"A relaxing, well-equipped, cute ‘hideaway’. Hosts Natasha and John (who live in the adjoining farmhouse) could not have been more kind and welcoming although they were in no way intrusive. Comfortable bed! And we loved the big wardrobe which we were able to stow all our cases and bags in, out of sight and out of the way. A possible downside for some is that internet access at this location is (or certainly was when we visited) slow and intermittent — obviously not the fault of the hosts, but can...

"The stay was excellent considering the owners high level of care and lovely property. No problem there. VRBO on the other hand mislead us by assuring us that the property was mobility accessible which it was not.. This created significant problems for the severely dialed member of the group and the carer. We double checked accessibility just weeks prior to arrival date and were again assured the property was accessible. It was not."

"We had a lovely stay. The house had everything we needed. Good location with easy parking. The owner was there on arrival and showed us around, which was very helpful! The only thing which wasn't clear on the listing (I also looked on other sites) was that the garden is not fully fenced and with a river at the bottom of the garden, children would need to be supervised at all times. I would recommend this place. The hot tub was great!"

"The place was cute, and the neighbor was very kind, he came out to talk to us when we were trying to figure out parking the first night. The drive isn’t big enough for any car larger than a Mini, but there’s ample space for parking on the curb. The only real downside was the amount of bugs within the property. Any corner that was looked at held spiders of considerable size. I don’t recommend this place to anyone who’s as sensitive to those things as I am. We sat on the back porch the first night...

"Such potential, such a shame;- 6 light bulbs dead or faulty, loose 13amp socket, old cobwebs in every room complete with large spiders, window blinds not latching, dangerously sloppy chair, every surface dusty, dirty glasses, cracked mug chipped crockery, drains started to smell from day 3, no oven gloves nor tea cloths. hearth tile loose, creaky stairs ( no lower side-rail (dont bring children!) for goodness sake spend half a day cleaning the place and get someone in to fix things."

"Throughly enjoyed our stay, we had a large party of 17 and the owners catered for our every need including high chairs, travel cots, tea, coffee and milk. The house was very clean and maintained to a high standard. The location is very private which was perfect as we were not disturbing other residents. "The barn was well equipped, in a beautiful setting. Whole experience was very chilled. Enclosed patio with garden, fire pit was amazing. Eggs from the hens were so tasty. Hosts were very helpful and couldn't do enough for us."

"We have just returned from a lovely weekend at Hillcrest cottage. It is exactly as shown in the listing. We loved the hot tub and sitting around the fire outside on the terrace watching the stars! Although it seems quite isolated it is less than half an hour’s stroll from Dunston and a few minutes further to Metheringham. The cottage and the views were stunning and we would highly recommend!"
