Nice hotel close to busy vienna
Lovely hotel.very comfortable.very close to shops places to eat and drink and places to visit.room cleaned daily.very hot in summer could do with A/C,but a fan is provided.staff were all very nice.also has free WiFi.would definitely stay here again.

Very nice stay for the price
The hotel graciously accommodated a very late check-in. I was a bit taken aback by the small size of my room (single bed); it was probably 80-95 square feet including the bathroom. The shower stall was designed for a short narrow person. Anyone 5' 6" tall or taller might feel a bit cramped. However, the bed itself was very comfortable and despite a lively courtyard that kept going strong until close to midnight each night, it was still possible to have a very good night's rest. The few times I interacted with the hotel staff, they were lovely. The location is fantastic. Walking distance to major attractions and the Museums Quartier is a quick tram ride away or an easy 10 minute walk. Housekeeping was pleasant and kept the room and bathroom clean.

Perfect place to stay while in Vienna.
This hotel is great. Although do not expect anything fancy. It has its own Viennese charm. The room was comfortable and super clean. I will definitely recommend my friends to stay there and will stay there again once I am back in Vienna.

Like waking up in a tent in the sun
The hotel itself including staff, food and shared areas was on the money. The room we stayed in was on the top floor and in sunshine all day. We visited during a heat wave and the one little fan in our room simply didn't offer any relief. We didn't get a single good night of sleep - passing out from heat and constantly waking up from the heat. In the morning we had cold showers and couldn't return to the room until the evening when we opened the windows completely to try to let the heat out once the sun set.

Great stay! Great atmophere!
My best friend and I spent two days in Vienna and couldn't have chosen a better hotel. We absolutely loved the atmosphere! The little patio restaurant was the perfect place to grab a drink and bite to eat after a long day out and about. Because the restaurant/bar closes at 10pm, the hotel allows for a nice and quiet sleep. It was about a ten minute walk to the underground and a main shopping street which had plenty of shops and restaurants. We would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here if ever in Vienna again!

My family of 4 stayed in 2 double rooms at this charming, small hotel. One room faced the street while the other faced the hotel's lovely courtyard. The rooms were a decent size, and everything was clean and simple. The only problem in 1 room was fluctuating water temperature and pressure in the shower. The hotel offers a well stocked and fresh buffet breakfast with breads, meat, cheese, yoghurt, etc. There were also a few hot items like scrambled eggs and bacon. There is a Filipino (!) restaurant in the hotel, that seemed pretty busy at dinner time.

this was a wonderful place to stay - the room complete with couch bed was spacious and comfortable - it was cold outside when we stayed and it was always good to get back to Brillantengrund the breakfasts were the best we had in Europe

Location: 10mins walk from centre however area does not have a lot of dining options nearby. Breakfast: great for €5 Hotel different and room good however for the price expected more. Beds were very comfortable. Staff: very kind and accommodating! :) did a great job even though the hotel itself seemed understaffed at times with no-one at reception.

For retro 50 lovers!
For retro lovers- 50s German design and arty photography everywhere! Clean, spacious rooms, great breakfasts (with additional German style fry-up with Nurnberg sausages, speck and fried and scrambled eggs) added to the usual continental plus freshly squeezed juice) and friendly staff. It was a bit further out than we wanted- 20 mins walk to the museum's quarter and then another 10 to town, but you saw lots of interesting shops on route. Room smelt of smoke as many Austrians seem to smoke everywhere and the showers was a handhold one and a bit pathetic, but did the job in the end.

Glad I picked it!
My choice of this hotel proved to be a good one. While out of the center of Vienna the tram stop was only a block away and an easy and short ride there. The neighborhood offered some nice restaurants and other shops were close by. The hotel breakfast was good and if warmer we could have had a table in the charming courtyard. The staff was very helpful in getting us oriented. As older travelers we appreciated their efforts.

This hotel was very near the Westbahnhof train station and was very easy to find. The room was lovely and very comfortable. The breakfast was perfect as well. Expect to walk app. 30 minutes to the city center (St. Stephen's) or use the tram.

From the moment I walked into Hotel Brillantengrund to the day I checked out I was treated like family by all the staff. They were eager to assist and never tired of my questions. The room was smallish, clean and more than enough for a single traveler. The breakfast were wonderful and you can eat very healthy should you be so inclined, One of the fine staff members is an avid cyclist so if you are let him know you may get to see his vintage Eddy Merckex road bike,

Traditional hotel with basic needs
This hotel is a three star basic hotel in the US standard but good location. It is conveniently located by a super market and many great local restaurants. My husband & I personally liked the atomosphere of the hotel because it is not a franchised hotel but more like a family owned hotel.

Solid hotel
This is a solid hotel in an eclectic neighborhood. The staff, rooms, and breakfast are all good. There's free wifi and an amenable restaurant. They were happy to serve us some light snacks before our evening out or beer that evening. There's no air conditioning but they do have fans. If you're looking for a chain style hotel or touristy location, this is not for you. If you're up for local flavor and great service, I recommend this hotel.

Great hotel to stay in Vienna
We had a wonderful stay of 4 nights in this hotel. It was accessible to public transport and tourist attractions are within reach. The hotel staff are very helpful and friendly. They were very accommodating that we even manage to have an early breakfast just in time for our pick-up for our tour at Salzburg which was at 6:30. The room is of reasonable size and very clean. My only complaint is with the pillow, they need to be changed to a better one. There are good restaurants around the neighbourhood and a grocery nearby as well

Above average accommodation in Vienna
We walked from Vienna Train Station (Wien Westbahnhof) to Hotel am Brillantengrund, which was just under a mile away. It was not hard to find, and we stayed for two nights. The location is fairly near to the centre of Vienna, although I would advise visitors to embrace the underground system since the main attractions in the city are fairly spread out. Although the staff were fairly welcoming and provided us with a city map, the reception area could do with a face-lift. It is neither warm nor embracing. After check-in we went off to find our rooms. These were fairly small with a single bed. The rooms were basic but ok. The TV had around 60 channels, but none in English. There was free WiFi throughout which was excellent. The breakfast was self-service, and when we visited, it was fairly quiet. The food options were not exactly memorable, but it was enough to satisfy us for our short stay. The dining area had pictures of a dark haired woman throughout. Whilst this may have been for artistic reasons, personally I would have preferred some pictures of Vienna or Austria; it is tourism accommodation, not someone's home! Overall, Hotel am Brillantengrund was fine. There was nothing wrong with it, but neither was there anything particular special about it either. If you're after somewhere fairly cheap to stay, while you go off exploring Vienna, then I would recommend it. You could do a lot worse!
