We renovated the former Queen Elizabeth School into apartments-this is the former science classroom-approximately 1150 s.f. with ceilings over 12 ft high-lots of big windows that open.
The apartment allows complete self sufficiency-from forks to all furnishings-all appliances-bedding......51" curved Samsung TV-netflix-youtube-Prime-hey Google......
Laundry is coin-op but coins are provided so it's free.
Except for last minute bookings we provide fresh Finn pancake batter-strawberries-whipped cream- all pans and cooking instructions for guests to make their own Finn pancake breakfast. Mix and cooking instructions by a former cook at The Hoito- probably the most famous Finnish restaurant in Northern Ontario.

Absolutely wonderful stay. Place was clean and comfortable. Hosts were a delight to deal with. Loved the Finnish pancakes provided for us. Highly recommend this property!

If you are looking for a great place to stay In Thunder Bay book here. Central located, lots of room, kitchen fully stocked to cook family meals. This place had everything… and I mean everything you could think you might need.

Home away from home

Fathers and Sons circling Lake Superior on motorcycles. The apartment was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. We would highly recommend this place and would stay here again! The pancakes and snacks were a nice touch!

This was an amazing place to stay for a long weekend there with all of our family! We stayed from Thursday- Sunday and it was so great. This place from reservations to check in to our stay to check out was great. Tania and Mike were responsive when we had questions and very good hosts. We especially loved how well stocked the place was, it was like being in your own apartment. We also loved how close it was to everything in Thunder Bay! It was a nice spacious VRBO as well with tall ceilings. Would absolutely recommend it to anyone and would definitely stay here again- thank you Mike and Tania!

Stayed here with another family...3 adults and four kids with plenty of space! Thank you for an amazing stay! The apartment is absolutely beautiful, the pancakes were delicious, and they literally have thought of every little thing that we could’ve ever wanted or didn’t know we needed to have and had it there! I love how they kept the original flooring in the hallways and the bathroom. It was nice and quiet, and we ran into a couple of tenants during our stay, and they were very sweet. Will definitely book again!

Perfect Stay
We stayed in this apartment after canoeing 6 days in the back country of Quetico and it turned out to be an excellent place to rest and regroup. We enjoyed the spaciousness and all the special touches that made our stay so comfortable. (pancake breakfast, chips, coffee, tea, coins for laundry, etc. and the extra toothbrushes/toothpaste that were unexpectantly needed.) The location was great and close to the marina. 30 minutes got us to the worth seeing Kakabeka Falls. Communication was always quick and the notes around the place were helpful. Thank you for making this a home away from home!

We spent one night here while relocating our family and pet across Canada! The apartment was so cool looking; it was funny walking into a school after all these years! The high ceilings are amazing and the suite is spacious yet cozy. The hosts are so thoughtful! Everything was so clear and easy to understand, everything we could possible need was provided generously. It was a wonderful treat to start our morning making Finnish pancakes with the batter supplied as well as all of the delicious toppings! This was a great place to stay and I definitely recommend it!

Nicer than described
A perfect 2 week stay in Thunder Bay in this very well stocked apartment. Had every amenity we wanted and some we didn’t even know we needed. Finn pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream added to the happy feeling of this special place. Pleasant neighbors. Walkable neighborhood with Tim Horton nearby. Merla Mae ice cream is delicious and it’s also within easy walking distance. Marina Park is a good place to spend hours watching the Lake, the boats, and the people. Many other parks close by including Hillcrest Park, Mt. McKay, and Kakabeka Falls are easy to get to and well worth visiting.

Comfortable Place to Connect
We came from a two day drive away and decided to stay here because it looked like a welcoming and comfortable to connect with our eldest before sending him off to Lakehead University for the first time. And it was! Our boys were so excited about the yummy chips Taina and Mike had left and we were delighted to have breakfast ready for us to make so we could spend time connecting over a nice leisurely brunch. It was a perfect location to grab last minute things for our eldest and it was quiet so we could sleep well before and after the big move! Thank you Taina and Mike! We will definitely be back when we are visiting 🙏❤️
