Spacious beach house!
Spacious beach house with great sunset views. House is sizeable with a large ocean facing living room/kitchen and huge bedrooms upstairs. Back porch is literally over the ocean and perfect for lounging and sunset views. At low tide the beach is great for walks and shell finding.

Relaxing Getaway
The ocean view from the huge picture windows and from the front patio was absolutely beautiful! Saw a group of seals swim by the first morning, and a group of dolphins swim by the second morning! Also enjoyed watching the sunset each evening while relaxing in the lounge chairs on the front porch. Feel like this home is a hidden gem!!

Great Location
The location of this home is perfect, the beach itself is beautiful and it was wonderful to stay at a place on the water. The home is equip with all the things you need, beach towels, kitchen stocked with utensils and such. However, it was not the cleanest and everything was rusted, including the front door which was worrisome. I understand that salt water is the culprit, but I believe that the home should definitely be updated to something that would be better suited for this area. The tables were rusted to the carpet upstairs!

WOW!!!!
That beautiful ocean sound is something I never get tired of seeing and hearing and the views from this home is amazing, we even got to watch a pod of dolphins playing I would suggest updating the carpet as they are white and very dirty I would also suggest they have the heat on when guest arrive we were very cold when we arrived But I loved having so much space and being able to walk down to the beach right outside our doors and yummy restaurants in walking distance I would definitely recommend this place

Not a luxury house
Location was great but this house is not a luxury rental. Plus it was not clean on arrival, with dirt on patio chairs and tables, and hair in the drawers in the bathrooms upstairs. Comparing with another house closer to the pier we rented last year for the same price, this comes not even close in terms of condition, comfort, cleanliness and amenities. Very dissatisfied.

Great location. Some minor issues.
Pros- beautiful location, peaceful, close to Santa Barbara and Malibu. Has most kitchen appliances and utensils. Cons-Amenities not listed well on website. e.g. there are 900+ paper coffee filters in pantry because guests purchase the base 200 pack not knowing 800 are at house. Same with bags of ice. Master shower has huge step down with no handles for in/out access. Tar from oil Derricks get on feet/shoes when walking beach.

Nice getaway
We had our trip in mid November. The location is secluded so during this time the beach is pretty empty. There was the occasional surfer and walker. Other than that the view is spectacular and the location is perfect for privacy. The house is a little dated, but overall it was nice. The kitchen supplies/cooking utensils were lacking, but overall doable. The 6 burner stove and double oven is great! Patio had comfortable seating and the stairway to the beach was perfect! If you check in after dark be sure you use your phone flashlight, you’ll need it to navigate your way to the main entrance via side of the house which is poorly lit. Overall, for the privacy and beachfront it was perfect. The rooms upstairs are a good size and the view from the masterbdrm is beautiful. There are 3 full bathrooms and the outdoor shower to rinse off. The views from the living room and kitchen are stunning. the location is not close to a local market so you’ll need to plan ahead to bring your groceries and other items. A store run could run you an hour depending on traffic.

Overpriced for what you get
Fantastic location with the front deck basically being right on the beach with great views from the living room, kitchen and master bedroom. Very nice little neighborhood with an uncrowded beach. Overall the interior of the house was nice but it was extremely outdated. Also when a place is listed as being “TurnKey” it should not be missing necessities like paper towels and there should at least be hand soap in every restroom. The place should have been much cleaner than it was when we checked in, one of the bedrooms actually had dirty sheets and looked like they weren’t washed at all. There was also old mattresses piled up in the master bedroom closet making it look trashy. The biggest problem was the air conditioner being completely useless, everyone had a hard time sleeping including our infant because we couldn’t get the temperature down. We’ve stayed at other places that were in this price range and did not have to put up with any of these problems.

Great relaxing family escape
We were very pleased with the property. Exactly what we needed to get away from work/school for a week. Here's a few things we noted: - The place is really lovely, but it does show some wear from use and sea air that isn't visible in the pictures. Treat the pictures like those 'glamor shots' people used to get in the mall, and your expectations will be met :). This is the reason I gave it 4/5 for cleanliness - it's not really that it's not clean; more that it's just a little worn. But hey, it's a *rental* property *on the beach*, so it's reasonable to expect this. - The beach is not at all crowded, and the sand is really nice. For a 'wild' beach (i.e. without anyone paid to keep it clean, like in a resort), it's really clean and pretty. Great for kids to run around on. You can walk pretty far along to the northwest, which is great for those 'long walks on the beach'. There's a very small amount of tar that *sometimes* gets on the bottom of your feet. Comes off really easy with baby oil, and it's not a big deal at all. - There's a reason surfers come to this beach: the waves are pretty substantial. Fun if you're not too delicate and a strong swimmer (there are boogie boards included!). Probably not good for small kids to swim in, but they'll have loads of fun jumping over the small waves right up on the beach. There were several other families in neighboring houses, and they had small kids, who did fine. - It doesn't look like it on the map, but depending on traffic, it can feel like you're pretty far from Santa Barbara and Ventura (definitely from L.A.). We were there to get away from civilization, so we just picked up groceries in Ventura and stayed home to watch the waves. Perfect for us. There's a nice row of restaurants in Ventura too - I'd recommend that. The rental company (turnkey) did a great job communicating with us, and checkin/checkour was super easy.

