The open-plan living dining space is cosy, inviting and equipped with all the comforts of home. There is a Smart TV with Chromecast, providing guests access to their own Netflix and Sky Go accounts, you can stay connected on the complimentary WiFi, or simply curl up with a good book.

Achieve seamless indoor-outdoor flow by opening the glass sliding doors onto the sun-drenched deck. Sip on a cool beverage while the BBQ sizzles away in the background. The fully equipped kitchen will help you to whip up a few delicious sides to complete your meal, best enjoyed alfresco on the deck overlooking the boat harbour, lake and grounds.

Four bedrooms here at Rutherfurd Lakehouse comfortably sleep up to eight guests, which includes a self-contained unit downstairs for added space and privacy. Generous bathrooms on each floor, plus full laundry facilities, makes this the ideal spot for a family, or group on friends longing a lake escape.

Enjoy all that Taupō has to offer, being just a 3-minute drive from the town centre. Start your day with a coffee from one of the local cafes and enjoy a morning stroll around the lake, you can even try your luck at the Taupō Hole in One Challenge, if you’re feeling lucky.

You’ll love being so local to all the popular attractions, drive nine minutes to the Huka Falls, which can be explored by foot, bike, or boat, or if you aren’t afraid of heights, try out the AJ Hackett Taupō Bungy and Swing.

If you’re planning to bring the boat and get out onto the calm waters of stunning Lake Taupō, not only is there plenty of room to park the boat, the local boat ramp is just a one-minute drive away. If you would prefer to be on the lake in minutes then you can make use of the property's private jetty with fenders, situated on the waterfront by the boatshed which can be used to moor your own boat during your stay.

Please note there are two security cameras at this property, placed in the indoor lounge area overlooking the entrances. Rest assured that our guest's privacy is of paramount importance and the owner of the property will ensure it is preserved by removing the cameras and having them turned off during a booking.As the property has direct access to the lake and river edge adults should closely supervise young children while outside to ensure they are safe around water. Adults should also closely supervise young children to ensure that they do not climb the horizontal wooden slats on the deck barrier.The pictured fireplace is not available for guest use. There are oil and electric heaters available to provide heating in winter months. Please note the downstairs self contained studio is only accessible externally and there is no internal staircase. The pictured tennis court is available for guest use however guests should bring their own racquets and balls.There is an old unoccupied storage dwelling on the site that is not available for guest use.Please note a bond may be charged at certain times of the year. Stunning property close to everything
The property is fantastic, amazing views and close to town. very private and secluded I would definitely stay here again. It was just a shame that the fireplace wasn't able to be used.

Very nice stay, homey feel and good location. Would recommend
We had trouble finding the property as we were not given a street number and it is an unsigned overgrown driveway. Once inside it was cosy and clean with everything we would need, pantry was also well stocked which was very nice! The downstairs was only accessible by walking through the garden, which was gorgeous and lush, and the river access was fantastic. Overall great location, a cozy family house vibe and would stay again! Thank you:)
