Overall would recommend
On balance our stay was fantastic and I would recommend it to other friends. Two issues that arose for us however - 1. The printed instructions from Kangaroo Valley Getaways were not accurate. They state that the property is approx. 14.5km along Upper Kangaroo River Road from the junction with Kangaroo Valley Road. It is more like 17.5km. Given that it is a rough & winding road, with numerous causeways, side-roads and gates, there were a few times we considered turning back, assuming we had gone too far, so it was annoying to not have accurate mileage. Also a couple of our group were arriving in the dark which added an additional delay for them. 2. Also, we were not given any Wifi code from KVG, nor was it listed in any house notes, so we were initially unable to access the internet. Some time later and just by chance, due to a previous guest having scribbled it down on the corner of a random piece of paper, we gave it a try and got it to work. Hopefully this feedback will be helpful for future guests. PS My delay in giving you this feedback is because I have been away overseas since our getaway.

Never Going Back Again!!!
Positive: We went there for 2018 Christmas break. View from the house is beautiful. The house is placed in a location with great tranquillity. If you turn off all the electrical lights and go to the balcony outside, you can see an absolutely gorgeous sky with thousands of stars. The house has a good range of kitchen supplies. Birds singing all time and wildlife all around. Weve got many visits from wombats, kangaroos. However, the most interesting one was a snake chasing a lizard. All rare sights. Negative: We felt that the advertisement of the house did not represent the true situation of the access to the property. In our opinion, the road is very narrow, winding and turning all the while with nauseatingly bumpy due to lots of holes and pits, and Its barely the width of one vehicle, with no guardrail to protect you from falls. We had to drive through turnings over only rocks and water flowing therethrough. Furthermore, after the main gate, we had to pass an S-shape uphill, very steep and narrow road to the house. We will not recommend this drive for a driver with mid-level driving skill or people with a heart condition. In our view, its not family friendly drive to the house unless you are looking for an adrenaline rush. Due to the nature of this road, we had to cancel some of the events we planned. I am really glad that it did not rain during our stay. I can not imagine this road being muddy!!! The other big issue was the house was clearly not equipped with enough fans (only 2 decorative ceiling fans were in the whole house) to deal with the normal Australian summer. This house becomes like a gas chamber in middays. The first two nights, we could not sleep properly for the heat inside the house, and we kept ourselves cool by wiping us with wet towels. For the remaining two night, we purchased fans for ourselves.

A true "getaway"
This place was an absolute joy to stay at!! The property was truly isolated and super peaceful - about as quiet as you can get for a quiet and relaxing getaway to escape from busy city life. The house was super well equipped and the living spaces were nice and spacious. There is also a waterhole nearby that's walking distance and is great to take a dip at. The only hiccups we had were that reception was extremely limited (not a bad thing if you're trying to unplug!) and that the last stretch of road leading into the property was quite rugged, but we managed fine with a small sedan - as long as you're careful you'll be right. Would absolutely stay here again :)

Wonderfully remote stay in upper Kangaroo Valley
This property was truly amazing! It’s set out on a beautiful clearing that is raised from the crystal clear river/creek which is just a short drive or 15 minute walk below. The house is fully stocked with every kitchen appliance, cooking utensil, you could ever need including a soda stream and nutribullet. There are kitchen basics already supplied as well including tea, coffee, sugar, salt, oil etc. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable and the linen was all clean. There was every amenity in the place so we wanted for nothing, including firewood, during our stay there. We traveled as five couples, two toddlers (2 and 1) and an infant. It was absolutely ideal for us. The owners and rental property managers were exceptional with their quick responses to all of our enquires and made the whole process effortless and enjoyable. They were even generous enough to permit us to bring our small obedient puppy, who had an absolute ball, along with the kids running around the property. There were kids toys as well which kept them entertained when the heat of the day became too much for outdoor play. There is very limited reception and no wifi, not that we noticed as we we’re there to get away from it all. Kangaroo valley township is about a 20 minute drive away, so we had preshopped for everything before we got there. The creek is extremely pretty, with Little Rock pools throughout. The water was glacial but a few of us braved the crystal waters. It would be perfect mid summer for a dip. All in all it was one of the best trips we’ve had as a group and I would highly recommend this place to anyone. We will definitely be booking this place again.

