Beautiful setting
We spent a lovely week at Cascina Bricchetto. The house was very comfortable and the views stunning. Our two boys (age 4 and 2) enjoyed the gardens and play area, in particular the sandpit. Giovanna was really helpful recommending local restaurants and we spent a few days exploring local towns and villages. Highly recommended.

Fantastic Farmhouse!
The hostess, Giovanna, was a great help to even before we checked in. She helped us locate and reserve restaurants and wine tastings that fit within our budget. While we were there, she was always there to help if we needed it. The farmhouse is truly charming. It is nicely decorated and has everything you would need. The views of the valley below are spectacular. My husband and I went out to the terrace by the garage every evening for a glass of wine. Views from there are spectacular as well. I would highly recommend this property.

Magical 4 days in Piedmont
We loved our stay at Giovanna's traditional country house this week. Giovanna is a very attentive and kind host whose sole wish is that her guests enjoy their stay to the fullest. From tips and advice on where to go and what to do, to keeping cupboards stocked with essentials, including toys for children! Giovanna's place was exactly what we needed for our 4 days stay in Piedmont. A home away from home. We would love to return in the future. Giovanna does have 2 dogs, one of which is young and very boisterous but Giovanna was completely aware and ensured to keep the dog restrained around our small children.

A wonderful house for a visit to Piedmont
My colleagues and I spent three nights at Casino Bricchetto while visiting Piedmont for wine tasting. The house is beautiful - restored retaining some of the original architecture while being very comfortable and up to date. The rooms are spacious and the kitchen and bathrooms have are all new. While atop a hill with great views, our visits to Barolo and Barbaresco and environs were all within 30-45 minutes drive. Our host Giovanna took great care to make us lunch and dinner reservations and also assisted with booking tastings. She also prepared wonderful breakfast with local meats and cheeses, breads, and home made cake. I'd definitely recommend Cascina Bricchetto and hope to stay there again with family in the future.

A Fantastic Find
Giovanna was a great hostess who looked after all of our needs whether it was a recommendation for a market or reservation at one of the many fantastic restaurants she knows of. The house, while somewhat remote, is close enough to drive to several quaint villages in less than half an hour. You can be on a main highway in less than 20 minutes. The house is beautifully decorated and well appointed and very clean! Her kitchen is fun to cook in and is well stocked with the basics. We loved the views of the surrounding vinyards and glimpses of the mountains on clear days. A great place for people wanting to be off the beaten track and appreciate the wonderful countryside.

Fabulous Stay in The Langhe
Highly recommended accommodation set in the beautiful hills and vineyards of The Langhe. Cascina Bricchetto is situated on a hilltop with stunning 360 degree views of Italy's finest wine region and out to the Alps. It is a place of incredible beauty and tranquillity. The location and the quality of the accommodation were perfect for a 5-day visit to the Barolo and Barbaresco areas of Piemonte. The unit was very clean, well equipped and comfortable in every way. But the best part of our visit was the wonderful warmth and hospitality of our host Giovanna. What an absolute joy to have such a special person like Giovanna to look after us - it felt like staying with an old friend! With her local knowledge, she provided excellent guidance and recommendations for winery visits and restaurants. Our visit would not have been the same without her. Already making plans to return next year -- thanks for everything Giovanna!!!!

Beautiful house with a great hostess
We had an amazing time at Cascina Bricchetto. Giovanna deserves more than a 10 out of 10. She really goes above and beyond to ensure that her guest have everything they can wish for. The house is very nice. Nicer even than the photos. The finishes are very good with modern amenities like double glazing. Thanks to the shutters on the windows the house stayed a nice temperature, even though there was a heat wave outside. So we slept comfortably. The house is located with 360 views of vineyards and the surroundings. The views are beautiful. There is a very nice garden. Our children loved playing in them. And there are two nice terraces with a roof where you can enjoy the views and a nice glass of wine or coffee or dinner. The house is very clean. Given the farm-like environment, it is amazing how clean the place is. Giovanna really takes care of her guests, the house and everything in it. We would love to come back someday.

