Quality of room facilities was superb. Withhin 15on walking distance of city centre. 100m from Rennwegg train station which you get S7 train from airport every 20 or so minutes. Very good value for money.

Lovely hotel just 100 meter walk from rail station. S7 line from the airport in 15 mins. All keycoded and facilities to leave bags until departure. Lovely staff, very helpful and obliging. Location 20 min walk from centre, but efficient tram and bus service if you didn't want to walk. Apartment very spacious and comfortable. Fully equipped kitchen Inc dishwasher and washing machine. Excellent bathroom facilities, large bath and 2 shower heads. Constant hot water. Comfortable bed, large amount if hanging storage and very quiet. Would definately recommend and would like to stay again.

A little disappointed as due to some error, we had to stay the first night in a different hotel, which was right by the main road, so very noisy. This disrupted our plans somewhat but we were able to check into La Scala around 10:30 the following day. The people were extremely friendly especially the Manager, who gave us so much useful information on where to go and how to get there. The location is very cenral - just get the S7 train from the airport for €2.40 and get off at Rennweg. La Scale is just across the road from the station This trains runs 18 mins past the hour and 18 mins to the hour.

It’s about minutes walking distance to the bus and train station. The apartment is not kept quite clean and it has an awful smell in the bathroom.

Fantastic experience
Our stay at the hotel was incredibly enjoyable. We had come to Vienna only for the weekend and we found the hotel staff to be very friendly and helpful. Our room was massive and spacious and clean. We’d stay here again when next we’re in Vienna and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to visit Vienna, especially if you want to stay close to the city centre.

Nice location but limited service and not clean
We spend our first Vienna New Year's visit here and had a mixed experience ... Pros: 1. The hotel manager is quite friendly when you can find him (only on duty at 9-10am), provided needed information and even gave us a bottle of champagne for the New Year's eve! 2. Location is nice, quiet neighborhood outside of the main city center but easy to get around town by tram or underground 3. When we arrived, the sofa bed we requested is fully set up Cons: 1. Biggest turn off - room is not thoroughly cleaned, kitchen is dusty 2. Limited hours of manager presence (as mentioned above); one MUST call ahead before arrival to schedule check in 3. The only other staff in hotel is probably the cleaning lady and she did not understand a word of English (this is when I could not find the manager)

Great Apartment, no parking, horrible staff
The apartment itself was very clean and a pleasant surprise after being in the spooky hallway, the cluttered staff office, and judging "the book by its cover" while standing outside in the cold, trying to figure out which buzzer the staff was going to answer, cause they neither responded to the "La Scala" buzzer nor answer the door when knocking. But, upon entering, understandably so why no one would answer the door, as the staff office is at the end of the spooky hallway (seemed like entering Hogwarts) and the old man that let me in, when I called them to let me in, just yelled and yelled and yelled, about how we can't park anywhere near the premises until after a certain time, which would require us to wait another hour, but we were tired and just wanted to go to bed. I chucked that one up to tone deaf and old age for the yelling, and extreme hand gestures, but, I was too tired to argue with him. They do give you garage passes, but, he didn't see the point in charging me €20 for a garage when parking was about to be free in an hour. Problem was, there's no space available with free parking, since the residents all park there and get there before you. Otherwise, room is very clean and spacious. Portable AC didn't work. Fan didn't work. But, the cool night air worked for us. And, we were too tired to address it. Outlets didn't work either. Light switches worked. Maybe there was a button that we failed to switch but again, too tired to care, and it was only for the night.

Little gem in Vienna
Great location, easy access to trams and subway. Quiet neighborhood and loved having kichenette in the apartment. They are doing renovations between 7:30am and 6pm but it never bothered us since we were out sightseeing all day.

Very comfortable and clean apartment with large and very clean bathroom and excellent cooking facilities. Excellent location: Easy access from the airport and very close to metro and trams. Walking distance to the centre and historical areas.

Amazing experience, welcoming place with fresh fruit on the table, easy check in as every door has a code, and the owner was very nice and exceptionally helpful, at the time of checking in, he spent a good time providing us info about the places to visit with the 3day time we had, provided us great maps, places to visit, eat, with detailed tips and detailed on the bus/Train tickets and how to reach the main destinations .

Lovely apartment with good transport links
Great studio apartment, with good travel links to the centre. The main hall area of the building was being rennovated, but we had no trouble regarding noise, etc. The staff were super friendly and gave good tips for areas to visit. An enjoyable stay and bargain price compared to town centre.

Dirty and nutty reception
Reception isn't non-existent. They should really do a true online check-in. Little communication before as well. The real problem is cleanliness. €18 for cleaning, but diet and hair in the floors is just not tolerable. The place is simple and decorated nicely, but that and the state of the bathrooms has to be improved.

Very spacious apt for those on a budget!
I was pleasantly surprised by the apartment. The apartment is massive! The bathroom is awesome and was once a mini spa. It has three showers and three sauna rooms, granted only one was working. The whole building is currently ( Sept 2016) being remodeled/upgraded, but most of the work is taking place on the main floor. The apt comfortably fits 4 adults, but you can easily fit two kids under 7 and still have plenty of space. The apartment is on a very quiet street. There isn't a lot to see in the neighborhood, but it is only two blocks away from the 71 tram, which is 5-10 mins from the central downtown area. Lastly, the building manager is the nicest guy!! He's a happy go-lucky person. He even carried our heavy luggage to our apartment. Thank you Leschko!

Nice hotel in central location in Vienna.
Hotel was close to public transportation and within 20-minute walk to downtown Vienna sites. Room was spacious and clean. Manager was quite helpful if a bit gruff. Good value for the price.

Scary, Dusty, Noisy and Not As Advertised
La Scala Apartments is scary, dusty, noisy and disgusting - not as advertised. The place is more of a construction site. The amenities advertised are false. There are no 11 rooms - just 2 rooms on ground floor and 2 rooms in a cellar converted into rooms. Cellar rooms are scary, musty without proper flooring and windows except 2 small windows near ceiling. No free newspaper in lobby, no lobby, no front desk, no multilingual staff - only staff in attendance was a shirtless person working on construction site, no premium bedding, no free toiletries, no rainfall or showerhead shower, weak WiFi. La Scala Apartments needs to be truthful in advertising so that customers can make informed decision when booking. We booked based on the advertised amenities and description which were non existent. We were disappointed with the place and felt cheated.

Hotel close to Vienna Centre/ Major renovations
This hotel is well located and within walking distance of the city center. Upon arrival we were greeted with heavy volumes of noise due to the major renovations taking place within the hotel. The owner was friendly and offered us lots of ideas for visiting the city, however when led to our large room in the basement we noticed a very musty and damp smell. The floors were filthy and we needed to wear our shoes so we didn't have dirt in our beds. The bathroom was massive and had two showers( both which contained mould) and three saunas which were labelled private and not for our use. The owner was very difficult to reach as he was very busy with the rhos in the hotel. The noise of jack hammers went from 8:30 am to 6pm so it was good to be out of the hotel. Until the renovations are complete this hotel would be better to avoid.

Misleading description
Pros: Nice location, if you like to walk (25 mins to the city center); staff eager to help (if you speak German and can get hold of them) Cons: No 4-star conditions under any circumstances. Internet barely worked, noisy renovation was being carried out, multilingual staff does not exist, late check-in was a nightmare.

La Scala-overall positive / air-conditioning need
Overall, a very positive stay in a nice location. One drawback is that the room does not have air-conditioning and, in view of the heat in Vienna, this led to a situation where the room temperature was quite hot. This was remedied a little by a standing fan in the room, but it was quite noisy.