Wonderful winter escape
We had a lovely stay at Yeola with family. It is a remote place but with several coffee machines, fantastic kitchen, Foxtel and stocked fireplace- we didn’t need to leave. We liked exploring local minihaha falls, the local creeks and kangaroo and wombat hunting with the kids. The beds were comfy and plenty of books provided.

A Piece of Heaven.
We had an incredible time relaxing in the lead up to a friends big day. Endless amounts of space inside and out, not once did we feel like we were on top of each other. The drive in on unsurfaced roads is best done is an all wheel or 4 wheel drive. However my Mazda 3, got through without an issue, however may be different had is rained. definitely talking about returning in the new year.

Not good
I have stayed in the Kangaroo Valley several times with the same group of friends in various different Houses all of which have been great (same sized) and less in cost than Yeola. All booked though Stayz/Kangaroo Valley Getaways. Quick summary below of the issues: The Level one cleanliness overall was not acceptable Door on balcony upstairs was on the ground Air vent in upstairs room fell off when brushing past it, fell on my friends foot and caused bruising Thermostat in bathroom had exposed wires so I taped it up fearing the kids may electrocute themselves (I later found out was under floor heating and disconnected but still not acceptable) BBQ was filthy we cleaned the plates to cook on it, however when we turned it on there was so much fat in the grease tray it set on fire….. BBQ was broken i.e. Lid hinge Front window broken and covered in tape Ceiling leaked in kitchen above the sink area Dishwasher filthy and had no baskets/trays so couldn’t even use it I could go on but these were the biggest issues. We were going to stay Sunday night as well as per booking, but due to the state of the place we left early This is not the standard of property I am used to when using Stayz and Kangaroo Valley Getaways and am very disappointed. I was also embarrassed as I booked the place for our group…… When I emailed Kangaroo Valley stays they said they would contact the owner and get back to me........

Beautiful property
Yeola was as we had expected. The property was well furnished and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only thing to look out for is that the road to the property is very rough. There were a lot of large potholes and also if it is raining there is a risk of flooding.

You have to see this place to believe it. The property is nestled in the bush. It is magical. Either side you look there are mountains, cliff faces. The house has been designed with the view in mind. Just down the road is a stunning creek, perfect for the kids (and adults) to play in.The house is beautifully appointed. The best bedroom is upstairs and has a magical view. Brand new kitchen and new bathroom upstairs. We arrived to a roaring fire, the caretaker is lovely and let us go for an adventure on their 45 ac property. We saw calfs.Totally recommend. We went with 4 families all slept very comfortably.

We stayed at Yeola with 6 adults, 4 young children and a baby and it was a perfect sized house for the number of people. The house is essentially two houses, each with their own living room with fireplace and kitchen/dining room. Every room has an amazing view and is far away from the other rooms that you don't feel on top of each other. The caretaker who lives down the hill greeted us on arrival and is very helpful if you need it otherwise he stays out of your way. He took us out looking for wombats one night (we saw one!) and also showed us the private swimming hole in the river down the hill. The swimming hole is amazing and has a large deep pool for good swimmers and lots of shallow pools for the kids. The water was chrystal clear. The only downside is that access to the house is via a gravel track with two shallow creek crossings and a steep incline on the last 200m so I would recommend doing it with 4WD or powerful car. We tried it in an overloaded hatchback and were lucky to get up the hill. If you are travelling in convoy, you could leave the small car beside the track and shuttle the rest of the way in the larger cars. Overall, we had a great weekend and would highly recommend staying at Yeola.
