We bought and furnished this particular property to cater to families like ours. In fact, it will comfortably accommodate two small families. The master bedroom has king bed with en suite bathroom. The guest bedroom has a queen bed; both bedrooms have large sliding glass doors to access the large covered balcony that overlooks the pool and Galleon Bay. The kids' bedroom is extra large with two sets of bunk beds and its own entertainment center with 40 inch HD Smart TV . The sunset view from this bedroom's balcony is breathtaking . Cable and internet were recently installed ; however , keep in mind this is the Bahamas. Internet speed and reliability are not what we enjoy in the states. The salt water pool is mere steps from the covered downstairs patio. Or, you can watch your children from the Charleston swing bed or double lounge chair on the upstairs covered balcony. Our private pool is shared with two other homes on property .(By comparison, Bahamas Beach Club has 1 pool for 84 units) We hope to make lots of memories and hope our guests do, too.
This property has numerous amenities that set it apart from most Bahamas rentals: a 50,000 Watt generator to ensure continuous electricity during the inevitable power outages and a high pressure pump to ensure constant water pressure. However, again, in the Bahamas these amenities can be quite temperamental. Also, there is a Tiki bar with a gas grill . Gas grill works great ; but, like most gas grills, the ignitor went out a long time ago.For lighting lift far left grate and use either lit paper towel or long lighter to reach burner then turn burner on . The tiki bar is still being renovated and is awesome for poolside entertaining . Amenities also include35-foot boat slip with 6 foot depth at low tide ; and, water filtration system. We also provide beach chairs, toys, and towels, as well as 2 beach cruiser bicycles. If the tiki bar grill is unavailable we have a back-up gas grill and small charcoal grill, which my husband prefers for steaks.,
Although the Abacos is well-known for its low crime rate, we installed extra security precautions: a wall safe to store your valuables; extra flood lights on the house exterior; and, the dock area has motion-activated lights. We also installed cameras to remotely monitor the boat slip and driveway .
As my husband is an avid foodie, the kitchen is extremely well-stocked with cookware, utensils, appliances, and storage containers. The 5-burner electric stove will allow you to easily cook a feast for a large gathering; and, there are 12 dining seats available. For those that don't want to eat in , there are a handful of dining out options. The beachfront Bahamas Beach Club has reopened; the food is a little pricey but excellent . It offers a beautiful view when dining outside . The landmark Florence's Café (Flo's) now serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Her cinnamon buns are an absolute must when visiting Treasure; and ,her grouper fingers meal is awesome. A take-out dining option is Creative Hands. Don't let the exterior---a dilapidated trailer--- fool you.The food is delicious. I highly recommend their tasty cole slaw ; it goes great with fish tacos made with your catch of the day . Lastly, for those who want a delicious meal but don't want to leave the house, have it catered by Nettie's Kitchen Catering. Desiree and Deniro operated a restaurant A touch of Class pre-Dorian . Now, they prepare and deliver authentic Bahamian cuisine. We have not tried it yet . The reviews are impressive ; and, the prices are very reasonable . A new restaurant, Sunset Pizza, has recently opened. We ate there on our last visit; and, the Italian style pizza is very, very good.
The Abacos is coming back strong. We definitely recommend bringing or renting a boat to do a little island-hopping when visiting Treasure . Dodge's Book "Cruising the Abacos" is an excellent resource for navigation . Our favorite hot-spots are Grabbers and Nippers on Great Guana and Big O's on No-Name. And don't forget about Cap'n Jacks in Hopetown on elbow cay. About a 45 minute boat ride but Hopetown is a trend little settlement to trek around.
If you have a large group, there are 2 neighboring properties with identical floor plans with whom we share the pool and other amenities. If you are flying into Marsh Harbor, we can help you arrange for a driver to pick you up, take you to Maxwell's/beverage store to stock up, and then deliver you to the house. We have a retained caretaker that will respond immediately to any issues that may arise.
If you have a large group, there are two other homes on our property. Their VRBO numbers are 3137520 and 2939381.
I look forward to hosting your group .
