Sonnenalp is definitely not what it used to be. It has lost its magical quaint, relaxing charm, as the hotel is trying to cater to snooty latinos. It seems the hotel is trying to be like The Sebatian, but its vibe could never be quite as upscale as they'd need to overhaul the whole hotel. Echt Schade.

I will definitely be back to this resort. One hiccup the entire trip at the Ludwig. Breakfast is pricey, which was expected however the main attraction omelette station was late getting started. The attendant was not apologetic. We were unable to get this service because of a planned ski instruction. We did not go back to the restaurant.. everything else was perfect.

My husband has been staying here for years for business, and always says good things. I finally "bit the bullet" and booked a room during early ski season. It was absolute perfection. The room was gorgeous, the staff was super friendly and welcoming, the breakfast buffet was divine and the live music in the evening was lovely. This may become a new family tradition :).

We stayed there the week before ski opening and it was amazing. Some outlets still closed but the hotel cleanliness, staff friendliness are second to none.

Sonnenalp is a great family owned hotel. It does have what seems like very low ceilings, so it makes it feel less luxurious, but it is still a wonderful property with kind staff. The room was very warm & would not cool down without opening the windows, and that was frustrating, but overall was a very nice experience.
