Buck lake is a peaceful and beautiful no-wake lake, located in rural Vandalia. We have one kayak, one paddleboard, a small fishing boat, and two adult bikes (please bring your own helmets). Dr. Lawless Park is across the street, and there are tons of bike trails!
Our dock is a little crooked, but have no fear! It’s safe and sturdy! Many families swim in the lake, but they typically go the middle of the water, away from the seaweed, because there is a lot of it at the shoreline!

We’re only an hour away from Notre Dame, touristy Shipshewana, and Lake Michigan!
Meijer & Walmart are 20 minutes away. Our dear friends own The Bullseye Market which has fresh cut meat, deli, baked items and a cafe! Dollar General is 10 minutes away. We have coffee and tea available, but Starbucks is 20 minutes away near grocery!
Buck Lake does not have public access, but there are several sport lakes within a short driving distance if you’d like to bring a boat to a body of water. Please note: Michigan boating laws are different than most states. You need a Michigan boating license.
