The homeowner slams the suite door in our faces during check in. I thought it was someone overstaying. She was just doing "final clean", what an overstatement. We manage properties for a living, including short-term rental company bookings. We can identify poeople who are not suited for this business. We walked in and immediately started searching for the cancelation policy and any alternative rental available. There were no other places available in the area and we were afraid that the homeowner would get offended if we complained and would kick us out. The suite was not cleaned properly. Dirty walls, doors and baseboards. Kids toys, cheerios, socks under the couch. Unknown substance smeared all over the back of the bathroom door. Bathroom fan rattles
bad and something gross seen wedged in the side. Put toilet lid down to find not cleaned in a while. Some kind of overspray on the mirror and the light fixture. Every corner has dirt build up. Novice DIY homeowner takes great pictures but fails to mention that suite is mid-renovations. Toilet rocks bad, fan comes on with light every time, all 10 lights in living room on one switch and no dimmer. Nights inside are either pitch black (no table lamps) or 1200 watts of blinding white light. Don't look close at the tile or fireplace job and ignore the sticky front door electronic deadbolt. We stayed 14 days and the kids were noisy 11/14. Lots of noise upstairs and outside our interior door. Major meltdown by homeowner over parking.
