"Beautiful overlooking the lake "

"Not as advertised. Phoned to arrange check in but no one spoke English. Finally got a customer to translate who advised to come at 5 to check in (half an hour later than advertised). When we arrived the bar and restaurant were closed. Only one member of staff there who could not speak English which was advertised on the site. The room was very basic with outdated decor. "We stayed 2 nights at this lovely hotel. Full of character, warm and cosy on chilly weekend in March. The staff were friendly and helpful and were made to feel very welcome especially by Massimo on our arrival which was quite late evening. The small town of Calolziocorte is very pleasant and the location of the hotel by the river is lovely.