Beautiful home/bad neighbor
What a beautiful home. Perfect for our 20 year anniversary. Architecturally beautiful. We’ve stayed in about 10 vacay houses in this area, from Solimar beach to Mussel Shoals. This house is def in the top 4. I love the 2-story beach houses as you get two ocean perspectives. We loved the large sitting room. And the upstairs deck. The entire house is well appointed. Overall, great. The 2-car garage is actually not included though they left us a garage key. So don’t wash your car beforehand. The sea mist coats it. And the house is within walking distance of my fave, Shoal’s restaurant. We would have definitely rented it again. Those are the Pros. The Cons: A few minutes after we brought in our bags a strange man entered the house from the beachside, startling us. He walked into the living room and angrily demanded to know who we were and asked my latino spouse if he was a housekeeper. We said we’re renting and asked him to leave. He refused. He said no one told him about us and treated us like criminals. We were obviously unnerved and if he wasn’t so old I might have called 911. We asked what right do you have to let yourself in? He admitted he lived next-door. Again we asked him to leave and he refused. I got him to calm down by saying we’re also homeowners and respect the vigilance of our own neighbors but this is going too far. Finally after some back and forth he left. We were told by others he has done this before and I hope the owner’s not encouraging his vigilance as he seemed well within his rights and emboldened to enter the home while paying tenants were there. If not, they need to let him know this is not allowed. Nor legal. Once the sun came down, when we went on the deck we had to stay on the left as he has a blindingly bright motion-sensitive Led spotlight pointed at this home’s deck. Obviously to harass and discourage repeat renters. Needless to say, it put a pallor over the rest of the trip. When we booked, we knew the house was still available after our departure dates and we had the option of staying longer. Our families laugh that we often extend our trips by a few days, but not this time. After this encounter we had no desire. I realize some people are not happy with short term rental homes. NIMBY, I get it. We’ve rented homes around the world and have never had a problem. This homeowner and the rental company lost money since we decided not to extend our stay. I hope they talk to him. Others may not have been as chill as us.

Amazing location!
The house is okay and well stocked, but the location is everything! The beach is beautiful and serene. Can't beat being right on the beach, especially when there are no crowds. The representatives of Vacasa were extremely helpful and friendly. I would rent from them again anytime. We had a wonderful trip and would love to go back!

Beautiful views, but furniture and bathrooms lacking
On the plus side - The setting is fantastic! private and relaxing. Could not have enjoyed the view more. Kitchen is fairly well-equipped. Beds are good, and bedrooms are large. On the downside - the furniture (living room, dining room and patio are old and uncomfortable, and lacking for such a home. The most comfortable chairs were the two we brought. The master bath shower/tub combo is a death trap! I don’t know why anyone would design such a thing, with the step in and out are so dangerous, deep and with no handles it is virtually unusable. Have to use downstairs shower to avoid such a risky situation. Surprised not sued by someone getting injured. Desperately need to update furniture and fix master bath shower situation. Bathrooms are dated and some corrosion on fixtures. Also, maintenance (door hardware, lighting fixtures that are on exterior are in need of repair/replacement. Need to increase maintenance on these items. GFI plug in kitchen would not reset.

Beach house showing its age a bit
Luckily we saved an early email telling about a gate lock-box access code. The latest instructions mentioned the beach-side door access code, but without gate access to the actual property, we would have been standing on the driveway calling the emergency number..... Dramatic first floor. Nice kitchen. Plenty of kitchen utensils, etc. Going upstairs we saw aged white carpet that needs a deep clean at best and replacing at worst. Not a good look for a "premium" level property. Rooms are nice sized. Master bath shower was basically unusable for us. There are 2 granite steps up and then a very large step down into the deep jetted tub.. Might have been ok with dry feet, but looked pretty dangerous to climb up and out with wet feet. We showered in the smallish shower down on the first floor. 2nd bedroom/hall bath was laid out ok for our daughter's use. Overall a pretty decent beach house that shows the wear and tear that a house directly on the beach is subject to...
