Great experience for a reasonable price
Good experience overall. Great service, we were able to store our suitcases in the lobby before check-in and after check-out while we went to the beach. Although the building is old, accurately captured in the pictures, it has its charm. However, the great service, good location and reasonable price made it a pleasant stay.

Good location but it's hard to park (paid road parking) and the beach is private and not for hotel guests. Breakfast is good but doesn't have a lot of variety. The room had only air conditioning in one of the two rooms.

Had a ‘prestige’ room at the front with a balcony. Huge bed, high ceilings, a really lovely room in a really lovely hotel, full of character. Very helpful and pleasant staff, and I had a great breakfast. Basically a matter of metres away from the beach and all Viareggio’s wonderful beachside cafes/bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay at the Marchionni again.

The place is a dump, don’t trust pictures on the internet and rating stars. Old creaky elevator from 1960s, worn out interior, showers size of a matchbox, signs of water leaks and peeled out paint everywhere, mediocre breakfast, to say a least. The staff is friendly somewhat, but it can’t save the whole picture.

Lift not working… this is not acceptable with a pregnant wife! Really bad condition of the building. The rooms are very clean. But the building is really breaking apart.

The staff is very friendly. The hotel is quite noisy. Fantastic elevator!! The beach nearby the hotel is private. The public beach is a 1.1 km walk. The boulevard is very nice.

The parking is 10 euros per day so a one-night stay is 20 euros. Very misleading. There is no place to unload the luggage as the one spot was taken by the hotel car. There is no pool, the "pool" is a fountain from the town.

The room was dirty, there was mould in the bathroom, shower was full of hair from previous guests, and the toilet was leaking. The balkony was full of dirt from birds, which of course is not the hotels fault, but they did not try to clean it either. No point in changing rooms, we went out on the balcony in the afternoon, and the neighbour nextdoor asked ut first thing "is your room dirty too?" Staff was friendly, but could only speak italian, so it was difficult. I asked for gluten free bread at the breakfast, the waiter looked at me and said "oh", and left. I thought she would bring med bread, or tell med that they didnt have it, but she never came back. Do not recommend this hotel, spend a little more money and choose another hotel.

Positives: Easy walk to beach and boardwalk. Everything felt classic-like out of a movie! Antique elevator, lovely dining area and entryway (except bedroom- see below.) Found out we had a free 3-course dinner and full continental breakfast included! Free wine but paid for water/ soft drinks. Great food! Very clean room. Negatives: Our room: Felt like we were sleeping in a back alley closet. Little to no decor, minimal light bulbs, really small bathroom, poor TV quality. Hostess spoke little English so was difficult to communicate about meals and beach use. Not sure if we had beach "rights". Limited parking.

Can’t recommend a stay here. The only upside is that the hotel is situated close to the nice promenade by the beach. There are only private beaches and sun beds for one day cost around 25€. The hotel will charge around 3€ more if a voucher is bought there. No beach bar available as stated in the hotel information. Towels are only changed every third day even if a sign in the bathroom states that the towels are changed if they are placed on the floor. Very confusing. Leaking shower door so a puddle of water on the floor after each shower. Cockroaches in the room. Available staff when checking in couldn’t speak English, caused unnecessary uncertainties. Staff claimed that city tax should be paid every day, think that it is more correct to charge this tax for the amount of nights.

Sono stato un cliente fisso dell' hotel, poi c' è stato il restailing, sono tornato ma ha parte il magnifico panorama dal balcone, tutto era impresentabile, letto alto 20 cm. con materasso inesistente la mia schiena chiede vendetta, bagno con lavandino mignon e cassetta che perdeva tutta la notte, per finire cuscino così alto da non poter dormire per il male al collo. Per finire colazione senza parole
