Welcome to The Blue Door Cabin in Townsend, TN - "The Peaceful Side of the Smokies" ... Open the door, claim your bed (queen on the first floor, queen & twin trundle in the loft), grab a beverage (complimentary hot coffee and wine available at your arrival), and enjoy on one of the many screened-in porches where you can unwind in tranquility (depending on recent rainfall, you can hear nearby running water too).

Our charming and cozy, all-wood cabin is perfect for individuals on retreat, couples, friends who are getting together, and small families. The cabin sleeps up to 5 guests - there is a queen bedroom with a door on the first floor and a queen bed with twin trundle in the loft. We are located just minutes from the entrance to The Great Smoky Mountains, Cades Cove Cellars, Tuckaleechee Caverns, River Rats, The Dancing Bear, the Heritage Center, and the Foothills Parkway (to name a few).

Over the summer, guests can use the Honeysuckle Pool on Happy Hollow Road in Wears Valley for $5 per person, per day. The day pass also includes a fishing permit to catch and release in the private pond.

The fireplace is available for use October through April.

Blue Door Cabin
Such a sweet little cabin! Pulling in was challenging at night. We really wished the downstairs bedroom bath had a shower. The screened in porch was in need of a good cleaning, but it is fall and leaves falling, dust, wind, and spiders. We did really like it! We would have liked to spent more time there, but we couldn’t. We will definitely be back. Thank You!

Anniversary trip.
The cabin was everything they said it was. Clean beautifully decorated. It had the smoky mountain atmosphere. We would definitely stay here again. The host were very sweet to work with. She answered all the questions we had. We didn’t have anything that needed to be addressed while we were there. The bottle of wine for our anniversary was a nice touch!!

Almost great
Cabin was nice. Beds were comfortable. Mostly quiet except for occasional vehicle. But heating system was not working. Hosts responded very quickly to the concern but hard to get HVAC folks at the last minute. Made it a little uncomfortable being cold.

Love the cabin! So quiet and peaceful. The owner reached out to us several times during our stay. Love the wine that was left for us. Will definitely try to stay in this cabin during our next visit to the area.

Perfect quiet hideaway in the Smokies!
We absolutely loved the privacy this cabin offered, and everything was so well appointed! The close proximity to the National Park and Townsend as well as a short drive to Maryville allowed us to truly enjoy our time.

Quick getaway
I couldn't make it to Yellowstone this year, so I decided to come to the Smokey Mountains and do a little hiking. This was my first Vrbo rental. If I rent again, I hope the other properties can live up to my stay at the Blue Door. I have to say that the hosts have set a pretty high bar. The cabin, is clean, and comfortable, and in a great location. If you are coming to view wildlife, sit on one of the porches. I was lucky enough to see turkey, deer, and even a bear pass through the property. I very highly recommend this property.

Weekend Trip
Very nice and clean cabin in a very quiet area. It is decorated very well and owners have thought of a lot of little details that make the place stand out compared to others we have stayed at. We love how close it was to get into the park without going through any traffic.

Amazing weekend getaway!
We had booked this for a quiet weekend getaway. Both me and my husband absolutely enjoyed our time here. The hosts have put in a lot of thought for the decor at this place, which we absolutely adored. It was in a great location, pretty close to the park entrance which was an added advantage.

Peaceful Stay
Cabin was tucked in the trees in a quiet neighborhood. Screened porches were fantastic for sitting outside without the bugs getting to you and a nice breeze for in the ceiling fans. All the furnishings you could ask for! Wildlife abundant in the neighborhood. Hosts were super communicative and were very prompt. Would stay again.

The quiet side of GSMNP
This was a great location to experience the area without being in the business of some of the more highly developed areas, yet we were still close enough to venture in for the experience when we wanted to. Wonder place for our family.

Blessed Relaxation!!
The cabin is beautiful, warm and inviting. A lot of attention to detail was put into decorating. Although we didn't really cook, we certainly could have, given that about everything you could need was there. I have a bad back, so it was very nice to have the Jacuzzi. Heaven!! The porches with plenty of seating/tables, and the porch swing were certainly put to good use. If you are looking for a quiet place away from the tourist craziness, but a short trip to the attractions, this is it. Be advised that there is some stair climbing involved in getting to the front door, but well worth the effort

What a lovely cabin!
We loved our stay at the Blue Door Cabi! It is tucked away in a quiet area on the edge of a golf course just as it transitions into woods. We saw LOTS of nature on the grounds and surrounding area, and you probably will, too! The screened-in porches were perfect for enjoying the surroundings while drinking our morning coffee. The cabin itself was immaculate and fit our needs as a family of four. Having a washing machine and dryer was VERY helpful. We have two boys (5 and 3), and they shared the downstairs bedroom. The loft had a pull-out bed which they found fun, but we knew they might slip on the stairs in the mornings, so we took the loft. Elena was extremely communicative and made great recommendations for local activities. The Keurig was stocked with coffee, which was very much appreciated. Check-in/out was very easy. Great experience all around! We’d love to stay here again in the future.

Weekend getaway
We loved staying here. We came to get out of town and basically do nothing and that's what we did. We went out to eat Saturday for lunch and shopping but we mostly stayed at the cabin all weekend. Tried turning on the tv for background noise but it wouldn't connect. I'm sure if i reached out to the goat they could've helped us but we didn't. We just enjoyed our time together. Would definitely book it again!

Townsend--The Peaceful Side
The Blue Door Cabin is quiet, peaceful, very private, clean, and inviting. The porch was our favorite place to read and listen to nature. When it rains, the tin roof makes it special. The location is perfect for exploring Townsend, Cades Cove, and Maryville. The Abbey in Townsend offers a wonderful menu with seating outdoors by the creek. The Vienna Coffee House in Maryville, along with shops, makes for a fun day. It's a very walkable town. After a day of exploring, the cabin offers a welcome home. It is obvious the hosts take pride in their cabin and enjoy sharing it with others.

This cabin is perfect! You’re just minutes from the park. It’s also close enough to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg without being in the middle of that craziness if you done want to deal with that.
