Boasting all of the rustic mountain vibes you are after while still having modern comforts and an expansive layout, this Truckee lodge is the perfect place to bring the whole family for an unforgettable vacation. As soon as you step foot inside, you will be greeted by tall ceilings, log-cabin siding, an expansive stone fireplace, plenty of places to kick back in bliss, and stylish mountain decor! Start and end each day with a tasty meal prepared in the gourmet kitchen complete with a gas range, stainless steel appliances, and a dishwasher for easy cleanup. A formal dining room awaits, so everyone can gather and tell stories about the day. The main living area on the second floor will be ideal for entertaining, yet the kiddos will love claiming the lower floor that is home to another flatscreen TV, a sectional sofa, and bunk beds. Head upstairs and you will find the main bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and the loft area featuring a pool table for some friendly competition.

Though you will want to stay inside during the winter months, the summer will be just as fun with the expansive wraparound deck with plenty of seating, stunning mountain views, and lush greenery as far as the eye can see! Not to mention, this getaway is perched on a hill with lots of room for kids to play away from the street and is across from Alder Creek. Easy access to many hidden gem hiking, snowshoeing, and dirt biking trails is also a plus!

Beautiful cabin!
The cabin is spacious and I believe plenty of room for 8 people as listed. There were only six of us this time. We have rented many cabins before, but this one is by far the best one. Many beaches nearby, such as kings beach, crystal bay, and Sand harbor beach, shops and restaurants. TherneRaleevrythmeed.

Log Cabin Luxe
Generous proportions with three bedrooms, three full baths, plus a bunk room for the kids as part of the family room. Marvelous great room with dramatic stone fireplace. Kitchen well appointed. Massive tv was fantastic for watching a movie. Loved the log cabin vibe.

Overall we liked the privacy of the house and the interior was clean. However, the wifi was not great, the exterior was filthy making the outdoors very uninviting. The outdoor furniture is old, and very dusty and the decking is unstable and even had caution tape up along the front railing. Lastly, there was a rodent in the house, which we never saw, but saw the droppings. We made the most of this stay, and hope improvements will be made to make this property more enjoyable for others who stay here.

Beautiful home in large private property
My family and I stayed for 4 nights. We were looking for a somewhat private property and this was perfect. Close to town but very private. Home was beautiful. Property around the home was great as well. Driveway was snow plowed very soon after snow accumulated. Home has plenty of space even for larger families. Pool table was a great fun activity.

The house was pretty spacious. Other then finding rat poop in one of the kitchen drawers but we ddnt use them so it was all good.. Rooms were clean a long with living room kitchen and top pool table room👌

Poor property management
After several requests to speak with a property manager we only continued to only get premade responses to the problems found at the property. The home is nice but like many STR’s they need maintenance and this one is needing it. As you walk to the front door on the second floor patio you see the fall hazard covered in caution tape. The patio rail is coming apart. Then the key box code is a phone number that is no longer in service so no door keys. We had to use the garage door code each time we can and went. The plumbing needs to be address. Hot water takes nearly 2 min to get to the sink. The shower head sprays water all over the place and the shower tub doesn’t drain well. The twin beds feel like they are designed for the weight of a child and not comfortable for an adult. The driveway is very long and dark. Would be nice to have some lighting on that. The house is totally dark in the woods when you approach. It is a huge house and has lots of beds. Would be great for a large family gathering if they maintained the property. Blinds were broken and hanging by a string. Rugs scrunched up under the pool table and beds leaving tripping hazards. Reported to PM and no responce other than automated messages.

Rodent and internet issues.
The property is very nice and in a great location but we found mouse droppings all over tbr home. At one point, I even saw one climb a lamp across the room. Couldn’t believe my eyes. Second, the internet was out the entire time, no tv, no internet. Property manager was very kind and offered a credit for each day is was out, still looking for credit. Wouldn’t stay here again or bring family due to rodent infestation but otherwise property and views were fine.