An elegant stay in the rustic Piemonte coutryside
My husband and our four children are living in Italy for the year. As such, we have travelled all over northern Italy, and stayed in many, many, lovely places. The was the best. First, the house sits quietly on a green hill, a top a winery, and looks unassuming from the front. Inside, everything is spotless, comfortable, warm, and beautiful. The kitchen is perfectly set-up [and more], with ample room for the six of us. A highchair was graciously provided at no extra cost. The bedrooms all have stunning views, comfortable beds, pretty sheets, and quality furniture. Bathrooms are spotless and equipt with the essentials. If you choose to take breakfast -- and I recommend that you do -- you are provided with a variety of local cuisine, all top-quality and delicious. If you are lucky, Giovanna will make a breakfast cake, as she did for us. The location is wonderful for those looking for an off-the-path place, delicious food, and wine tours. We were there for the Alba truffle festival, and found the city and the festival to be worth a visit .. even with small children. The kids loved out stay, too: the outside space is set-up perfectly for children, and many toys are provided for us. Finally, and importantly, Giovanna is reason enough to go and seek out this place. She is warm, lovely, kind and sincere, and the love of her place and the land is felt all around. It is vacation place as much about the feeling you will get from staying there, as it is for the beautiful house and its contents. Highly recommended. We will return.

Beautiful views in a spotlessly clean and comfortable home
Giovanna is a lovely hostess and we appreciated her thoughtful food preparations. Her home is well equipped and comfortable. The property is a convenient drive for wine tasting in Barbaresco. Her large dog is excitable and jumps up high without warning. His bark is the only noise - the property is very quiet. The views of Mont Monviso are stunning from the top of the hill. The wifi is good but there is no tv or entertainment. We could stream our own movies on an iPad. No screens on windows so beware the critters and bugs and no air conditioning so beware the heat of the summer - we were fine in late September.

Beautiful farmhouse on a hill overlooking vineyards
The house was very clean and every detail was considered. Giovanna graciously welcomed us with a wonderful local wine from a small winery, as well as homemade baked goods. We lacked for nothing during our stay. She had many recommendations of possible activities and destinations. We were 2 couples and the house was perfectly suited for us. The views were breathtaking and the house remained cool during a hot spell, without the aid of air conditioning. We took advantage of the local markets and cooked in several evenings enjoying the local pasta, produce and meat. We would definitely return to Cascina Bricchetto Langhe.

Excellent property and situation
Away from it all, Casina Bricchetto offers spectacular views over vineyards and, in the distance, the Alps. Giovanna, the owner, provides a warm welcome with some nice welcoming touches. The hazelnut cake was delicious. She is willing, if asked, to provide local information and help with bookings. The house is very well equipped, comfortable and cool with access to outside dining space. Ideally situated for exploring the Langhe area and all that it has to offer which is considerable.

Great location, very comfortable, marvellous
We chose to stay at Cascina Bricchetto after looking at several properties in the area of Alba and Asti. We made the right decision!! We were travelling with two other couples and therefore wanted plenty of room in the house. The Grape Pergola House gave us three generous double bedrooms, each with their own bathroom equipped with a shower. The house also had a wonderful kitchen stocked with ample kitchen appliances, cutlery and crockery, and of course wine glasses!! One of the aims of taking a country house was so that the avid cooks among our group could do what they do best. We shopped at the local village markets for the majority of our food and on most days were home for lunch and dinner. Giovanna Oliveri is a wonderful host who did everything that we could have wanted to make our stay enjoyable. Being wine lovers we targeted that area of Italy with the intention of leaning more about Italian wine. We visited many of the historic towns in the general area plus going by train to Turin on one of the days. One of the most delightful aspects of staying at Cascina Bricchetto is to wake up every morning to the most wonderful view over surrounding hills covered in forests and vineyards. It was a truly great holiday and we would recommend the property to anyone wanting a country holiday.

Fantastic view from hill top !
We had a wanderful time at this property location was top of the hill and we had 360 degree panoramic view for grape field. Time was just for harvest farmers are working on taking grapes out of tree. Owner has lovely two dogs very friendly and cute. We asked owner to make arragement for local restourant that was great her recommendation was just light and we enjoy very much. We strongly recommend that if you have a plan to visit Alba stay at this place. Most of local atructions are within 15 to 30 minuets drive.

A breathtaking location
My husband and I spent a week in the Bread Oven House. It is located on top of rolling hills, surrounded by grape vines with a view of the Alps in the distance. Giovanna had arranged for several tours of wineries and each one was fascinating. We also were lucky enough to be on the property during grape harvesting and learning more about the local wine industry was fascinating. The house is spotless, fully equipped and beautifully decorated. While it is an old farm, it has modern amenities and is comfortable and welcoming. Giovanna had wonderful suggestions on local sites and restaurants and it's evident that she clearly loves the area-- as we do now. Our two sons (both in the their late 20's and sophisticated New Yorkers) were in awe of the location and the small towns and villages we visited. A memorable week-- we will return soon.

