The little cabin on the mountainside
Its a rustic log cabin, totally handcrafted. Just below is the Chowan River and at the mouth of the Albermarle Sound. It is full of White Perch and you can go crabbing. Fire pit outside for roasting marshmallows. Its has a walk way off the back porch that will take you all the way to the river. It is very good for exercising.Firewood is provided for the fire pit. There is also a fire pit with some wood on the beach by the pier. There is a golf cart for those who choose to ride to river instead of walking. The property is located 12 miles from Edenton off of highway 45 on the Chowan River.

Lovely log cabin...just right. It sleeps 6 but was perfect for the 2 of us. Nicely decorated and attention to detail. Will visit again when we can take advantage of all the extras. We visited in January...perfect to relax away from work.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were escaping Hurricane Debbie and even with spouts of rain we still had fun fishing, riding the golf cart, exploring the area and making friends with the neighbo dogs. The cabin was so cute and had all the perfect touches. Thanks so much.
Wonderful get away, very quiet and relaxing. We really enjoyed spending a day in Edenton. People were so friendly, and we learned a lot about the local history.
The cabin and the decorations are stunning. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to return. We got to meet Doug which was nice as he gave us very interesting details of the history of the cabin. Other than food you have everything you need. Thank you for allowing us to have a quiet weekend getaway.
This is a well built, cozy and beautiful log home set in a very quiet neighborhood at the River. We wanted a quiet and private place and we found it. We met the owners and they were great. They are very generous with their whole property. The golf cart was fun and handy and we enjoyed the fire pit one night, too. Cant wait to go back!
Perfect getaway for a couple. I think it’s perfect for 4 people but any more it would be tight. Loved having the golf cart to get down to the water to sit on the dock.

Lovely
We really enjoyed staying here. The property was so clean and the owners were very kind. We could take the kids down to a little beach to splash around or let them burn off energy playing outside. We really enjoyed our stay.
AWESOME!!! Great cabin, great location, great owners. Had plenty to do without having to get into crowded beaches or other areas. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.
The view of the river from the top of the hill is gorgeous!
We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor firepit on a cold February evening. The hosts supplied ample firewood which we haven't often found to be the case at other vacation rentals. This was just one example of the attention to detail for this lovely cabin.
The decor of the cabin, inside and outside, is so thoughtfully done including the surrounding property.
We hope to visit again soon.
We enjoyed staying at this beautiful cabin. It was very relaxing. The owners lived in the house up the hill but it was still very private and they were quick to respond to anything we needed. We liked taking the golf cart down to the river and sitting on the pier. The owners even offered to take us on their boat and they fed us dinner one night.
We had a very relaxing weekend, exactly what we needed! The property was so nice from the BEAUTIFULLY decorated cabin to the groomed yard(s) and all the amenities to enjoy indoor and outdoor. We enjoyed the sunsets and sunrises immensely! Doug and Kim were so hospitable!
Everything was as described in the listing. Owners are very nice and easy to communicate with. We had a very relaxing time. The view of the Chowan River from their porch in amazing. Highly recommend.
My wife and I stayed here to get away. It was quiet and amazing. No more than a short car ride to any historic place. We visited Edenton and fell in love with the town
We checked in quietly and enjoyed a beautifully built log cabin. Everything was set up great with an amazing bathroom, and awesome decorations. We had a very private and quiet time to relax and enjoy each other.
on a brutally hot weekend, the cabin provided access to river, shade from trees and A/C. Well kept cabin for families or friends who dont mind the open sleeping set up. 2 beds upstairs and sofa bed downstairs. easy access to quaint Edenton.
Surprise getaway from my love! It was absolutely beautiful with breathtaking views and the most beautiful cabin. I will definitely be telling others and can’t wait to be back soon!
This cabin was exactly what I was wanting. It's very cute and cozy. The beds are very comfy and clean. The outside was also very clean and the pier was very cute. We got to meet the neighborhood fat cat and he is very friendly. Fire pit was great. The only thing it was lacking was clear instructions on what the check out instructions were but we did clean up our mess and left it clean. The drive into Edenton was about 20 min. And wasn't a bad drive but if you are wanting to drive back and forth keep that in mind. Over all 5 star stay!!
Great cabin. The owner was very responsive and helpful. I would say pick up your groceries before you get there. It is secluded and a bit of a drive to the next town. Beautiful view of the river at the top of the hill.
Enjoyed our stay in the cabin. Douglas & Kim were great. They offer such a nice little piece of peacefulness. We enjoyed the dock at the river, the fire pit was a hit with our teenage son - s’mores every night. And the bathroom is just gorgeous. Everything we needed for the week. And close enough that we travelled to Nags Head to enjoy the beach as well. Thanks for letting us use your cabin.
Rustic Handcrafted Log Cabin in Secluded Neighborhood
Cabin is rustic and very cozy along a gravel road in a secluded neighborhood. Just a short drive to Edenton for many dining choices and opportunities to explore NC history. There are many spots to access the water, even from this property, but the weather was rather chilly. Owners are very friendly and responsive. Would like to stay again sometime.
Hosts were so helpful and responsive.
Enjoyed all the amenities.
Would only recommend a pillow choice. All you need for a perfect weekend. Absolutely would return.
We loved our stay in this sweet little cabin. On the evening we arrived, we walked down the road to the river. A couple neighbors waved to us and a couple dogs greeted us in a non-aggressive, friendly manner. Once we reached the dock, we savored a truly peaceful interlude, sitting and watching birds in the color-changing sky. We didn't meet the owners in person while there but it was nice to know they were nearby if we needed anything. Great getaway and a great base for visiting Edenton, Elizabeth City or Merchant's Millpond a bit further away. Would definitely recommend this cabin to friends visiting the area.
