Sweet Cherry Cottage: waterfront and close to everything

New 2021 listing! This cottage is part of a 1940s resort that has been updated. We have several cottages along 500 feet of Bass Lake water frontage. We love our little slice of heaven and you will, too! The cottage has two bedrooms and one bath with both washer and dryer, and two bedrooms both with queen beds. You would have your own private fire ring and access just outside your door to the water. If you don't like dogs, this property is probably not for you. We have doodles and poodles and a couple of little girl pups that frequent the beach area and they love people. They will want to come and say hi at some point, guaranteed! We are located about 10 minutes to Traverse City where you can enjoy all sorts of fun! We are a foody town and we have festivals galore all summer long. We are also a short 30 minutes to the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park where you can hike and sightsee to your heart's content. We have two kayaks, 2 paddle boards, a canoe and I could round up more if needed. I am around if needed, but I won't be in your way if not. We have a strict 4 person maximum, but we do have one other cottage that may be open when you want to stay, so if you are hoping to travel with friends or family, let me know and I'll check availability. I am currently working with VRBO to make my rates consistent. If you see one night that is higher than the rest, please email me so I can fix it before you book!

Really enjoyed my stay. Close to downtown Traverse City but nestled in the woods where it was quiet. Cabin was clean and had everything I needed. Would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful getaway
Everything was perfect for our time there. It was beautiful looking out onto the lake. The other cottages next to ours were empty so we enjoyed the privacy and quiet. Kitchen was well stocked for the two of us.

We had a great time at this adorable cottage! Jody was very helpful and even let us use her canoe and kayaks! It’s about 20 mins from traverse city and on a very quiet lake. Our boys had a blast fishing and using the splash pad Jody had!

Very Cute Little Cottage!
This little cottage was very cute and clean. The lake view is beautiful! We enjoyed kayaking and fishing on the lake. The property is conveniently situated so it is not a far drive to a lot of fabulous hikes, lakes, rivers, shops, restaurants, breweries and wineries.

Perfect getaway!
This was the perfect cabin on the cutest lake for a short weekend trip with the hubs. We walked our kayaks down to the lake a few times over our trip and had a blast exploring. This is the perfect spot for some lazy kayaking. We were only a short drive to Bear Dunes and an equally close to Traverse City. We will definitely be staying here again

Beautiful summer get away
This cottage was beautiful and cozy with spectacular views of bass lake from the couch. There is a sand bar we kayak to and enjoyed the summer sun. The fire pit was a wonderful way to end the summer night. Located 10 min away from Traverse City. Already booked another cabin for Labor day and bringing the kids. Jody was very helpful and quick responses with questions. A 10/10 experience!

Overall enjoyed our stay!
Overall my wife, son and I had a great time. Location of the cottage to surrounding areas and attractions made the stay very enjoyable. The cottage was nice and well maintained with lots of privacy and immediate access to bass lake. The only two down sides we experienced were the water quality, which was slightly brown and tasted very metallic, which we overcame by using bottled water for drinking. Also we had a chipmunk that made several appearances leaving poop behind wherever he had been. All in all we enjoyed our stay and didn’t let the few items effect our vacation.

Cute cottage on a small lake
Unfortunately it rained for most of trip, but that meant we spent a lot of time inside the cabin. It was small, but the perfect size for the four of us. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything I needed to cook and there were games to play. The tv was small, but we also watched a movie. The location was nice. We were about 10-15 minutes to many restaurants, downtown traverse city and about 30 minutes from the sand dunes. Wished we could’ve used the fire pit. It was right by the beach and would’ve been great during the sunsets, but we did manage to use the kayaks even though it was drizzling and had fun. The owner Jody was quick to communicate and made sure we had everything we needed.

Beautiful Lake!!
Vacationed with my daughter and 2 exchange students from France. We had so much fun at this cottage. The lake is very clean and swimmable. The Kayaks and SUPs are great to have. We used them every day. The cottage is really cute and worked well for 4 people to eat, sleep, shower comfortably. Neighboring cottages were friendly, and evenings were quiet. I would happily return again to this cottage especially because it is super convenient to reach all there is to do in the area but tucked away from the crowds.
