"We loved it. We had a beautiful broom looking over the river. It was a spacious suite. We loved the clothes that came with staying in the Onsen. We had both suppers and breakfasts which were world class. The hot spring itself was a delightful surprise. The shuttle to get into town was convenient enough and we could always find a shuttle when we want to leave or come back. We spent two days there. I would go back in a heartbeat. The view looking over the river was spectacular. I’m not so sure if we had had a room looking out on the parking lot."

"Our stay was amazing. The hospitality that we received made us feel welcome and comfortable. The staff communicated with us regarding dinner, and even though we arrived late to the hotel, they did their best to accommodate us. The hotel is located above Shirakawa-Go and you truly feel the nature as you are completely away from touristic locations. The wooden interior provides a rural charm that relaxes you. The onsen ,which is located outside, is perfect to relax from your travels. You only hear the nature and it allows you to connect with the location."

"Easily the best place I stayed in whilst in Japan. It’s a ryokan and yet it has full 5 star hotel features. I chose a room with a private outdoor Onsen bath and kaiseki dinner option. Room was huge (75sq/m) with a separate bedroom, living room and sitting area with a wood burner. I started the fire and sat there for hours in between my private lovely hot onsen. There was also a vast public sitting room with massage chairs overlooking the shrine. Gorgeous. Mealtimes I looked forward to as it was gourmet level Japanese meal - everytime. I could not fault it at all. A big shout to Aki who looked after me - she was an amazing hostess 10/10 perfect. Hida furukawa is still a hidden gem with 2 sake breweries and old edo style street with wooden houses (now shops). This was my perfect stay and I will be back again and again. "
