Casa Flamenco

Casa Flamenco is a newly-built 900 square foot detached two-story guest house set in the foothills of the Santa Catalina mountains. Our place is in a cul-de-sac so it is very quiet. It is decorated with quality furniture and unique artwork that reflects a southwestern flair. It has two outdoor spaces, one which overlooks an arroyo and the other, the Santa Catalina mountains. We are also close to La Paloma and Hacienda del sol resorts, convenient if you are attending an event.
The space
This space was built with a lot of love so has a very relaxing atmosphere about it. We wanted it to have a feel of a Mexico escape. We have a recently added on downstairs bedroom. This is great for those that use the downstairs bathroom at night.
Guest access
The guesthouse and its adjacent space.
Other things to note
We are very centrally located, close to La Encatada shopping center, Sabine canyon and many great restaurants.

Lovely Space Inside and Out
This very well appointed artistically, casita was almost everything I hoped for. The location is fantastic if you love the sky and the desert. I was not thorough enough about the amenities and did not ask enough of the host prior to my visit. And unfortunately there was no stove or very much refrigerator space. This is my bad, but maybe could be mentioned in the description. I loved that they thought to have a fresh bag of ice in the freezer. A few other things could use attention to make this a perfect stay. Instructions on the shower temp. The hide a bed needs a good cleaning Very squeaky window in front bedroom Limitations on the heating and air. No dishwashing cloth or sponge - had to purchase

Casa Flamenco Stay
Casa Flamenco was easily the nicest property we've selected to spend our vacation time. It is artfully decorated, and fulfilled all our needs. The views from the front patio were gorgeous. The location was convenient to restaurants and shopping.

Great location and space
I had a wonderful stay! The space was beautifully appointed, and the neighborhood was delightful – I truly enjoyed my time here. A couple of minor notes: I was a bit unsure of the garage location, and I wasn’t able to lower the temperature below 72 degrees, which was a little warmer than I prefer. Overall, though, a fantastic experience, and I’d definitely recommend it!

Unique Place to stay in Tucson
This is a very unique property as it was built be the owners and you can see the special love they put into it. I almost felt like I was in a museum staying there. There is a write up in the VBRO explaining the home and the inspiration behind it. The front yard offers a private table/seating area in a gated area, which was wonderful to enjoy the sunrises/sunsets from. The back patio bordered a home with dogs and though it was private with no humans in eyesight, I did have dogs barking at me if I sat outside. Communication with the owner was available, but very short responses, that did not elaborate. She was quick at times. I did have an issue with getting the address from the owner. Their guide in the VBRO did not have any checkout procedures, I guessed what should be done based on other VBRO stays. I never heard from the owner about my checkout questions or after I left.

Gorgeous Guest House
George’s property was absolutely stunning. The decor and design is unlike anything else I’ve seen. They clearly put a lot of love and customizations into this home. Even though it is a guest house, it is very private. It was just my husband and I but there was a large upstairs room for another couple. It’s a perfect space for four. The bed was comfortable. The linens were great and the outdoor space is spectacular. We usually don’t bring our dog, but we had to this trip and it was a great space for animals as well. We highly recommend space sometime in the future.

Not for older people
Casa Flamenco has a darling outdoor area and is located in a quiet neighorhood. What did't work for us is the interior. It is painted with dark, saturated colors. The bathroom is small and the shower very small and there is little room near the bathroom sink to place toiletries. There is an upstairs bedroom accessed by a winding steep staircase. The upstairs bedroom is light and sunny. The one bathroom is on the bottom floor so nighttime trips to the bathroom could be treacherous for somebody with knee problems or vision problems. The bottom floor bedroom was too dark and dreary for us. We could not make ourselves stay in this place so we left and rented a hotel room. We didn't want to ruin our vacation. I let the owner know we had to leave but I never heard back. In the end we paid double.

Cute and private casita that’s great for couples
The walled courtyard and decor both inside and outside of this casita are what make this property truly special! Couples wanting to experience the north Tucson foothills and have a bit more privacy and space than a traditional condo complex allows will really appreciate this spot. It was great for our small dog, too! There is a trail system in the desert just east of the street that’s perfect for morning and evening dog walks (it’s big with mountain bikers, so keep your eyes open when walking). Hosts Georgia and Howard couldn’t be more lovely, and a notebook in the casita provides Georgia’s phone number if you need anything. Just FYI: the second bedroom is a loft with spiral staircase, so anyone with mobility issues will need the downstairs bedroom, and privacy is limited in the loft, so it’s good for older kids, but not two couples on a longer-term vacation. The kitchen has no oven or cooktop, but there is a grill, toaster oven, microwave and pressure cooker (I struggled locking the lid), so you can make meals if you plan accordingly. And while there is a small refrigerator in the kitchen, there is a larger one with freezer in the storage room. It’s such a great spot, we will be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. As anticipated it was a memorable stay. It is a great location and our host Howard shared some great stories and facts about plants etc. We thoroughly enjoyed the property and all of the beautiful artifacts both inside and out. Wonderful house in a great location
We loved the design of the guest house and Georgia's decorating, and also loved the location at the end of a cul du sac in the Catalina Hills. We saw two beautiful Harris' hawks nearby, but the most exciting sighting during our 2-day stay was a bobcat seen from the kitchen window!

A unique gem in the Catalina foothills
The property is on a very quiet cul de sac with city and mountain views. Georgia and Howard have lovingly created an oasis of calm and serenity, with an abundance of art treasures through the casita and gardens of this gem of a casita!

Lovely home
A lovely place with comfortable and clean lodgings. Lots of love and detail in the home, the art, and beautiful space. Best sheets I've ever had at a lodging! Very nice that it is dog-friendly as well since we had a canine companion with us. Some hiccups with check-in but the host was responsive and got it figured out. Some awkward interaction with the host's husband, who was kind, but as quite private/ shy people we felt it was a bit too invasive when paying for our own space, not a house-share, to feel like it was hard to "get away" from forced interaction with him, but I bet that depends on if you happen to see them or not. Would have loved more instructions/ notes up front for check in, as I had to reach out to the host myself for information, and then received check-out tasks (take out garbage, etc) vi message after we'd already left in the AM. Recommend putting this info in the lodging for guest ease. Lovely space and kind people.

Christmas visit.
My brother sent us the listing for Casa Flamenco as a place to stay for our Christmas visit. It was close to everywhere we needed to be. The place was so cozy and beautifully decorated. We loved it. My only recommendation is padding for the upstairs bed as it is very hard. I would definitely stay here again.

Artful escape
We had such a great time at Casa Flamenco! We visited for a long weekend to see the 4th Avenue art fair and it was lovely to be staying at a place that was so artful itself. I appreciated the small details and Frida Kahlo motifs throughout. Parking was clearly marked and the neighborhood was wonderfully quiet. The hosts were lovely and responsive to any questions.
