Otter Cove is a retreat that provides the ideal setting for creating cherished memories with friends and family. Having over 5,600 square feet of living area on three levels, this lodge was built to accommodate several families by providing both large common areas and private sleeping quarters.
When you pull up the driveway, you will see how Otter Cove was designed to be a secluded oasis, with its large wooded lot providing your own private retreat in the woods. You’ll see the yard gently slope to the tranquil waters of Long Lake, with stands of pine, birch, and maple trees framing the gorgeous view.
A few steps into the home, and you’ll be in the spacious great room that is anchored by a two-story, wood-burning stone fireplace and flanked by a wall of windows so you can watch bald eagles soaring over Long Lake! With a farmhouse-style dining table and large breakfast bar, the great room provides all of the amenities you need for entertaining and large family gatherings. The big, open kitchen easily accommodates multiple cooks to relive fond memories while cooking a family feast.
After a full day of recreation, you’ll look forward to retreating to the comfort of one of Otter Cove’s five themed bedrooms that echo the natural beauty surrounding the home. On the main floor, Moose Meadow provides a queen bed and large windows overlooking tranquil views of the woods. Or enjoy the lake view from Deer Haven, a spacious room with a queen bed and double closets. Ascend the log staircase and walk through the French doors into to the enormous, black-bear themed primary suite, which is appointed with a king bed, seating area, balcony, walk-in shower, Jacuzzi tub, and walk-in closet. Two more cozy bedrooms are tucked away on the walk-out lower level for the ultimate in privacy and comfort: Pine Hollow with a flat-screen TV and queen-size bed, and Angler’s Paradise with a flat-screen TV and king bed. An additional bunk room on the main floor provides space for your family to spread out, allowing the kids to have their own accommodations.
Otter Cove rests on 600 feet of shoreline on the largest in-land chain of lakes in the world, the Eagle River chain of 28 lakes. In the summertime, this means you can enjoy fishing, swimming, kayaking, or just waiting to catch a glimpse of the otters that play in a their namesake cove adjacent to the property. You can spend your days relaxing on the three-season enclosed porch or on the wrap-around deck. Gather around a bonfire to roast marshmallows and enjoy the view of the Milky Way – if you are lucky, you’ll catch the Northern Lights too! For rainy days, the property also features cable, free WiFi, darts, foosball, air hockey, and a pub-style shuffleboard table.
Located on the western edge of Nicolet National Forest, this home will allow you to spend your days exploring hiking trails, biking trails, and swimming beaches. In the winter, Otter Cove is located just off the snowmobile trail system offering hundreds of miles of groomed trails accessible from your front door. In addition to abundant cross country ski trails nearby, Ski Brule (the number one Midwest ski resort) is less than 30 miles away, providing alpine skiing from November to April.
