The Summerplace neighborhood has a private dog friendly beach that is only a three minute walk away. This area is home to many nature trails including the famous 'Old Florida Trail'. In addition to the private beach, there is also a public beach with a lifeguard, restrooms, and showers just a couple of blocks away. The public beach also has a great authentic Italian Pizzeria and a sandwich shop. A couple of blocks away and next door to the public beach (Wabasso Beach) is the Disney Beach Resort which has two nice restaurants that are open to the public. The beaches are some of the largest sea turtle nesting sites in Florida. A few miles away is the charming yet upscale town of Vero Beach with great shopping, museums, restaurants, ice cream shops, farmers market, and much more. There is also the wonderful McKee Botanical Garden nearby, The Pelican Island Preserve, Sebastian Inlet State Park, The Environmental Education Center, which offers kayaking tours on the Indian River (around the corner from the house), and miles of uncrowded beaches.
