You will be consumed by your ability to relax and enjoy Lake Nantahala. You will make it a must visit place on your calendar each year. Our home is surrounded by floor to ceiling windows that offer views of the lake and mountain range that you won't soon forget; not to mention the three full length decks. You're only a few yards from being on the dock relaxing or in front of the fire pit making smores and sharing your fun filled day with others. There are kayaks and paddle boat for your lake enjoyment. Also, a foosball table, table games, movie library three deck levels of outdoor seating. Enjoy your coffee early each morning in the cool mountain air while gazing at 5,600 feet mountain peaks and day dreaming at the beauty.

The Lake Nantahala area has a lot of local activities. You are within 45 minutes to an hour of shopping, antiquing, crafts, white water rafting, U.S. Forest trails, horseback ridding, mineral and gem mines, golf, gambling in Cherokee, snow skiing, bluegrass concerts. Mountainside Theater, located in the heart of Cherokee Indian Country. The theater is famous for its production of “Unto These Hills”, which is a live re-enactment of the story behind the Cherokee Indian historic “Trail of Tears” journey. Or, hop aboard the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad for your choice of scenic family train rides or romantic gourmet dining. The Railroad also presents a Mystery Theater dinner on select Friday nights.

Our return to Lake Nantahala was wonderful. This property is beautifully decorated with all you need to have a fun vacation. Well stocked for cooking, plenty of bedding & towels as well as canoe and kayaks. The owner was very accessible to answer questions. Would highly recommend this property.

Stunning lake front cabin!!
I had an absolutely incredible stay at this rental home on Lake Nantahala! The views were truly breathtaking, and waking up to the serene lake every morning was a dream come true. The amenities were top-notch, including a game room, making the entire experience even more enjoyable with kids. The private boat dock was a fantastic addition, allowing us to explore the lake at our leisure. I can't recommend this place enough - five stars all the way!

We really enjoyed our visit. Beautiful cabin. Beautiful views. Enjoyed the kayaks and canoe even though it was a little chilly. It rained most of our visit, but there is plenty to do at the cabin even though the internet didn't work. Hopefully we'll be back to visit again soon.

Beautiful lakeside mountain retreat
This property was beautiful. We had so much to do while at the house. The kids truly enjoyed the gameroom and hanging out on the dock. It’s tucked up in the mountains away from everything. Everything you need is there and easily accessible. The rooms are great and the beds were very comfy. Dwight answered our questions and provided useful information in advance. I would definitely recommend this lakeside retreat. Thanks for having us we will be back.

Great property, terrific owner
We had a great time. One of the things the family needed was some off grid family fun. This property did not disappoint. The owner provided great communication. The house is beautiful and well equipped. The additional games in the garage was great for the two grand children to occupy their time when it rained. We had no problems finding the property with the instructions provided, and had no problems with the driveway. The property met or exceeded all expectations.

Quiet, comfy haven in scenic surroundings
The pictures of the property do it little justice! "Hooked by the View" was spacious, comfy, modern and well-equipped; a perfect family getaway for 4 adults and 5 kids. The view is spectacular and the peace and quiet invaluable. The home was clean, super comfy and cozy. There were plenty of supplies in the kitchen, bathroom, laundry room and fire pit. We felt right at home! We just loved canoeing everyday on the beautiful, pristine lake and only wished we could come back in the warmth of the summer. We feel so lucky to have spent quality family time in such a warm and welcoming home. Thank you!

Beautiful house with gorgeous views and all the amenities of home
We stayed (2 families) for a wonderful weekend in December. Talk about a gorgeous home and setting! Everything is kept very clean and up-to-date. The living/kitchen area is very spacious and open for groups to hang out, and the massive decks overlooking the lake are filled with rockers and tables to take in the breathtaking views. The beds are very comfortable. While we were there, the weather was unseasonably warm so we were able to utilize the canoe (they also have kayaks, and supply plenty of life jackets) to take the kids for rides around the lake. We got in later on Friday evening, so the drive to the cabin was a little tenuous in the dark, but upon arrival all of your tensions melt away. Dwight is very attentive and easy to work with -- you can tell he loves his home. The best GPS app to find the home is "Waze," which helped us a lot! My only regret is that we didn't book a longer stay.

Wonderful waterfront home
My husband and I took our son, daughter in law and two little granddaughters to this area for a long weekend. The house was beautiful - comfortable, inviting, and spacious. There was room for many more! The home is kid friendly and had several toys, books and activities to entertain the little ones. The only reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 was due to the remote location (30 min down a winding mountain road) and over an hour to Bryson City where we rode the Polar Express, which was the reason for the trip. The fact that I didn’t check the distance is totally my fault though! Be careful using the Home Away app for information about the property as the door code was wrong as well as the WiFi information. All in all, the home is wonderful and the owner is very responsive to any questions. I would stay there again.

