Great Value for 4 - 6 skiers - Walk to the Lifts

If you are looking to do some powder skiing in Vail, then January is usually the best time to find the powder. It's hard to predict exactly when it's going to snow, but a lot of our powder skiing days in the past have happened in January. You'll also find some of our lowest rates of the winter in January, especially for mid week says, which also have the least number of skiers on the mountain.

Vail International #401 offers a 2-bedroom + loft, 3-bath condo perfect for families or groups of up to six. Vaulted ceilings and west-facing views provide the perfect backdrop for sunset mountain vistas. The kitchen boasts granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a standard coffee maker with coffee and filters provided. A dining table for eight overlooks a sliding glass door leading to the balcony, while the cozy living room features a gas fireplace and flat-panel TV.

The main-level primary bedroom includes a king bed and access to a private balcony. The second bedroom features two twin beds and a loft with two more twins. A second loft, perched above the kitchen and living area, includes two additional twin beds and a bathroom. Both lofts are accessed via narrow spiral staircases. Each bedroom is equipped with a flat-panel TV, and the bathrooms are thoughtfully designed—one with a tub/shower combo and the others with stall showers.

This condo is ideal for families with 3–4 kids or groups who value individual beds and shared spaces. Its unbeatable location places you between Lionshead and Vail Village. A short walk west takes you to Lionshead Village, known for its dining, shops, and the Lionshead Gondola. Head east for a 10-minute stroll to Vail Village for even more unique offerings. The free town shuttle stops nearby at Dobson Ice Arena, providing easy access to all of Vail’s attractions.

Wonderful family ski vacation!
The condo was perfect for a family of six. The proximity to ski lifts/ rentals, restaurants and shopping made the whole vacation work easily.

Good Location, But Unit Needs Serious Improvement
The unit's location makes it a convenient walk to the ski lifts, making it ideal for anyone looking to hit the slopes. However, the overall condition of the unit was disappointing. It was not clean and appeared quite dirty, which was a big letdown. The furniture was outdated and worn out, and the bedding—including pillows, bed sheets, and comforters—was in poor condition. If you plan on staying here, it's worth bringing your own pillows, as the current ones are not comfortable. Additionally, there were no condiments provided, so be sure to bring your own. You might also want to pick up paper plates, napkins, and utensils. The elevator was out of service for the entire week, which made accessing the unit on the 4th floor very inconvenient. Overall, the unit is in serious need of some TLC to bring it up to the standards of the surrounding town. While the location is great, the condition of the unit left much to be desired.
