With the lake just across the street, bonfire with everything you need to make s'mores, watch the stars on the back deck, stream your favorite Netflix shows, bring your fur-babies and keep them safe in the fenced yard, relax on our luxury mattresses and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning in the screened in porch. I booked this VRBO for my brother and his family who was in town for a birthday party. The VRBO was clean, in a safe location and exactly how it was featured on the website. Check-in was easy and the property had all the amenities that was needed for a weekend or longer stay. Thanks for the nice stay!

Base camp for Unbound Gravro
This was our second year in a row staying at this place for the Unbound gravel race in Emporia. The bedrooms are spacious and comfy, but the screen porch is our favorite place to hang out. It’s located on a short culdesac close to the lake, so there’s no traffic buzzing by. It was a great base camp for our cycling adventure.

Worked for us. Could use a long dresser in the MB to put your small stuff and personal bath items as there is not a vanity in the bathroom. Laundry area needs a good cleaning, dryer lint and spilled laundry soap that hasn’t been cleaned up. Didn’t cook but appeared to have most everything one might need to cook a basic meal.

Great the little house with cool screen porch
My son and I really enjoyed this place as we prepped to race the Unbound 200 gravel race in Emporia. The bedrooms were spacious, and the kitchen had everything we needed. It was a peaceful neighborhood with lots of trees, birds, and friendly neighborhood dogs. We really enjoyed sitting outside in the screen porch. We would be happy to stay here again.

Great place to hang out!
Every year four of us get together and get away for the weekend. We needed a new place to go, and I discovered this lil gem. It's less than an hr away from KC, which is all the farther we want to go! It's a cute neighborhood. The house is cute, but the best part is the screened in porch, which we totally took advantage of. We decided this will be our new place for our GF getaway!!

The lake house was nice with a great location. However the property and house need a thorough cleaning. We could not use the fire pit and years due to weeds and tall grass. The inside of the house definitely needs a good cleaning.

The location is great and the house was cozy. The owner was quick to respond to questions and that was appreciated because of schedules. The porch and house could have been more clean. I had to actually clean some things like the refrigerator and mostly the screened porch needed cleaning. We did use it and enjoyed it for morning coffee. Very comfy.

Nice place, good location near the lake
My husband, 2 children and I were visiting Topeka for a family gathering. This property was the perfect location, within 5 minutes of my aunt and uncle's house. Of course with the lake right up the street, we had fun fishing too. There was an issue with the a/c (hey, it happens, even at our own homes). I reached out to Seth through text and he responded right away and fixed it while we were at our family gathering. The property is a bit small but it had all that we needed for the weekend. My only suggestion would be that it needs a deep cleaning.

Such a nice part of Topeka, a block away from Shawnee Lake and beautiful Ted Ensley garden. Seth came in 10 minutes when I was befuddled by the door lock on arrival, and explained it more completely than he had in check-in email. Further questions I put to him on later days went unanswered, even though I used the VRBO communication platform. I had to guess how to check out. The covered patio was a bonus; very quiet and nice.

Pleasant Topeka Stay
The house was as advertised and extremely. Seth was quick to respond to all messages and quickly addressed any issues. The inside of the house was exactly as advertised and the screened in porch was great. The fenced in back yard was really overgrown with weeds as was the fire pit. We had to dig out the fire pit just to make it functional. All in all the house met our needs but the outdoor space could use some TLC.