Come and stay in this get away!!!
We had an amazing visit in this mountain home!! Not only did it provide plenty of room for our large family, it also provided (without leaving the property) swimming, fishing, kayaking and canoeing! Don't forget the marshmellows, there are two fire pits and lots of cut wood for your enjoyment! Pack lightly - next time I will bring for each person two swimsuits, two shirts and two shorts!! This cabin came with plenty of beach towels for your use and with the washer and dryer who needs to pack more!! We did purchase food from the closest Ingles Grocery Store - next time we will either bring it from home or stop a little further out, this Ingles did not compare to the other Ingles I visited on our travels. We rented a pontoon boat (150 HP with a tube) from Lakes End Marina - very friendly and accommodating. It is not necessary for everyone to drive to the marina - from the cabin it takes about 25-30 minutes to drive there. From the marina to the cabin on the pontoon boat only takes 5-10 minutes! Other than our trip to Ingles, Lakes End Marina and Bryant's Bait and Tackle we had no reason to leave this amazing get away! Leave your devices in the cabin, make memories with those you love and enjoy getting "Hooked By The View"! Romans 1:20

We had a very nice, quiet weekend at this property. It is mostly as described and shown in the pictures. It does look like there is work being done on the lake's shoreline, and the property was not right on the shoreline at the time of our visit. The shore had actually been moved several feet away. This was not a big deal to us but we did find it interesting to watch the workers. The fireplace was great, the kitchen was great, the place was very clean. There's only one thing that I think should be heavily emphasized, and I feel like the owner does a decent job of it but it can't be overstated. Every document I received prior to check-in (house rules, etc) warned us about how to get out of the driveway and with good reason. Please let it be known that the driveway should be taken seriously. It snowed and froze over the night before we were due to leave and we were not able to get out of the driveway. The owner was very understanding and allowed us to stay past check out time until things thawed out a bit and we could try the driveway again. Also, it's not worth it to go back out once you get there. Highly recommend you get your groceries on the way in. Also, we were advised to use Waze to get to the house. We used both Waze and Google maps and still got a little confused at one of the turnoffs. From there Google maps worked just fine. This place is pretty high up the mountain, and if you're prepared for that, then go for it!

Great House on a Pristine Lake!
We had an amazing stay at Dwight’s house! The property was well-stocked with everything a typical family might need. The master bedroom was spacious and luxurious, and our teenagers absolutely loved the middle-level bunk room, complete with a couch, TV, and easy access to the game room garage. The balconies on each level offered stunning views of the lake, which we enjoyed every day. Renting a boat was a great decision, and having the dock right there was a huge plus. We also made good use of the kayaks and canoe to explore the pristine lake. Evenings by the deck fireplace were a highlight, offering the perfect way to unwind after a day of various outdoor activities. As for accessibility, the house is about 10-12 minutes from the main road, with somewhat steep and winding roads, but we were well-prepared thanks to other reviews. The driveway is indeed a challenge due to its steepness and a single switchback. We had an SUV and a newer sedan; while the sedan managed, it wasn’t easy, especially when it rained. Luckily, there’s a turnoff at the top of the driveway where you can park if you prefer not to navigate the driveway in the rain. I’d recommend bringing at least one SUV or truck if possible. Overall, the house, its amenities, the lake, and nearby outdoor activities more than made up for these minor challenges. We highly recommend this home for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway!

The house was exactly as advertised! Beautiful views, clean, well stocked, and spacious! The lake was clean and not overcrowded. We enjoyed using the kayaks and the canoe to explore the lake. We would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing lake getaway!!

Best vacation ever
Every year I spend weeks, if not months, looking for the perfect place for us to stay on vacation. This was the perfect place. The house was amazing with so much space. The dock was amazing anlso, and 3 levels of porches that had the best view ever!!! My husband is a man of few words and he told me several times how great of a choice I made. The house was cozy and cute. The game room was perfect ( I won basket ball twice ) the fire pit area was unbelievable. Was nice to have the satellite as we watched several movies. The kitchen had everything we needed. Plenty of towels to use while swimming. The drive up to the home is beautiful. The drive way is not for a weak driver!!! All in all this home is definitely a 10 in my book!!! We did rent a book and spent the day on the lake which was the best way to spend a day. Lakes End Marina had the perfect boat. The staff was great and the kids spent almost all day on the tube. Probably the best vacation we’ve had and we take several a year. Highly recommend this home for the perfect vacation spot❤️

Good Family Times
11 of us from Florida (ages 12-71; including 5 teens) spent Thanksgiving here and really enjoyed our down time. We weren’t sure that the weather would be suitable for kayaking and canoeing but it was! We enjoyed going over to the little island and just paddling around our side of the lake. The water level is way down so it is tricky and muddy to get the boats to the water edge, but it didn’t stop us. We had plenty of room to spread out and enjoyed the fireplaces and firepit too. Kitchen has everything you need, we cooked Thanksgiving dinner here for everyone. I loved sitting on the deck with my coffee in the morning. What everyone else has said is true and explained in the listing-it’s a tricky driveway and the roads in are winding. It’s not a quick trip to town so plan your trips accordingly. We did go to the Nantahala Outdoor Center and have lunch at Riversend which was really good. We also made a trip to Ingles in Andrews for groceries. For coffee drinkers, the coffee pot is a regular drip one, so bring ground not pods. That’s always my first question. The game room was fun for the teens especially with basketball, ping pong, foozeball and air hockey. It was a lovely home and we’d love to visit again in the summer and take full advantage of the lake!
