This is a great spot for visiting Warren Dunes State Park and beach, Journeyman Distillery and various wineries.
This was our second stay here and we enjoyed it every bit as much as the first time. It is very close to friends and family and makes a perfect base for breakfast and sleeping. We rode the tandem bike down some quiet country roads and had a good time. We'll be back.

Just needed a weekend getaway and our kids always loved their trips to New Buffalo. We found Peter and Mila's cottage and it was perfect for our planned getaway. Spent 3 days exploring New Buffalo, Three Oaks and Union Pier. Loved it all!
The cottage was a great place for my wife and I to celebrate our 8th anniversary. The owners were very helpful and responsive to any questions we had throughout the stay, and they even provided a complimentary bottle of wine, which was a nice touch.
Quiet and peaceful! 2 deer came to visit on our first night. Beach, 3 mins away, was a nice ending to the day.
On Day 2, we took the hour drive to Saugatuck and enjoyed lunch.
The cottage provided everything we needed for a refresh!

Not What We expected
The pictures of the house make it look roomy, but it was more claustrophobic... like a cabin in a small sailboat. If you don't mind close quarters and only a window air conditioner you'll be all set.
We thoroughly enjoyed this gem of a cottage, centrally located and completely comfortable.
Not sure about others who complained about the air conditioning in the reviews. We arrived on one of the hottest days in recent history and the air conditioning had the entire place chilly in under 2 hours. More than sufficient.
Firm bed downstairs, soft bed upstairs. If that isn't enough variety, there's also two air beds upstairs if needed. Living room couches comfortable enough that we fell asleep on them as well. Everything was as described in the listing and more. Totally comfortable, we were able to start relaxing immediately.
The best compliment I can offer is this - we will return when our schedules and availability of this property permit. I'd be totally content to stay here again.
We were hoping for the best after the reviews. Didn't get any directions in how to get into the home until 10pm on check in day. Cute house. Fire alarm batteries were dead on several units and we had to remove and put outside due to the chirping. Main bed was so uncomfortable we only stayed 1 night instead of 3. Loft space was cramped and warm, not ideal to try to sleep up there.
Cute little cottage. Mosquitoes were bad but it's very green and peaceful. A little much with the plug in air fresheners- triggered my asthma. Kitchen well equipped.
Property was as described in listing. Easy location to get to and from all the area spots we wanted to visit. Only draw back was we were startled awake by a freight train at 3am one night of our stay. I don’t think that’s a common occurrence though. Also, we encountered some spiderwebs upon entering the cottage. All in all I would recommend this cottage as a great base camp to visit the area. A big bonus was the Swedish bakery just down the road!
We enjoyed having this cozy cottage to come home to after a day at the beach, antiquing and wine tasting. It’s the perfect size for 2-4 people and has all the comforts of home. We enjoyed watching the yearlings dancing/playing in the yard. VERY close to Warren Dunes, Wine Trail and antique shops.
My son had a tournament nearby, and this house was so much better than staying at a hotel. Quiet and secluded, it was just what we needed. Our host was an excellent communicator. Having laundry on site was a huge bonus.
Perfect place for a weekend getaway. Quick drive from bars, restaurants, Cherry beach and Warren dunes. Luisa's bakery was an awesome and breakfast at Three Oaks was lovely too. Owner Peter was very accommodating and quick answering our questions.
This was a perfect place to touch down for visiting much family in the area. We only needed air conditioning on one night and it worked beautifully. The kitchen was well equipped. The wine the host provided is from on of the best wineries in the area (according to my family). Wi-Fi works great. We opened a window upstairs on the hot days and it cooled the place down with no A/C. The hot water heater is a little on the small side, so keep those showers short! A good policy anyway. We appreciated the neon flag in the front window for easily finding the cottage at night. We'd love to stay here again next time we're visiting family in the area.
We had a great stay in the Cottage and Mila and Peter were quick to reply to any messages. This place defines "Michigan Cottage" and we will stay here again. The location is great for beaches, restaurants, breweries, and shopping. We did ALL of those in the 3 days we were there. Find Cherry Beach and you will find the perfect beach day. Cant go wrong at the Red Arrow Roadhouse or anywhere in New Buffalo or St. Joseph. Thanks again!
The place was very cozy. Window AC was fine and it was near 90° two days of our stay. Well stocked. All the windows were new. The only problem is that there is no information in the house about how anything works, scant menus, no attractions, how to get to the little beach, or checkout policy. That’s unusual for VRBO. Wifi was blastin’ at over 120mbps. Outdoors were peaceful with lots of deer, turkeys, fox, plus owls and stars at night. We will be back. Wife enjoyed the free wine. Nice.
We found everything as described in the listing and many extras like a complimentary bottle of wine. The cottage is small but more than adequate for 2 people. It was immaculate. The bed was comfortable (which is not always the case) . We have been renting in various Michigan locations for 30+ yrs. and this property would be perfect for us if it could accommodate dogs, but we could see why it is not possible .
Quaint home with everything needed for a comfortable stay. I was visited by a doe and her two fawns as well as a gaggle of wild turkeys.
I used as homebase to explore the Indiana Sand Dunes National Park and wine trail.
