"This is a beautiful place to stay, with amazing views, it is decorated nicely with a well equipped kitchen. There are plenty of places to sit outside in the shade all of the day or bask in the sun all day. It’s off the beaten track and very peaceful to let you have the holiday you want. "What a great holiday! Superb Villa, beautiful Villa with beautiful valley and Mountain View’s. Great pool, and with a table tennis table and pool table there’s plenty to do. "Lovely house. Nothing worked. Owner never checked appliances worked before we arrived. We were made to pay for new appliances, beds held together with cable ties and a live chandelier which my husband got a shock off. Not suitable for very young or elderly as steep steps have no hand rails."

"Lovely, spacious and well appointed property. The gardens are very well kept and all our needs were catered for. The children loved the space, pool and play area. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedding was fresh, clean and tidy. It is secure and safe environment and we will use it again. The owners are really nice people and were available if we needed anything. Good value for the money paid. Thank you to our host. James"

"Spectacular view, very clean property, good facilities, spacious and thought through for comfortable stay. Be avare that the road to and from the villa is a bit of an adrenaline ride. It's so steep with sharp turns and no barrier on site that we had to pray every time going up and down. However, the view is so worth it, during the day it's a sea and mountain view, during the night you have a city lights under your feet, absolutely beautiful!"

I’be been visiting this area for the past fifteen years and this is probably one of the nicest houses I’ve stayed in. "Great views of Competa. Close location to village. NB: main road is quite a steep in areas as would be expected in the mountains- dirt road to house for a short distance and then a steep driveway. "The villa was in the hills near Frigiliana - a 15 minute drive away. The villa was fine with 2 bedrooms with air con and 2 with fans. We were not inside much as the outside area was large and really great for relaxing - with sofas in the shade, sunbeds and a nice pool and views over the mountains. Frigiliana is a lovely village and we had some greatt meals there and Nerja is only 30 minutes away and has a great beach and beach bars and large supermarkets if cooking. "After traveling all day it took us an hour to get our key( at a separate location 1/2 away with traffic) and then we had to wait for the garage door opener ( at a separate location where someone had to bring it, 20 minute wait). The information/welcome packet was not detailed enough. It said wifi code was in the apartment but it wasn’t. I called the number in VRBO and the owner(?) was very irritated and said I needed to call the management company. They couldn’t help. Had to find the password on...

We love RIU Monica and Nerja

"We always enjoy our stay at RIU Monica. It is very easy to arrive by car, plenty of room in front of the hotel to arrive then find a parking spot or use hotel parking lot. I really enjoy room with a balcony, rooms and the hotel are very, very clean. Gym has a few bikes, rowing machine, eliptical, treadmill, and a few weight machines. There are so many great spaces inside and outside the hotel. Both breakfast and dinner are excellent, you can sit outside over the ocean (by heaters if needed). The restaurant staff is incredible, very professional. This is adults only hotel. Also, it is an easy hour drive to the Alhambra (drive up and spend a night at Aurea Washington Irving, also very easy to pull up and take your time to get in and staff will park your car for $25 a night, you can easily walk to Alhambra from hotel). We are usually in Nerja in January, weather is generally 60s and sunny, water temp is also around 60 so swimming is not too bad. We are in our mid 60s and are very active, this hotel really suits us well."

"Good hostal - clean and central, friendly helpful staff. Just a few minor things- no bin in the room (only a tiny one in the bathroom), nothing to hang towels on in the bathroom, a few hooks on the back of the door would help! No full length mirror which is annoying when you’re on holiday and want to see your outfits! "
