"While the staff were friendly and the entrance to the hotel seemed nice, the room wasn’t cleaned properly. There were hairs all over the bathroom. The walls were faded and stained in spots. The walls were thin. I could hear children playing across the hall and a group having a drinking party in their room at the other end of the building. In short, it was an old business hotel badly in need of renovation. "

"I was new to Japanese culture. The hotel was very clean and hospitable. The bed was very stiff and a room for 3 adults was one big bed to share. We were expecting a hotel like the USA. Different but I think for the area it was well done."

"The hotel wasn’t fancy, but it was competent. It is a slightly upscale business hotel. The rooms were cramped but clean, and the breakfast offerings were smaller than usual, but the menu was thoughtful and offered something for everybody. The hotel seeks to differentiate itself with a family-friendly image. They offer a free toy to each child after breakfast, plus a free-use toy cabinet in the lobby to entertain them during down times. The toys are well-taken care of. There is no feeling that...

"Hinotani is a seasonal find, like a good sake or cigar by the riverside, with tatami rooms, intelligent and proactive staff, and a Japanese experience that is local but aims to be international. The water park below is an eyesore that runs to summer end, but the food and room view in the morning - don't look down - are Japan's essentials, and add fall moon, nice baths, local drink and humor in F1season , and the immediate patron reflection is 'when will I be back?',"

Close to train station, dining, shopping :)

"Wonderful experience! Friendly and helpful staff, clean and large room (Annex Grande), good restaurant, relaxing onsen, beautiful lobby lounge with delicious amenities, self-laundry available, luggage storage available, easy parking. You have to walk out onto the street and re-enter the premises (adjacent bldg) to access the restaurant and onsen if you reserve a room on the Annex Grande side of the hotel. Besides that minor detail, it was a great stay and would reserve again! "

"This hotel gave us a surprise if its room size which is bigger than expected. There are also chairs with coffee table in the room which is rare in most of the hotel rooms in Japan. Hotel’s breakfast is fantastic and hotel owner is really putting lots of efforts and heart in its hospitality to all guests."
