Carrie is a super amazing host! Excellent communication! Cabin was quaint and clean. Looking to book all the cabins for a family vacay! Thank you again for a memorable experience!
This is a nice small cabin with a great view of the lake. We stayed for one weekend off season but I am sure it is a great place to vacation in the summer. It has everything you need, very clean, and the hosts go out if their way to make sure you are comfortable. It is an upgrade from camping but if luxury is your style, it isnāt for you.
Great location that was close to all of the UP things we wanted to do. The lake view from cabin was wonderful. The kitchen pots and pans arenāt stocked very well so bring your own if you plan to cook a lot. Otherwise we loved it!
The cabin was cozy & clean and was nicely located on Trout Lake. Carrie was very easy to reach and prompt in her responses. She also went out of her way to accommodate us, as we changed our plans 3 times over. Overall, great stay! Definite recommend.
The cottage was clean, comfortable and peaceful. Trout Lake was beautiful and we were able to see and hear Lunes almost every day. Carrie is an amazing hands on host and is so helpful and easy to communicate with. She even texted us on our way up to make sure we had her contact information! Would love to return in the future as it felt like an āOld Michiganā resort and I hope this gem is around a long time to come!
We loved the swim spot, watching sunrises, campfires at sunset, the Buckhorn in town, and the proximity for day trips to Kitch-iti-kipi and The Shipwreck Museum.
The bed and bathroom could use an upgrade for the price per night; however, we weren't staying in the cabin for its amenities. :)
Right on the lake. It was very hot š„µ the weekend we were there so that was a personal issue for me. Had issue with water pressure so 2 days without a shower. It is a place I would stay again. Super nice host.

The weather was miserable, but the cost of this rental was too high. The property was overpriced given what was provided.
We rented cabin #2 to use as a base for our riding trip. The resort was as expected (quaint cabin in the UP) and the manager checked in with us in person once and via text. The place was very busy, most cabins were full but all staying were very friendly and respectful. We have one reactive dog that barks at strangers. Due to this issue (of our own making) the resort didn't work well for us. No one complained however we do not want to be disrespectful of others vacations. We would stay again without our noisy pet. We recommend if you want a place to ride directly to the trails (about 1/4 mile away).
We arrived to our cozy cabin ready to relax and enjoy our anniversary. Carrie had windows open and had messaged prior to our arrival regarding where to find the key. The cabin is a quaint little place to get away from all the noise-what we needed! Carrie was attentive our whole stay, able to guide us where to go for a good meal, how to use the little boat, and a quick fix-it job on our stove knobs. Itās a northern Michigan cabin! Nothing fancy. It had all we needed. One thing that would have been helpful was a way to get weather in case the tv isnāt working. A cheap radio maybe? We would definitely return in the future. Thank you!
This cabin was a great value and the location was ideal to explore the Eastern UP! We loved that it was pet friendly and had a paddle boat for our use (and a fishing boat for each cabin!). It has a cozy rustic feel and everything was in working order during our stay. The resort consists of 5 cabins on a lot so you share all outdoor amenities (dock, firepit) pretty closely. The sunrises were absolutely beautiful over the lake and we enjoyed our stay!
The perfect end to our U.P. weeklong trip. We spent 2 nights at Trout Lake to recharge, relax and rest before driving home to lower MI. Carrie was a respnsive and welcoming hostess. We would definitely stay here again.
We stayed for sxs trip. Did not realize the full extent of the amenities! Each cabin has it's own boat with motor available for use! Owner called me by name in passing despite never meeting her prior. Rustic, cozy, and adorable!
I loved our stay at the cabin! It was relatively inexpensive compared to other resorts, clean, quiet, and so relaxing! Carrie was an awesome host. The only thing people should know is there is no phone signal unless you go right down to the water's edge. This place is pretty centrally located in the UP, so we spent many days on day trips to just explore. I would definitely stay there again!
