"Hotel Splendid is an excellent hotel in an excellent Dax location. Many restaurants and shops within 2-5 minute walk, the hotel was classic art deco design. Very comfortable, modern bathroom, nice towels. Will return"

"If you arrive by car in the dark then its not easy to see the driveway to the Reception nor where you can actually park. You have to go in and ask! Very friendly and informative staff so first class in that respect. Room was fine and good enough but noisy smoking neighbours in next room on the adjoining balcony. Restaurant staff great. Usual disappointing menu but typical french fayre and they still dont know what a well done steak is! "

"We just needed somewhere for an overnight stop on our journey by train from Spain to the UK (Eurostar via Paris). The 25 minute walk from and to the station was fine. Found a nice restaurant nearby for dinner. Nice location by the river. A bit confusing being called both the Miradour and the Ibis. Not quite sure what's going on there!"

"Je trouve que le niveau baisse quand une chaîne hôtelière a racheté un bâtiment existant. Ce n'est pas la même chose qu'une nouvelle construction. Petite pièce, murs gris, mauvais éclairage, difficile de travailler. Je ne sais pas si je reviendrai ici."

"Service was excellent. We had anticipated a lake view but most of the hotels lake view is blocked by a public indoor pool structure so that was disappointing. Beds were very comfortable and everything was clean."

"We absolutely love this place. We had a fantastic stay. Thank you to Martine and Bruno for being excellent hosts. The accomodation was well equipped, there was an amazing pool , a ping pong table and a games room which entertained all the children. We spent most of the time outside near the pool and in the annexe which had a kitchen. We stayed in the main house which was plenty big enough to accommodate us all. "When we arrived at 3pm per our check in instructions, we were told the room would not be available until 5-530pm. Floors were dirty and the room is in need of updates. People at the front desk were friendly but did not speak any English. Although stated on hotels.com that English was spoken. "
