"Everyone was so friendly & helpful, and they spoke English. Jens helped us old people get the luggage up the stairs & gave helpful tips & directions. The hotel itself was old and quaint, just as it should be for the oldest town in Denmark. Step outside the hotel door, and we were on the village’s main pedestrian walkway. The whole experience was a wonderful step back in time for us. "

"I phoned the hotel at 14:30 on my day of arrival, as I would not be arriving until shortly after 20:00. I was told that the keys would be left in a locked box, and I was given the code. When I got to the hotel, although I could open the box, the keys were not there. Another couple who were staying there said the same had happened to them and gave me the contact telephone number. When I called, it was a prerecorded message in Danish, but no one answered. I was locked out of the hotel with no idea what to do. Thankfully, there was a lady down the road who knew the owner's phone number. She called her, and it was arranged that someone would bring the key. Had I not approached this very kind lady, I would not have had anywhere to stay. I have not received any apology. The hotel has a strange smell in the public areas. Although there is a pub attached, which is also the 'reception' for the hotel, it closes at 15:00, meaning no staff are available after that time if anything goes wrong. You can't leave your luggage at the hotel if you want to pick it up after 15:00, as there's nobody there. The breakfast is poor. There is a cold buffet and eggs and bacon kept warm on a single plate over a candle."

"This is an old building. As such it has a lot of charm. The bed was soft & my room nicely decorated. I loved it, but the floors are crooked & the stairs steep, so it's not a good pick if you have mobility issues."

"Kitchens have a the usual plates and cutlery for two with a coffee pot and kettle. Also a fridge and a flat bed toaster (not toaster oven, not a typical slot toaster.) The room was clean and the beds were perfect but we couldn’t find how to adjust the heat beyond the heated floor in bathroom. Staff is available by txt but we didn’t try to reach out and none of staff on-site interacted with us beyond check in. Our room had a table and chairs as well as a smart TV. I would recommend bringing shampoo/conditioner, soap, and a hairdryer as these are not provided. Neither were coffee or tea but there is grocery just a few minutes walk."

"Staff were so friendly. Breakfast was lovely and fresh. The apartment was clean and tidy and had everything you could need in the kitchen. I will definitely be visiting again. It was a short walk into Ribe which meant we didn't have to drive. Such a lovely place."
