Summary:
A cosy 2-bedroom beach house with everything you should need for a trip to Porthtowan. This beach house is the perfect spot for enjoying a trip to the beautiful coastal town of Porthtowan. The space sleeps up to 7 guests with versatile sleeping options. Furthermore, all the local amenities are very close by. Just a 10 minute walk away is Porthtowan beach, several cafes, pubs and restaurants. Ample free parking available right outside the cottage.
The Space:
Sleeps up to 5 guests in the bedrooms, made up of a master bedroom with distant sea views, a second bedroom which can be set up with either 3 single beds or 1 single and a king size bed. There is also the possibility to sleep an additional 2 guests on the sofa bed in the living room. The bedrooms both share a good sized bathroom with shower/bath unit and toilet.
Downstairs there is a cosy living space with comfortable seating. We have an electric look-a-like woodburner, so is great for winter stays too. There is also a flat-screen TV, selection of books and WIFI to keep you (and the kids!) entertained. The kitchen/diner is well equipped with everything you should need for cooking meals during your stay. It includes a microwave, toaster, kettle, oven, hob, dishwasher. There is also a washing machine to be used at your convenience.
Infront of the house is a large garden shared between our cottage and 2 others. With unobstructed views of the valley below and out to sea, this space is the perfect spot to relax during summer stays. What's more, the sun sets out to sea in front of you, which only adds to the tranquillity!
17 South Wheal is set in a charming and quiet residential area, we ask all guests are considerate of the neighbouring families during your stay.
Porthtowan is a secluded beach town with a great selection of cafes, restaurants, pubs and takeaways. Several of these are right on the beach and are perfect for having a relaxing drink at sunset! There is also a small convenience store. The beach is very popular with surfers and has consistent surf for most of the year. There is also a surf school for beginners and lots of places to rent equipment.
5 minutes drive around the headland is the larger town of St Agnes, which also has a wide range of shops and places to eat & drink. Alternatively, you can walk round to St Agnes via the beautiful coastal paths.

The Neighborhood:
The house is in a quiet and peaceful terrace of houses, just 10 minutes walk down into the centre of Porthtowan and the beach.
Getting Around:
Due to the remote nature of Cornwall, a car is recommended for getting the most out of your stay here.
Other Things to Note:
Guests with mobility problems should be aware that to access the property they will need to climb a set of steps leading up from the parking area. The front door has a few steps leading up to it, but the back door has step free access. Please be aware that the walk back up from the beach can be quite steep.
