We stayed at this cabin for about a week and had a nice time.
Pros:
- The decks have a fantastic view of the beautiful lake
- The hosts were very responsive when we had a problem with the internet and solved the issue quickly
- The dock was great for swimming and the kids all enjoyed jumping off and playing in the water
- Lots of room to hang out in the living/family rooms and plenty of beds/couches for sleeping
- Plenty of parking for vehicles and trailers
Cons:
- No A/C. It was hot the first days we were there and the house, especially upstairs, was really uncomfortable. The windows were very difficult to open and there were no blinds on the sunny side of the house. There were not enough fans so we had to move them around and 2 of them were old and broke as we moved them (which we had to pay for). Those of us who were staying in the loft had to relocate to the basement floor to sleep due to the stifling heat.
- Lots of food in the kitchen. While it's nice to have a few seasonings around, it seemed like the (small) fridge hadn't been cleaned out since the last guests. There were open condiments in the fridge, snacks, baking supplies, etc. Nothing old or rotten, just a bunch of stuff that wasn't ours to work around.
- The fire pit was at the bottom of the hill by the lake. If you want to enjoy a fire and be within earshot of kids in the house, this won't work.
- The host lives in an apartment above the garage. Margaret was friendly and did not intrude at all, but if privacy is a priority for you, keep this in mind.
All in all, it was a nice enough cabin on a beautiful lake that could probably benefit from a few improvements, especially to block out the sun, get some air moving, and manage the temperature in the house.
