The next door neighbor (or owner’s shed not sure which) has a pile of trash with old dog crates , plastic bins, stove, refrigerator, among many other items in clear view. (Where the tractor is in the listing photos.) You see it from the windows in the living room and on the deck. The outside no longer looks like the pictures. It needs to be cleaned, the deck has busted and rotting boards with screws sticking out ( we easily pulled one out because we kept tripping on it), two of the chairs are rusty and peeling paint, just a basic sweeping would work. The side door frame had been kicked out (… I unfortunately didn’t read all of the reviews and noticed this happened in May of 2020.) It has not been repaired instead a door lock wedge, a hinged lock with a stick in it, and two door stoppers are used to keep it from opening. The inside was fine. The fridge has been updated and it was nice to have cable. There were 2 rolls of toilet paper for 4 people for 8 days. It could be a lovely setting with a few tweaks. The little things like the toilet paper and broken wood stove etc wouldn’t bother me but with everything else its too much. I do not recommend.

Loved this place, it was historic yet had all the modern amenities. It was peaceful and remote, exactly what we were looking for while in the area for a professional conference at WCU.

The place was great and clean and well stocked. However, the kitchen sink leaked all over the counter and the tub leaked into the bathroom floor.

This is a true Rustic Cabin in the woods off a good dirt road that was very clean and had exactly what you needed. I was disappointed the wood burning stove didn’t work as that is why I chose this cabin.

It’s a quiet location and very cute. However some of the furniture could be replaced as in the bed and the couch. However it was very much needed to get away and unplug from time to time.

We had a wonderful time on the property we met the owner. He was a very nice man and we he dealt with my husband for a while about service so he was happy but it was clean. It was beautiful and it was quiet. We really enjoyed our stay. We had a great time. We were close to the places where we could go in and see what we wanted to say. We were very very, happy with our choice

Vacasa is an absolute nightmare to deal with
The cabin is fine but I absolutely wouldn’t recommend booking a stay. The property management company is a nightmare to deal with. They are unresponsive and devoid of empathy. They are highly uncooperative when trying to reschedule or altered booking details. They also completely disregard that service members often need to make changes due to military service obligations. Definitely not a military friendly company.

If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place. Beautiful countryside and close to adventure. We had fireflies by night and bunnies in the morning. The small stream was peaceful, and the area is beautiful.

Cute place
First off the cabin was quaint, quiet, and homey. Lots of renovation, cool old Knick knacks. However: Porch needs repaired. The one lane driveway is long and precarious if someone else is coming. You or they have to back up. Suggestion: add a fire ring and some adirondack chairs in the yard. The stars were lovely and a fire ring would add some ambiance. There was an issue with the a/c. You have to empty the water tray daily or it shuts off. Property manager came out herself same day to deal with issue. After that I was able to empty it when needed. Lots to do in the area if you are an outdoor enthusiast. Sylva has some cute stores and a couple of eating options. I recommend Oyster Creek restaurant. Storage building right next to cabin not in pictures. Overall ok stay. Nice owners.

Cozy little cabin
Our weekends stay here reminded me so much of our ancestral home back in the village. Everything here has a rustic charm.. my little one loved looking at old artifacts around the house like phones, old stove, old pots and pans etc.. We had no trouble getting here. Cause the GPS worked the entire time. Wifi was fine on the first day but barely worked the next day.. we were out and about so this wasn’t a big issue.. Overall the stay was good for the price we paid.

Rustic, charming and off the beaten path
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as noted by the 5 star rating and our title. It was clean and spacious in a beautiful surroundings. One thing to note for future guests. There are multiple small step ups and steps downs of less than 5 inches. While they are clearly marked with orange tape, could still be a challenge to someone not as mobile. Also would recommend to install a handrail near the tub. It’s a beautiful cast iron tub, but can be difficult to get in and out of, especially if you older or aren’t as mobile.

Quaint and quiet
The place is a quant little cabin. It is nestled at the end of a one lane dirt road. Not one lane in each direction, one lane. It is only about half a mile long. I would recommend getting there before dark on the 1st day. The cabin is immediately to your left when the road opens up. It is a simple, 1 bdrm with a king size bed & loft sleeping area. The ladder in the room leads to an open loft with 2 beds directly above the king bed. The kitchen has all the basic needs. If you are there during the colder months the wood burning stove works excellent & is MORE than capable of warming the room. Stop by Walmart, next to Starbucks ;o), to get some extra wood, about 20 mins drive. There are 2 other heaters (bathroom & living room). The sound of the stream that runs beside the cabin makes sitting on the porch a peaceful place to be. This cabin is not fancy or modern, but has everything you need and 2 TV's if you need extra entertainment. We didn't have any issues so did not have to contact the owner. The cabin is only 30 mins from several attractions (Great Smokey Train ride, wildwater rafting, ziplining, hiking & more). It was perfect for the two of us.

Great Stay
The property as a whole was better than expected. Warm and cozy. If there was any issue, it would be with the BBQ'S. The Webber had no Grate, and the gas unit was in need of some serious cleaning, other than that it was an excellent stay.

An interesting, cabin off the touristy places but maybe a bit too far off. The roads were not easy to navigate with our Kia Telluride. It was far from city lights which I wanted for star gazing and the Fall color was awesome. Filled with antiques yet all the modern conveniences present including WiFi.

We had such an amazing time. Was looking for a quiet and private place to escape too and we found it here. We never had to reach out to the owmers for anything. Wifi was great, TV was great, Shower was great. Temperature dropped into the 20s and we only used the electric fire place in the bedroom and the gas one in the living roon and it kept it very warm. We were comfortable the entire stay. The driveway to me was awesome and adds to the mountain experience. It was beautiful. We look foward to returning!

Scary ride but worth the trip!
The ride up the side of the mountain to the cabin is very scary. Definitely wouldn't do it at night or in the rain or snow. The cabin is rustic and quaint, fully equipped and very clean. We found it very peaceful and enjoyed our stay.
