"This place is worth every penny (because that's literally what you're paying - penny's on the dollar). However, you get what you pay for. The staff is very astute and forthcoming, the parking is convenient and directly in front of the room, and the rooms are, in fact, clean. However, the rooms are very noisy - you hear literally every sound on the property, everything is well beyond its prime (and is showing it) and you don't feel like it's clean (but it is). One of the best hotel stays of my traveler career

"This hotel is likely the best one in town. It is very clean and safe, and so is the area around the hotel. It has beautiful architecture and decorations, rooms are remarkably comfortable and quiet. Ideal for working remotely, too. Restaurant on site has good basic food, and there are good restaurants in the area. Pool is great - large enough for swimming laps and beautiful, too. But the best part is how friendly the staff is! Owner is on site, too, most of the time. If I am ever in Matamoros again, will only stay here!"
