Welcome to the Sweet Hart 1! One of the best tiny house rentals located in a quiet, loving street in the country of Tamahere, just 15 mins from Hamilton New Zealand. It has a lifestyle feel with birds chirping in the morning and refreshing morning breeze.
If you’re lucky, you may see some cute hedgehogs or fluffy little bunnies hopping about. It's in the perfect location, close to Hamilton city centre, and Tamahere village.
The Space:
Sweet Hart 1 by Tiny Away is set in a lovely spot in our backyard on the grass facing towards the field. It provides great views high up all the way around. Located in Tamahere, just 17 minutes from Hamilton. A vibrant city known for it's rolling green hills, spectacular limestone caves, and black sand surf beaches. All nearby Hamilton Lake, Ruakura Berry Shop, and Hamilton Gardens.
A cozy 190-square-foot accommodation near Hamilton with a queen-sized bed up in the loft and a couch, which can be converted into a single bed on the ground floor. It has easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste-holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please note that there will be a second tiny house called "Sweet Hart 2" that sit on the same property. If you want to book in groups, please contact your land host 24 hrs in advance to make arrangements.
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny house and backyard/garden. but will have restricted access to the main house and our dogs fenced off area. It's the perfect holiday homes NZ experience in Tamahare, well separated from our neighboring houses.
The Neighborhood:
Sweet Hart 1 by Tiny Away sits in one of the best tiny house rentals in Tamahere - North Island New Zealand, just 17 minutes from the city of Hamilton. Where you can explore a great place for walks at any time of the day. Whether you are looking for a night or morning stroll we have everything our country has to offer.
We also have an open garden area where kids can run around. Sitting at a high position on our street, you can climb a small hill for a stunning view of the sunsets and sunrises, and the occasional milky way.
If you're feeling adventurous, you could go exploring in our natural gully. Hamilton City is only a few kilometers away, and there are numerous places to walk, including Hamilton Gardens, Ruakura Berry Shop, and Hamilton Lake.
Local Attractions:
- Hamilton Gardens explores the relationships between people and plants, telling the story of gardens through different civilisations, in five garden collections that are spread over 58 hectares.
- At Ruakura Berry Shop, you can pick your own delicious sweet juicy berries and enjoy Waikato's best real fruit ice creams
- Hamilton Lake has wide open green spaces with walkways and bike paths, a large, fun and colourful playground. It is also used for for many water-based sports and recreation activities.
- Taitua Arboretum is home to an impressive selection of mature trees spread across 20 hectares. People often book this scenic arboretum for their wedding photos.
- Waikato Museum – Te Whare Taonga o Waikato provides a rich experience of the arts and culture of Hamilton and the Waikato region.
Getting Around:
By car:
- From Hamilton city, 15-20 minutes, 10kms, reachable by 2WD and 4WD
- From Cambridge 16-20minutes, 17kms, reachable by 2WD and 4WD
By public transport: Closet bus stop from our house is opposite 20 Riverlea Road, Riverlea, Hamilton
Other Things to Note:
- No pets allowed
- No outdoor fire pit
- No smoking allowed on the property
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Mobile reception is good for Vodafone, 2degrees, and Spark
- Don’t forget to close the windows and lock the doors when leaving the tiny house
- Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and electronics (e.g., especially chargers)
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
Important note:
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property
- Keep in mind that BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the [compost/cassette] toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
Interaction with Guests:
Guests will enjoy your own private space but we are always happy to chat with you.