Needs Maintenance
This is a beautiful cabin with lots of wonderful space for a family or multiple families. However, it is in need of some maintenance in several areas. We ran the dishwasher and water started spilling out from under the sink, so we could not use it. There were lots of huge ants in the kitchen area when we arrived, the shower head in one of the bathrooms would not stay in its cradle so it had to be hand held. The balcony railing on the second floor was totally broken and creates a huge hazard for anyone who may try to lean on it. All the chairs up near the gazebo on the hill were broken/cracked. We checked out a day early because of all the issues. We notified the property management but have not heard back. Nice place it just needs some TLC.

White Christmas
A beautiful log home with just the right amount of privacy. The large 3 bed + bunkroom/TV room was perfect for our getaway. Our teenage grandkids loved the downstairs bunkroom and also the loft area that had a pool table. The bedrooms had comfy beds and bedding. We loved the large fireplace in the great-room and enjoyed a fire each evening. We loved having the family gather in the dinning room for meals. The kitchen had plenty of dishes for cooking and serving meals. The eat in kitchen was a great spot for coffee in the morning with a beautiful view of the mountains. The kids enjoyed using the slopped driveway as a sledding trail, while outside we did encounter bears. Yes we are in their habitat so just a word of caution. We quickly gather the kids and got into the house. We watched from the kitchen window, the 2 cubs played and tumbled in the snow. Exciting to watch from the kitchen but a good reminder to be aware. About 5 minutes into watching the cubs BIG Mama strolled through. We have a small frenchie and after seeing the bears we used the fenced dog run downstairs. Overall a fantastic home!

Mouse and Ant Issues
First off the property is nice and spacious. It would have been a great stay had it not been for pest issues that go well beyond what you would expect for a property like this. We spotted LOTS of mice in the property. At least 20+ times. They literally would just run around the kitchen while we were in it. Furthermore, there was mice poop in two of the beds. I continued to find mouse droppings all throughout the house during our stay (near the trash, on the floor, by the couch etc). We found a mouse nesting area in the downstairs couch underneath the cushions. Right near it, we also found a baby mouse that had literally just been born (couldn't even walk yet really). There were also a ton of large black ants in the kitchen. Look, I understand that this is a cabin in the woods, however, the amount of pest issues we had is well beyond what I would have expected. I contacted management to try and fix the issue and all that was done was 2-3 mouse traps were placed during our stay. No other effort to rectify the situation has been made. I have photos of the issues and even caught some photos of the mice (they were fast, but they were spotted so many times it gave me ample time to catch some pictures!). Please be aware of these issues.

The Law Family
The cabin was the highlight of our trip! This place is a beautiful, spacious, clean, well located vacation home. The rooms are large and comfortable. We actually rate it higher than a “4” it’s probably closer to a “5.” PROS: Location – Very close to downtown Truckee and Donner Lake State Park. Close by North Lake Tahoe, kayak rentals, jet ski rentals and Kings Beach. Quiet, no other cabins can be seen or heard, long private driveway helps seclusion. Decks going all around. Garage – large two car garage connected to basement entry door with two separate operating garage doors. Pet Friendly – It had a doggy door leading to a decent sized, fenced in dog-run outside under a deck. The Kitchen - Great (Gourmet?) and had fantastic appliances but lacked a few simple things. Large breakfast nook. Large dining room table. Living Room – Large open ceiling, television, fireplace, double doors leading to back deck. Master Bedroom – huge, great view, door going outside to ground level below. Master Bath - very large with a jacuzzi tub, large shower and two separate vanity/sinks. Loft – Equipped with a nice pool table, couch and chair. Bedrooms – Sweet queen beds near bathroom and kitchen. Bathrooms – very nice and convenient. One on each of the THREE floors. Good toiletries provided. Basement – it was a large man or woman cave with a huge flat screen TV! Wow! We didn’t use the bunk beds, but they looked great. The Beds - Very comfortable, especially the king bed in the Master Bedroom. CONS: Area Rugs – under the master bed and pool table had huge wrinkles that could be tripped on. The living room rug curls up on the edge. Chalk – No chalk for pool cues. Shower Head (handheld) - for second floor bathroom did not fit in slot. You have to hold it while showering. Bath Towels – Barely enough, a few more would be nice. Double Doors leading to the back deck – one door was not locked down and the other door was tricky to lock. I looked back on the first email I got, and it explained how to lock it. Putting that note on another page like where the network password or entry codes would be nice or at the cabin or on the door itself.

