This is such a beautiful home! Very stylishly decorated with modern appliances and all the comforts that you need. We are grateful to have stayed here!
Impeccably decorated - so cute. Extra comfortable (and warm!!) bedding. ALL the comforts of home and so close to ski lodge. Me and my family just loved staying here!!
This cabin was one of the most beautiful cabins we stayed at in truckee. All the beds were super comfortable and warm. What i like the most about this place was the moose decor all over and the personal pictures displayed. I definitely would cime back here!
The cabin is so convenient and close to downtown Truckee and the drive to and from is easy. The inside is welcomingand cozy and had all of the comforts of home. There were 8 of us total staying and plenty of space for everyone. The hot tub was a treat in the winter cold, too. Thank you for the lovely vacation, Debbie!
We absolutely loved the back yard for this weekend stay! Our kids aged 10 and 12 rarely used any screens in the evening as we enjoyed the corn hole game, the fire table, and the hot tub. The Bluetooth sound system made it fun.We had every meal at the outdoor table. We even made a point of using the chaise loungers to drink our coffee in the morning. Great location and really cool place to hang out in nature!

Wonderful cabin!
We truly enjoyed our stay! The house fit our 2 families nicely, and there was a lot of outdoor space for all to enjoy. The nice outdoor furniture, jacuzzi, hammock, waterfall, fire pit, and bbq make this a great place to entertain. Kitchen is well stocked. Also the owner is a pleasure to work with. The only suggestion we would make is to reduce the amount of fragrances inside the home (allergies!) but other than that, our stay couldn't have been better! We will definitely rent this home again.
The house was very well put together. Nice furniture , good beds, plenty of utensils. The atmosphere was home yet felt luxurious. All around the property was taken care of and landscaped. We all actually sat outside and chatted on the comfortable lawn furniture. All the TV worked and the Wifi was easy to access. My dog were mostly happy but as usual when we travel they have a bit of unfamiliarity and are lost for a day or two. Communication with Debbie was great. We loved your house for our first time in Tahoe-Donner.

vacation
The home was lovely, the only thing was, that the owner should replace the living room rug, it had bad dog urine odors....other than that, the home is fully stocked with everything you need...Our vacation was cut short in the 2nd day due to my wife becoming ill and requiring her to seek medical attention, forcing us to return home, cutting our Anniversary/vacation short by 4 days.....The owner is very nice, however, she refused to refund any of the monies. for the remaining 4 days..So make sure your able to stay the entire length you have booked for, or able to lose the balance..It is a beautiful area and a lovely home though. Next time I will book a cabin right on the water, this cabin would be more perfect in winter for snow skiing because it so close.

