"This hotel is a memorable trip back in time. Sextantio purchased and renovated 30 rooms in the village, each one with a different character, charm, and challenge. The rooms were restored with basic amenities, but it is easy to imagine the simple life people lived centuries ago. The atmosphere is reinforced with candlelight and fireplaces. Upon entering the historic dining room or the Cantinone, you may be motivated to take pictures prior to eating your sumptuous breakfast or relaxing with an afternoon drink. Although the evening meal was acceptable, be sure to check out other restaurants in the village that offer local menu options. Our family group was made up of senior citizens (70-80), so we experienced a few challenges during our stay. The cobblestone lanes can be slick, even when dry, so be sure to where sturdy shoes with hiking soles, and walk carefully. Parking is distant from the hotel complex, so ask for assistance when moving your luggage. The bathroom areas in some rooms are very small and minimally lit. Given this historic inconvenience, we weren’t motivated to shower.