A great place to stay
Everything about this cabin made our trip even better. It was spacious, very clean, the beds were all comfortable. The pool table was a lot of fun at nights, and once I figured out the TV, we had access to just about anything we could possibly want to watch. The property is private, stunning, and literally offers a dozen places to sit outdoors and enjoy yourself. We loved the kitchen, and only ate 2 meals out the whole week we were here, which saved us a lot of money. Everything was well stocked in the and lots of instructions posted with trash information, etc. One word of advice - make sure you read and follow the instructions to lock the glass doors. We thought we had them locked, and returned from a day out to find a bear and two cubs in the kitchen! Luckily, they left right away and other than eating our food, didn't cause any damage. VACASA did provide us with the right instructions, we just didn't quite catch the latch right, so make sure you follow them! I also used the text option to communicate more than once, and received responses quickly each time. If we ever stay in the area again we will stay here. Highly recommend.

Great location. Lot of space and plenty of rooms
The place is wonderful with lot of rooms. Enough for three families to stay comfortably. The backyard with tall pine trees are amazing. Short walk leads to a amazing scenic gazebo where you can sit and enjoy the sunset or sunrise. It was a true log cabin with all the furniture matching to the theme. Well stocked kitchen. Overall it was a great place to enjoy a peaceful vacation.

We loved this house and location! Private, spacious, well appointed, thoughtful touches, and easily accommodated our family. The property is gorgeous. Easy to get to the lakes, town, etc. We were all so happy with our stay, we hope to make this trip annually.

Wonderful location
This is a great house is an amazing location! Secluded for neighbors, and in the trees. We had a very great trip and would definitely stay here again. There are a few issues however. 1. Ants!! So many carpenter ants. I guess that’s expected with where the house is located though. 2. Unfortunately the house does have mice. I noticed droppings in the upstairs bathroom, mice got into our food in the pantry, and my son saw one in the downstairs bathroom late one night! Again, I suppose this is because of where the house is located, but for the price we paid it was disappointing to have to deal with mice. 3. There are two rugs upstairs that do not lay flat! They are on top of carpet and have big wrinkles. It honestly looks like my 6 year old threw the rugs down. We tried to straighten them, but the big wrinkled just won’t lay flat. Pretty annoying and a tripping hazard for young kids. Overall we had a great time, if these issues were worked out our experience would have been perfect!

Beautiful, comfortable, quiet - but rough internet
Beautifully appointed, clean, hike out the back, beds big and comfortable - loved the house. However, no/low internet. Internet router taken, and replacement 'hotspot' had low/no capacity, so we used our cells as hotspots with patchy results.

No WIFI on property
The views and property are amazing. The furnishings and cleanliness were great. The lodge type, log cabin feel and the size of the beams/logs was impressive. The house was huge and comfortable. Downside was that there was no wifi in the house. Two different people looked through every inch of the house twice each! Only a box for a router was found. So we had no internet for the whole stay. The other concern was that the garage code for entry to the property only worked on arrival. The rest of the time we had to leave the house with a hide-a-key we found. It appeared to have been left unsecured in a key box that should have needed a code to open (or something). Not sure what was going on with that. This was my first corporate type VRBO and the disconnect from reaching a property steward was disappointing. Fix those issues and you have an amazing stay!
