Alaska trip
A quirky historical Inn complete with bar music until 2:00 AM and shared bathrooms. They did provide ear plugs. Bed was comfortable and right in the heart of Talkeetna.

Historic Property
This place was historic and fun. It was not fancy or modern. I slept well and enjoyed my stay.
The Fairview Inn is a historic hotel and bar in Talkeetna! Definitely worth spending a night at and getting a drink/listening to live music!
It is centrally located so extremely easy to walk to other shops, restaurants, bars, and the museum in town.
Fantastic lodging option and very affordable. The rooms are located above a very popular bar that does Karaoke night which is very fun and lively. Everytime I told people in the area I was staying at the Fairview Inn they would always ask me questions about the place because of its rich history. Be aware though that the rooms are quite small and there are shared bathrooms, but with two bathrooms you won’t have to wait long to use them and they’re cleaned every day. I highly recommend the Fairview Inn if you’re okay in a smaller space and just need a room for sleeping while enjoying what Alaska has to offer.
The stay was great and just as expected! Very comfortable bed—no frills but I wasn’t looking for that. Loved being in the middle of Talkeetna with food and entertainment just steps away. Would suggest better privacy/light blocking curtains or roller shades for the windows though. Staff was very helpful.
Just wonderful. Really comfortable bed (which is what you want if you're doing a lot of hiking). Historical building, with the oldest bathroom in Talkeetna (with a plaque to memorialize it). Check in at the bar downstairs, a great place to meet the locals (and their good looking dogs), on site restaurant. Note: there is no elevator, you have to bring your bags up the steep flight of stairs yourself. Loved it, would definitely stay again.
What an amazing place to stay. Check in was very easy and convenient. The room was very clean, beds were comfortable. The staff was helpful and very friendly.
The Owner was outstanding - very gracious and service oriented. Excellent location - all of the staff were very hospitable - great dining options. Newly renovated - new air conditioning and heat pump was very efficient - would definitely stay at the Fairview Inh again

stayed here a few nights. very cute local dive! room was clean and ear plugs were provided and worked well to block out the noise from the bar. owner was very nice. loved the overall vibes and was a great local experience!
They did a great job updating the rooms with comfortable beds! As long as you don’t mind the bar noise late it’s a perfect location and fun to stay at an old, historical hotel!
A quaint place but is above a bar but that might it was karaoke and was nice to listen to. Rooms clean, bathrooms shared but clean. Food options from various food trucks were good. We would stay here again.
Unique lodging option in hip Talkeetna— seven rooms, roadhouse style, with a must-see historic bar and music venue on the main floor below. The rooms are comfy and newly renovated. It’s an older building and the music carries, so this place isn’t for everyone— but if you want to be in the center of the action Fairview Inn can’t be beat!
Historic building with renewed rooms. There is a bar with live music downstair. It is not a problem for me, but, keep in mind. Check in and check out very easy. I recommend and gonna go back!
We had so much fun at Fairview Inn, it was a perfect night. Courtney and Tonya were the bartenders, they were awesome. We had drinks, we danced then stayed the night. The rooms were cute and clean. The owner is really nice too. We will definitely be staying there again!!!
Really special, unique place to stay. If you're looking to drink and dance all night, and then go upstairs to your own bed after - this will be the perfect spot for you. I was tired (otherwise would have normally danced) so went to bed right away. If there's live music it will shake your whole room BUT the packaged earplugs they provide are incredibly helpful. I fell asleep pretty quickly, and the band was playing for hours after I went to sleep and I didn't wake up till morning. I heard other lodgers say the same in the hallway the next day. Honestly this is a very unique and fun place and area, so it's totally worth it to stay here. Just good to know that caveat. Solo female traveler and I felt completely safe.
The Fairview is ALWAYS a good time and we were so happy to see rooms open to stay in. Everything was clean and easy to access. It is NOT a place to stay if you are hoping to rest or get good sleep, and unfortunately we went to bed around 10pm. The free earplugs are necessary :)
The only thing that really saves this inn is its proximity to the river, food, and activities in town. It really is a beautiful little town and I don’t want to overlook that! The people are kind and the food is great, it’s definitely worth the visit, just without staying at this location.
Very honestly, This was probably the worst hotel we have stayed at in a while. The room was small and the temperature was difficult to manage, the door and keys were questionable at best, the bed was uncomfortable, and the shared bathrooms were disgusting. It was like staying at a low budget hostel at 4x the price.
Let’s start with the bathrooms: They were littered with beer bottles and empty drink cups, all kinds of bodily fluids all over the seat and toilets. Even when the door was locked, which should be an indicator that someone is already in there, other guests or bar patrons were still able to open the doors and freely walk in. Not at all enjoyable.
Then there was the live music… This music was supposed to end around 1 in the morning, reasonable for a weekend, but the screeching microphones, off key singing, yelling, and absolute chaos continued up past 3am. They did offer a jar of ear plugs, but they looked beyond decrepit.
When we woke up to check out, the main area where we checked in was locked and there was no key drop. We received no instructions on what to do with the keys, so our taxi driver ended up dropping them off with the AM bartender.

This is a great place to stay if you don’t mind sharing the bathroom. The place is super clean and the people who run it are incredibly nice. Location is perfect! Right on the main road and heart of this little town.
We enjoyed our stay so much. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. It was nothing fancy, and we had to share a bathroom, but we had no problems. It was very loud at night with the bar underneath. The people made this experience great for us. We are from Georgia and came off season. We were watching the Falcons, and the locals joined in and cheered for our team! We really loved talking to the people of Talkeetna. They made it very special for us. I can’t wait to go back and stay in the same place!
