Lots of potential. Clean and thoughtful owners. 1/2 block from the water. One of the cabinet doors hits a light fixture. Watch your head on the ceiling fan in the living room LOL! Not trailer friendly parking.

Review for families traveling with kids.
This cabin is not as pictured on VRBO. Though I debated writing this review, as the property owner did share he would write a poor review of us as renters if I did, it is important to me that families with children are not in this same position. First, the patio area pictured is not accurate to what is on site. The covered area is in disrepair, and the affixed furniture is dirty, rusty and unusable. There were recently storms at the lake, so the beach, too, was completely inaccessible. Because of the area of this cove, parents should consider that this area will likely always have a fair amount of debris and algae and is not the zero entry pebble beach described. The docks had several wasp nests with active wasps on the day we were there prior to leaving. This should also be a consideration for parents traveling with young kiddos. The cabin is cooled by a single AC unit located in the kitchen. The bedroom gets very warm if you shut the door overnight. The second “bedroom” appears to be a converted deck that also has no access to the AC and no curtains on the doors facing the property owner’s home for light blocking or privacy. My kiddos love bugs, so the exterior of the home was not of concern but, if you have kids scared of spiders, hornets, etc. they are all over the entry of the home. There were ants in the kitchen and in the bed in the bedroom. The cabin itself is odorous- a musty smell that may be difficult for some folks, as it was for us.

Morgan County Cottage
The cottage was clean, however overall maintenance was poor. The deck had screws exposed that could cut feet and the driveway was nearly impassable with anything but a truck. The cottage is not on the water, as you have to walk approx 1/2 block to the water and then take your own inflatables as there is a charge to use the property's.

Been coming to the Ozarks since I could walk and this property could be much better with proper care
Booked property for 10 nights. 1st interaction with the host was him saying "I don't shake hands with people that wear those" referring to my mask. Everyone is allowed their own opinion but as someone trying to make a living off a rental property I'd suggest a more open mind, especially during a pandemic where the Ozarks is in the spotlight. You are a better person than the one I was introduced to that day, I know it. We didn't use the cabin much other than a home base as we were out all day most every day, returning just to rest and sleep basically. I asked about the A/C before we booked and got a short response stating that there was A/C. Seeing just one unit in the pictures should've been a good indicator at what we are getting into. We all know ONE A/C WINDOW UNIT is not sufficient for a MULTI-ROOM cabin in the heat of Missouri summers. Had this been one open space, studio style, then yes one A/C unit is fine but you get little air flow into the other rooms even with all the fans going. The kids room was a Sauna every night, even with the A/C running non-stop and two fans blowing into their rooms. Get two more units! Don't walk around without shoes or you'll be left with dirty feet/socks. Dust bunnies in the corners, cobwebs/dust in the light fixtures and all around ceiling, definite spider infestation based on the many baby spiders we killed throughout the stay, ants show up once you start to have any signs of food out, MOLD in the corners of the tub and window sill in the shower. The owners take the cleaning fee and clean the place themselves, which is FINE, but at least do a good job cleaning. It's a cabin in the Ozarks, so I don't expect perfection but basic cleanliness is nice. Bugs typically stay outside if you spray often inside and out The big kicker, beyond the A/C, is there is no privacy or light blocking curtains in the bedrooms. The windows of the host property stare directly into the "second bedroom" and with no curtains on the slider and see through ones on all the windows you basically give everyone a nice show every time you change. The two dusk to dawn street lights really allow ample light into the cabin, even when trying to sleep. Yay! Pulls on the cabinets are wonky and loose. The dock they offer for your boat has no power, no cleats to tie down, and many boards are loose/coming up. The good: The screened in porch, the lake and the location for us. Eggs and Bacon don't make up for the other short-comings.

This was a good place on the Versailles part of the Lake. Only a short boat trip to the Gravois public access and Maggie's on the Lake. Host left eggs and bacon which were delicious. Would not recommend the bar close to the cabin, but everything else was great.

Very friendly people. Nice quiet location. Close to stuff to do. Driveway needs some gravel (so low cars be careful but that’s common in these areas) but other than that I would stay again. Felt at home.

We had a great time catching up with good friends and this cabin was the perfect place for it. The cabin was clean, cozy, and recently updated. Nice touches like providing eggs, bacon, orange juice, coffee and other staples. We had fun fishing, hanging out at the beach, using their kayaks, and having fires in the evening. The owners were great and we would stay again.
