"Overall, we enjoyed our stay but the place wasn't quite what we had expected. It was advertised as having lake access and being a great place to swim from the private dock. However, even when we booked, the lake would not have been swimmable due to toxic algae blooms. Before we checked out, we found out from the hotel next door that there is another lake nearby (Blue Lakes) where all the locals go to swm. Wish we would have known about that earlier. "Tadpole cottage was a sweet destination to chill in the countryside for a few days. Although the weather was hot and there is no air conditioning, the place stayed nice and cool at night and was easy to sleep. The ducks were so cute and personable we had a great hang. Town is close enough if you forget anything and there are plenty of great wineries on the road. Would certainly come back if I find myself in the neighborhood."

"We planned to stay 10 days, there wasn’t a table to sit at or chairs if you wanted to eat meals. We appreciate some kind of household instruction for watching t.v., using the air conditioning unit or operating the locks when exiting. This would be a good place to stay if you didn’t plan on any time in the unit. Also a good wind came up and the shredded patio umbrella collapsed. We left early."

"My husband and I came to the area to attend a local musical weekend at Le Vin winery. Could not have been at a more convenient place to stay. It was a very very hot weekend and a little hard to keep the house cool but Annette who is the on-site property manager can’t be beat for responsiveness and support throughout our stay. "I hosted all of my friends for my husbands birthday party. It was the perfect venue to get away from it all-- enough lodging for our friends, and great privacy. The owner checked us in and out, but other than that we were on our own-- exactly how we wanted it :) Houses are perfectly appointed with plenty of supplies for cooking and eating.
