Red Timber is a pet-friendly modern 3-bedroom farmhouse located between Downtown Traverse City and Lake Leelanau, and only 2 miles from Lake Leelanau Boat Ramp! This cozy home is unique, well-appointed, and perfect for hosting families of all kinds!
Guests will enjoy the home's easy flow, warm-n-cozy furnishing, open kitchen, ample dining/kitchen island seating, and nearly a half-acre lot. They also will love having access to the 2-car garage, 2 kayaks with life jackets, a fenced-in backyard, front covered porch, back deck with outdoor patio furniture, fire pit, grassy lawn, and kid's outdoor play structure. The driveway is large enough to accommodate a trailer and boat as well. Plus, the relaxed neighborhood vibe offers safety and security for family walks and bike rides to the top of the hill to catch the view of Lake Leelanau!
Upon entering the home, you are instantly warmed by the natural woodwork and the sunlight pouring in through the many ceiling-high windows. The main floor boasts a wide foyer, spacious mudroom, plenty of closet space, stainless steel kitchen appliances, stackable washer and dryer, 2 bedrooms, a full bathroom, and handsome decor!
The large upper-level master retreat features a plush and cozy king bed, its own private full bathroom with double sinks, and an enormous walk-in closet, which is ideal for luggage! The nearly 1,575 square foot home is also equipped with smart locks, secure Wi-Fi, Smart TVs, a surround-sound bar, Bluetooth speakers, electric recliners, thermostat-controlled gas fireplace, ceiling fans, and plenty of overhead mood-lighting.
The home is ideally situated on Leelanau Peninsula and is within walking distance to Timberlee Hills, a nearby escape for Michigan winter tubbing and summer weddings! It is also close to many of the world-renowned wonders Northern Michigan has to offer including, but of course not limited to, the Great Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, Fishtown, Lake Leelanau, Empire, Suttons Bay, Glen Arbor, Northport, Mission Peninsula, Williamsburg, and Downtown Traverse City. Within 15 minutes are many wineries, breweries, hiking/biking trails, endless shorelines, beaches, boat launches, golf courses, stunning fall colors, winter sports opportunities, mushroom hunting, plus casinos, dining, shopping, and so much more. There are strict Short Term Rental Licensing Restrictions in place by Elmwood Charter Township that limit the occupancy to a maximum of 6 guests total with no more than 4 children under the age of 5.
Rental Policy:
- No smoking or fireworks are permitted
- Two dogs are okay upon approval (2 max)
- $150 Non-refundable pet fee per pet.
- Pets must be leashed or tethered when in the yard.
- $200 pet poop pick-up fee if any pet waste is found in the house, in our yard, or the neighbor's yards. (This fee will be charged through Airbnb's Resolution Center.)
- No events, parties, or large gatherings are permitted.
- Minimum booking age is 25.
- Reservations that exceed 30 days will be subject to a cleaning fee every 30 days in addition to the standard guest check-out cleaning and fee.
To help you relax and enjoy your stay, we have partnered with Safely to provide all reservations with damage protection. The cost for Safely is $49 for 1-29 nights, $249 for 30-59 nights, $319 for 60-89 nights, and $390 for 90-119 nights. All reservations will initially be charged a $49 Safely Damage Insurance Fee. For stays longer than 29 nights, the additional charges will be processed after booking. All reservations are subject to the guest agreement terms, conditions, and fees.
Guest Access:
This property features self-check-in. Check-in is permitted between 4:00 pm -10:00 pm. Guest are responsible for having their check-in instruction before arrival. Check-in instructions are sent after completing our guest check-in form and agreeing to our terms of service. The home's property address will also be sent separately 72 hours prior to check-in.

Car is recommended; however, Traverse City offers a variety of taxi services as well as Uber and Lyft.
Other Things to Note:
Guests are provided with a small amount of the basic essentials including 2 rolls of paper towels, 2 rolls of toilet paper in each bathroom, 2 laundry pods, 2 dish pods, a full dish soap dispenser, and full soap dispensers in each bathroom, and basic cleaning supplies. Guests are not to use the host's inventory of bulk supplies left at the property and should be prepared to supply their own as needed for longer stays.
CHECK OUT INSTRUCTIONS:
•November-April: Set the heat/thermostat to 55 degrees and close the blinds.
•May-October: Shut off everything and close the blinds.
•Strip beds (not mattress pads) and pile all sheets and towels on the floor near the washer. Start a load of towels in the washer. (If applicable.)
•If you used more than 2 shower towels, hand towels, or washcloths per person we ask that you wash, dry, and put the excess away before checking out. (If applicable.)
•Dispose of all food. No food or beverages are to be left inside the property.
•Put all trash in the garbage bin. Trash instructions are noted in your Guest Guide Link. Please take the trash to the road if your stay falls on or within 48 hours of trash day.
•Put patio cushions back. (If applicable.)
•All dishes must be washed, dried, and put away. Dirty dishes may result in a $100 additional guest cleaning fee.
•Turn off all lights.
•Lock the door.
