The Drooly Bear is a secluded log cabin getaway in the woods. Just a few miles from Trough Creek State Park Headquarters, this rustic, romantic vacation destination will allow you to escape the rat race and enjoy each other, your family, and nature.

As you decompress on the deck, you'll enjoy the peace and quiet of the woods. If it's raining, enjoy the sound of the rain as it falls while you sit in the swing under the covered portion of the deck. If it's chilly, go inside and get cozy near the wood burning stove or play a game or two in The Loft.

Get your exercise by hiking the numerous trails in Trough Creek State Park or playing at Raystown Lake. Enjoy fine dining at Mimi's in Huntingdon (about 35 minutes away) or grab a sandwich at a local sandwich stop or country store.

Great getaway!
We have been taking a winter weekend getaway here for years, and it’s just perfect. Well appointed, clean, comfortable, quiet, and good hiking locations nearby.

Great place to stay that’s in the heart of out adventure
Everything was great except the refrigerator did not work and the out door grill needs a good cleaning. 2 Time renting the place and look forward to going back again

Great Cabin!
We really love this place. Matt was great! We have stayed here before and we probably will be back. All the issues we had or might have had were quickly resolved. I suggest that you too come out to this cabin for a few days of relaxation in the woods.

New Year's Weekend Away
The cabin was perfect for our long weekend get away. We loved the big living room and how cozy the woodstove kept us. It was very close to the state park which was just what we wanted. We also enjoyed the big covered porch. Would definitely come back!

Great unplugging getaway
The cabin is tucked away in a beautiful part of the mountains and is accessible to lots of hikes and trails. The place is spacious and cozy! Make sure you’re comfortable with managing a wood stove as the primary heat in cold temperatures and plan for groceries as it’s a bit of a journey to stores. We had a great time and would definitely stay there again!

Wonderful property, lots of parking for vehicles and boat trailer. Great location, easy access to Lake Raystown and Trough Creek S. P. This was our second year staying at Drooly Bear. Will be back next year. Just do it!

Great hide away!
My family and I loved our weekend get away enjoying the wood stove while it snowed. Or as my first daughter to arrive texted her sisters, "This place is sweeet"!

Convenient Cabin
My friends and I stayed in this cabin since it was close to the alllegrippis trail system. There was plenty of space for all of us, we never felt cramped and since it was about 30 minutes or less from the trail head we could spend more time riding and less time worry about traveling to get there.

Great for everyone that came, we all love being outdoors and away from other people. Some went fishing out on the lake and some stayed back to just hang out at the cabin and played cornhole and cooked food. Everyone loved it

Wooded retreat
This is fairly isolated, just what we were looking for. Surrounded by woods on a private road, saw 2 others cars over 3 days, yet very convenient to Raystown resort/marina. I appreciated the woodburner in the living room and plenty of extra dry wood for the firepit. Will definitely return when in the area.

Refrigerator had annoying noise and freezer was frozen and refrigeration area was warm, Glad we had our Yetti. Grill was very rusted (gas tubes) and useless for anything but burgers and dogs at best.

Drooly Bear is nice
Always beautiful cabin and spacious. In 2020, some minor updates were needed, like a duct taped screen door and stained/burn holes in carpeting. This year unfortunately, same things could use attention as well as the sewage smells. It is a very relaxing scene though and we hope to visit again soon.

The property owner is so great to work with!
The property owner is great to work with! The porch and scenery is great, we sat on the front for in the morning for hours just taking it in! You can only see one other cabin near you. The only complaints we had was some of the beds are really uncomfortable and you can feel the springs in the bed, and the living room carpet has a bunch of stains. But that didn’t stop us from having a great time and I would come back again!

Perfect getaway!
This was the perfect place to get away. My wife and I spent a long winter weekend here, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin is tucked away and private, spacious, clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The wood stove made for a cozy atmosphere, and we had no trouble at all operating it. Matt was a very gracious, attentive, and accommodating host. There are some nice nearby trails in Trough Creek State Park as well, and we took in a the view at Raystown Lake. I only wish we could have made it a longer stay--next time!
