Enjoy the ultimate glamping by opening the windows in this beautiful Montana home or use this as your base camp for all your Big Sky adventures. Plan your stay while sitting out on the deck, drinking coffee, and listening to Wisconsin Creek bubbling by. Ruby River fishing access, less than two miles away, offers you a place to cast your line into a blue-ribbon trout stream.
About an hour away, you could consider an eastward jaunt to the Lewis and Clark Caverns or a stop at the Missouri Headwaters State Park which is the confluence of the Jefferson, Madison, and Gallatin Rivers. Travel south to historic Virginia City and Nevada City and step back into time in an1864 gold mining town, replete with stores stocked or indulge in some Tea and Scandal. Traveling North, you encounter Butte, America with the largest historic district in the United States. Take a trolley tour and see the sites or visit Our Lady of the Rockies for a panoramic view of the Pintlar and Highland Mountains. Traveling west from Butte, you can exit at Anaconda and travel down the Veterans Scenic Highway, past Silver Lake and Georgetown Lake into historic Philipsburg with their turn of the century iron front buildings. Have a homemade ice cream cone from the Philipsburg Creamery and at the end of the day, travel back to the Steakhouse at the Lakehouse for a Philipsburg Brewery Otterwater and a dinner you will talk about for years to come.
In the winter, Twin Bridges is located near three alpine ski areas—Maverick Mountain is less than an hour away and one hour and forty-five minutes to the east is Bridger Bowl or one hour and forty-five minutes to the west is Discovery. Less than an hour toward Butte on the old Highway 2 is cross-country skiing or onto Homestake Lodge just beneath the Continental Divide. Breath in winter at its cleanest and clearest.
