"The Hotel was very large for a European room. Very close to the public transportation. I do wish they had a restaurant on site but the bar was great. "

My only concern would be staying in the Summer. We could only change our heat by1.5 degrees and open a small window (plus use a provided fan). It was a little warm for us a couple of nights. "

"This place was perfect!! It is very close to the train station and very close to the grocery store! The staff was so amazing and very helpful!! The food at the restaurant in the hotel was so good! The rooms were very clean and everything it felt very safe because you have to scan your room key to get to your specific floor and then scan your room key again to get into the hallway of your hotel room!! 10/10 and will most definitely be staying with Volkshotel on my next trip to Amsterdam and would also recommend it to everyone going to Amsterdam! "Although Hotels.com cancelled my reservation from the hotel instead of showing me as a no-show for late check-in, hotel staff was extremely helpful for finding a solution at the spot. I might not have a place to stay if it wasn't for their incredible kindness to offer me one of the available rooms. I'm terribly sorry that I forgot her name but If i remember correctly Mariana(The hotel manager) is one of the nicest people you can find around Amsterdam. Thanks to her and other crew members for their kindness and helpfullness. In addition you can rent a bike from the hotel also, so that was a great plus for me. Once again thanks to everyone who made me feel welcomed"

"There is an abandoned car park next to the hotel, but the surrounding area is clean and safe. College housing is also around. Incredibly safe. About a 10-12 minute walk from tram stop. Overall, experience was wonderful. "