Colette

Majestueuse maison vacances - view panoramique

Clean, luxurious holiday home with stunning view
Giovanna, the hostess and owner of this luxurious and charming holiday house, has so much to offer. Prior to our arrival, Giovanna had sent us several, interesting suggestions of activities in which we could partake to make our stay in this beautiful region a memorable one. She even did some additional research to find a traditional, cultural festival (folk dance and musicians) so that we could experience the culture of the people of the Piedmont region. Upon our arrival, we were met by Giovanna who welcomed us with open arms. She walked us through the house explaining how the appliances and fireplace worked, shown us where everything was and made us feel very comfortable. Cascina Bricchetto-Cà Der Forn is located on top of a hill surrounded by vineyards. It is immaculate and tastefully decorated with antiques. The kitchen and washrooms are well equipped with everything from dishes, pots and pans, spices, pasta noodles, towels and linen, toiletries, detergents, etc. Two bottles of local wine, homemade jams, hazelnuts from Giovanna's orchards were on the counter upon our arrival. The view from our place was exceptional, even on cloudy days. On a clear day, you can actually see the Alps at a distance – absolutely stunning, panoramic view. Giovanna is very knowledgeable about Italy, and specifically of the Langhe region and all that it has to offer. She has many connections in the various businesses and it is easy for her to make suggestions that will best suit your needs. In her professional and generous self, she taught us how to make a Tirami Sù and shared with us her garden herbs. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone who wishes to live a great experience, away from the crowds.

Perfect holiday let
This holiday house is in a perfect location for exploring the beautiful villages and towns of the Langhe. We enjoyed spending our days driving to explore the lovely area, eat nice food and buy local produce to cook each evening. The house is perfect - spotlessly clean and very well-equipped. Each of the bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom, with a very good shower. The kitchen has everything needed. There is no air conditioning but even in a heat wave we were comfortable given the slightly cooler temperatures on the top of our hill. There is plenty of space for sitting outside to enjoy the wonderful view and watch the stars. Giovanna is a really kind host. She lives in a part of the farmhouse which is close enough for her to be on hand when needed but at enough of a distance that her presence is not intrusive. She is extremely knowledgable about the area and is happy to book wine tastings and restaurants if you wish. We preferred to accept her list of recommended restaurants and use it to find lovely places to eat at lunchtimes during our days out. She booked us wine tastings at 2 local wineries which were fascinating and really helped us understand the wines of the region. We would thoroughly recommend this house.

The Best of the Piedmont
I was looking for a special place to stay in the Langhe. I was escorting family and I wanted someplace to "WOW" them. Someplace with views, a romantic setting, clean, well appointed and an authentic Italian experience. Cascina Bricchetto fits the bill to a T! When we arrived at the top of the ridge where the cascina is located, we were almost giddy. The views reach to the martime and norther alps, there were still snow capped peaks to the north, It was simply stunning. The owner, Signora Giovanna works hard to make sure her property is well stocked, immaculately clean, and in perfect working order. She is warm and genuinely interested in helping you enjoy her region. For wine lovers, there were three types of wine glasses; for whites, nebbiolo based wines and big tannic wines. No detail was overlooked. Ours was a very pleasant visit immersed in the Italian culture, wines and food. I'll visit again.

I can definitely recommend Cascina Brischetto, just out of the town of Nieve in Piemonte. Having travelled through this region several times before, we were very happy with this location, easy drive to towns of Nieve and Barbaresco and the promoted 360 degree views were certainly fantastic. We found Giovanna to be helpful and friendly, and the house to be spacious, very clean and generously fitted out with everything we needed (even proper sized wine glasses, which are very rare in holiday accommodation!). Our 3 year old and 6 year old were very happy with the swings, grassed area and basic sandpit, equipt with toys and we found the accommodation very child friendly. A typical switchback road up to the villa made us feel like we were truly in the Italian countryside, and the generous fruit and vegetables available (including heavily laden fig tree, yum!) allowed us to indulge in the local produce. No complaints, would definitely visit again, both this region and Giovanna's great house. Thanks!
