The perfect location in Harbor Country for your getaway! One short block to the sandy shores of Lake Michigan. Our home is peaceful and homey, with plenty of room for everyone. Large wrap around fenced-in yard with lush gardens, hammock, fire pit, and new Weber gas grill. We have two cozy screened in porches at front and back of the house. Our sun filled kitchen is the heart of the home, with ample space for cooking and hanging out before dinner. We've got everything you need for your carefree beach vacation - including beach chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, and even a wagon for carrying it all down to the best beach.

Perfect spot. Perfect location.
Perfect beach cottage. Super close to the beach and "downtown" Union Pier and very well equipped for an easy stay - everything you need in a kitchen to feed the lot plus beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas, etc for hanging out. Best part is there are sooo many windows allowing you to open up the house and take advantage of the cool SW Michigan nights after a hot day at the beach.

We had another wonderful stay! This year we made a point to use the backyard fire pit which came loaded with tons of firewood. Such a great family tradition spot!!

Location is perfect! We loved the large dining area for meals and games. The fire pit was perfect for evening s’mores! The house is comfortable and inviting. Lots of towels, beach chairs, and the perfect wagon to help cart it all to the beach.

Fantastic Beach Home!
We were are family of 5 adults. Plenty of room, super cute, better than the photos.Fully stocked kitchen, everything you would need. Loved the backyard with the fire pit. The location was amazing ,close to the beach, local store and coffee shop. Susan & Victor are incredible hosts!

A lovely cottage in a great location
We loved our stay at the cottage. The gardens are beautiful and the kitchen had every utensil a cook would need. The location and proximity to the beach can’t be beat!

Great family house for playing at the beach!
We enjoyed four nights with my husband and four children ages 8, 6, 4, and 2 and my mother and father in law. We slept comfortably and loved the spacious and well supplied kitchen and large dining table. We easily walked to the beach multiple times a day to play in the sand and water. The front and back porches were great additional spaces for spreading out. Everything was very clean and well organized!

Absolutely lovely house within minutes of one of, if not, the best beach in the area. Wonderfully appointed home that has everything you need for a perfect beach trip. Room for the whole family, of all ages. Fantastic hosts, don’t pass this one up!

Amazing location and property. The place had ample beds for kids, and the trundle setup on the top floor is excellent. Between beach chairs, wagon, and sand toys - we truly didn’t want for much during our stay! Highly recommend and can’t wait to return!

Gem of a Vacation

Just Perfect
Lovely accommodations with attention to the smallest detail for comfort, from the fairies hiding on front porch ceiling shelf to the new butterfly garden to the fluffy towels wrapped just so in coordinating baskets. Can’t wait to return!

Close to the beach, very comfortable cottage
We had a great family get away at the Three Gems! The cottage is located on a quiet street just a few minutes walk to the beach and also a short walk to the Black Currant bakery. The cottage has a nice layout with many different spaces which made it more fun to spend some time in the cottage to have dinner, play games and listen to the birds on the patio. The beds were comfortable. The bed linen, pillows and decorations are new and nicely selected. Susan and Victor were easy to reach. A wonderful stay overall!

Awesome house for family beach getaway!
We loved this house! It was a great location - about a 5 minute walk to the beach and also a short walk to the Black Currant Bakehouse for morning coffee. The house is so well designed and comfortable. We loved sitting in the backyard by the fire pit and on the hammock. The grill is great. The beds were comfortable and the bedding great! The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed! We were 7 and fit comfortably in the house. We had everything we needed including beach chairs and towels and a wagon to get it all to the beach. We highly recommend it and can’t wait to come back!

The Pefect Stay
We have rented several houses in Union Pier and this is by far the best one. Everything was top notch. We love to cook at home and the kitchen has everything you need and then some. And a Weber grill! Plus a large table to dine at if you have a bigger group. Also, towels, bedding etc great quality. I have stayed at many places where that was not the case. Great fire pit area in the yard where we sat at night several times. When the owners say a quick walk to the beach they mean it. I wouuld say about 5 minutes. I never really timed it due to how close it was. The beach was great and owners provided Tommy Bahama chairs and plenty of beach towels. Communication was great as I spoke with Susan serveral times. Will definitely be back. Thanks for a great week for our family.

Three Gems Cottage
Our overall experience could not have been better. The home owners answered all our questions cordially and quickly, provided us with everything we needed and worked hard to go above and beyond to insure we were comfortable.The house and grounds were clean and very accommodating. The house's closeness to Lake Michigan, especially the hot week we rented, was just what we needed. While we have not formally met the owners, we felt like we were staying at a friend's house rather then just renting. We highly recommend these owners and the house and property for others to enjoy. We certainly will endeavor to hook up with these owners and this property in the future.

Three Gems Cottage is a gem
A very comfortable cottage, well decorated and stocked with everything you need in the kitchen and throughout the house. The gardens surrounding the cottage were absolutely lovely at the beginning of August. Very short walk to great beach - soft sand and lovely vistas. The only caveat in the house might be that the stairs to go to the second floor are old and very shallow so anyone that is a bit unsteady may find them a challenge. As for the beach, the public area is fine, but it is bordered on both sides by prominent signs that read "Private Beach!" I don't think I have ever seen that posting before. We were a family of four adults and one four year old child and there was enough to do in the surrounding area. If you need a day trip, St. Joseph has a wonderful carousel and lots of shops and restaurants. p.s. the bakery in Union Pier is amazing and the hosts give a lot of restaurant information in a packet in the house.

The Three Gems Experience
If you are looking for that perfect place to start a lifetime of Family Vacation Memories, Three Gems in Union Pier on Lake Michigan's BEST piece of coastline is it! We have been bringing our family to Union Pier each summer for 13 years and now with my children grown and having children they want t come back and start their Family memories, Three Gems was the answer ! 1. Short walk to Lake and a spot used mainly by Locals so little competition for beach space! 2. All the creature comforts of home in a quaint mid century two story Lake house . 3.Quality and care are the words I use to describe the updating and remodeling the new owners have done to make this place special, not just furnished with their old couch and resale shop furnishings.4. Porch, Screen porch, fire pit, backyard, front yard, large dining table/area. 5. on and on.... Looking forward to next summer already, Thanks Susan for everything!!