Only if you're desperate
I will start off by saying the backyard was amazing, perfectly set up for family time and relaxing. Debbie the owner was a pain in the butt to deal with. There is so much clutter and decor I had to put stuff away so my kids wouldn't break anything. My three year old accidentally ran through the screen door and it came off its tracks and Debbie is having us pay and extra 150 to replace it, which I completely understand however she also nickel and dimed us even more because her house cleaner had extra cleaning which is very strange because we left the house in fine condition. We didn't empty the trash cans on our way out (just forgot with the commotion of packing up three kids) and we were charged and extra 250 dollars!! Maybe Debbie needs a new cleaner?! Lastly I didn't like the location, the street is a pass way for other streets so people are constantly flying bye...not great for littles riding their bikes. My husband and I have been renting homes with our kids and dog for many years and never experienced such horrendous service.
Great property but be ready to deal with relentless owner
This property is nice and it is clean. However it was not worth the stay dealing with the owner. Debbie confronted me via text about how our dogs created an accident in 3 places in the house. I apologized and I was sincerely sorry for the accident that my dogs had caused. Good thing we paid for pet and cleaning fees. However, Debbie continued to berate me with additional costs, our negligence as renters, and lecture us on how their dogs would never do such a thing in the house. Mind, you we didn't treat the place like Led Zepplin on the top floor of the Marriot on the Sunset in Los Angeles. It was reparable accident that can be resolved by the additional cleaning and pet cost deposit. If i could give Debbie some advice:
1. Be consistent with how you communicate ALL the rules and expectations and how you present it through your communications. We saw conflicting rules between VRBO, multiple texts, emails, and home manuals. Also be clear about what the cost of the cleaning fee and pet fee takes care of.
2. Be kind. Your reactionary tone and judgements over texts are disturbing and upsetting. Not something anyone would want especially after our wedding ceremony on Donner Lake that weekend.
I hope this review doesn't come across as a rant. Rather be kind and professional.
Lovely home, with a resort quality backyard. Spectacular outdoor setting! Also, although temperature was in the high 80’s to 90 degrees, the house stayed remarkably cool with all the shutters and black out drapes closed during the day while we were at the lake. Our 9 year old daughter loved the loft play area. We did bring our own tower style floor fan and put it in the loft for her to play, as it was quite hot up there. Suggest adding a floor fan to the home,
Debbie’s place is great for kids and adults. We were able to do a few outdoor activities that were near by. The house has everything you need. We definitely would come back
This cabin was the perfect place for our family of 4. The kitchen was VERY well stocked with everything we could need, the games and toys were great, the playroom in the loft was awesome for our 5 year old, the furniture was comfy and cozy, and the hot tub was so fun in the snow. Added bonus that it was only 5 minutes away from the ski area. Highly recommended! We will definitely return.
Owner very responsive! All our questions were answered. Had an issue overnight with fireplace “beeping” for a solid 20 hours. That was crazy maddening but the owner handled it as quickly as she could.
Recommendations:
A household manual for how things work and where to find remotes/flashlights/batteries would be top of my list.
Would upgrade main room tv
A sharp shovel or two on hand to clear stairs of ice.
Kitchen silverware could use replenishing and knives could use sharpening.
Reduce tabletop/sideboard decor. Limited space to put guest items down without relocating large decor.
Replace trunk in bunk room with a dresser and put hangers in the closet.
Our experience was positive although there was lack of communication on many areas. We lost power for most of t he time and needed a list of where everything was and what to do for the huge amounts of snow. We did stay warm until the snow covered the roof totally, didn’t know where the grill was as it would have been nice to be able to cook on it. Did not know there was someone to shovel driveway. Had to leave a say early as we would have been stranded many more days without power. Need a generator, had no flashlights spent $140. On flashlights and candles. The house is cute and comfortable, and we felt safe there with a huge storm going on.
This cabin truly is special. No expense has been spared to make its guests feel right at home. It stands out that far above its competition that I’ll base my future Tahoe/Truckee visits on its availability. Why stay at something nice if you can stay at the absolute exceptional for the same price.
This home was the best VRBO we have ever stayed in. It was clean, had every amenity you would ever need , and close to fun outside activities to do with the family. Our favorite was the backyard where we could sit and listen to the birds and bask in the beauty of nature.
The home and property is decorated with luxury and comfortable cabin furniture and decor. We had a wonderful time even though we were greeted by snow and wind for several days. The hot tub was inviting and fun to use. This is a great home, cabin to stay in when vacationing in the Truckee area.
We stayed here for 4 nights over Mothers Day weekend. The place is clean, smells amazing, and had the perfect amenities for us. We are 2 adults and 2 kids (ages 5 and 7 so we only used the master and bunk bed bedrooms). We were in town to visit with some other families so we were gone during the day but never complained about having this house to come home to. The kids loved the bunk beds (I liked how sturdy and high the sides were so I felt confident neither kid would fall out.) And the "secret kid area" loft that only had access via the master bedroom ( so we knew they weren't playing when they shouldn't be like after bedtime.) We enjoyed the hot tub and never had want for anything in the kitchen (except we never found the spatula, although I'm sure it's there since the kitchen has everything else.) The couch was comfortable for family movie night and we only wish we had more time to enjoy the other amenities we didn't use (fire pit, bbq, hammock, etc ) The home has a few quirks like the copper sink you can't use dish soap in or running the irobot/mop before leaving each day, but neither was that much of an inconvenience, just something to be aware of and it keeps the place looking nice. Heads up though, if you bring a pup be sure they are very well behaved and pay close attention to the rules (there are quite a few and we were glad we left ours at home.) The home is beautiful and while comfortable, should only be used for the most well-behaved fur pups. :) We would love to return at some point as this was a family favorite vacation for sure.
