Before you pack up the car and head for the mountains, know that when we say mountains, we really mean it! Downtown Bryson City has an elevation of 1,752 feet, so think of this as a starting point. The majority of our cabins will have a higher elevation than this. This means that our roads- both state and private- will be steeper, narrower, and curvier than you may be used to driving. Also, you should expect to encounter gravel roads. Consider it part of our rural mountain charm! Here at Yellow Rose, your safety is our priority. If a cabin requires 4 wheel, front wheel, or all wheel drive to access it, it will be listed in the description. If bringing or riding motorcycles, please call and ask for motorcycle friendly properties. If you have any concerns about accessing your rental, please call prior to your arrival and we will be happy to discuss it with you. Yellow Rose has top rated customer service and has been Locally Owned and Operated Since 1995. We are a company that gives back to the local community and we offer our guests 24/7 Emergency Assistance. View our list of adventure partners to get Special Discounts on Popular Attractions!

Great stay!
We enjoyed our stay! The house was roomy enough for our group. It’s conveniently located to several great cities with plenty to do for everyone. The house was very clean and the host was very quick to respond to any messages. We would definitely stay here again!

Relaxing weekend
We enjoyed our stay at Relax and Unwind. It was great for our two families. We were perfectly located between Bryson City and Dillsboro where we were able to go whitewater rafting on the Nantahala and the next day tubing down the Tuckaseegee River. We returned in the later afternoons and enjoyed the evening cooking together in the well stocked kitchen and gathering around the large dining table playing games into the evening.

This spot in the mtns was the perfect base for our visit to the area. Plenty of room for us all to spread out & individually be ourselves. Porch, man cave, billiard table, hot tub & fire pit. Easy access to Dillsboro, Cullowhee & Sylva.

Great views and location
The view from the back porch was great. The drive up to the house has a lot of curves but it is beautiful. We were able to find the house using Waze and Apple maps so did not have to use the alternate directions provided in the confirmation. We had a great stay. The proximity to Dillsboro and Sylva is great with some good restaurants nearby.

Not Happy!
The view and location was wonderful, the house was big enough for all of us. The concerns we had were: the carbonmonxide alarm went off and we could not figure out what it was, I called the emergency number and it took time to get back to us. My husband figured out what it was and turned it and the gas to the fireplace off. Also had a major bug problem in the downstairs, my granddaughter had to sleep on the couch upstairs because bugs were crawling on her! I purchased a can of raid and sprayed the lower level. I then had to clean up 200 or more dead bugs. We also felt rushed at the end of our stay, someone from Yellow Rose realty called not once but twice to see when we were checking out the next day and to see if we used the hot tub. We have rented homes in this area for over 25 years for our family vacation, we were disappointed with this home, will not rent this home again.

The good, the bad, and the ugly
It’s several weeks since I stayed at the property which gave me a chance to reflect on my stay without being too wrapped up in the moment. THE GOOD The house itself is lovely although some of the furnishings are a bit worn. It’s secluded and well off the beaten path (which was nice) but it’s also at 15-20 minutes from any of the nearby communities which can be a problem if you don’t want to stay away all day or want to return to house for meals and go back out. THE BAD. The promo for the house says it has a hot tub, pool table, ping-pong table and Internet. These were very important elements since we have four teenagers who get easily bored. The house does not have ping-pong table and the Internet almost never worked. After several attempts to restart the Internet following the instructions in the house we called the leasing agency and was told the Internet often goes out in the area during storms. Since we had storms every afternoon during our stay the Internet almost never worked. Also the hot tub was not “hot” it took us several phone calls and two days to get proper instructions (there were none in the house) on how to raise the temperature to an acceptable level. It would have been helpful to know about the internet reliability before we rented the house since having internet was a major consideration in our decision to rent this property. Thank goodness none of us were working and needed reliable access. THE UGLY When we arrived at the house the outside garbage bin was overflowing. We called the leasing agency but it was after 5 pm and they were already closed for the day. We got their answering service. When we spoke to the agency the next day they explained that garbage would be picked up by a service later in the week. As a family of nine staying in the house and eating many meals at home we were producing a large amount of garbage. They did send someone out to pick up the garbage the next day but we felt that the house garbage should have been gone before we got there. Lastly, the dryer broke the day before we left. We immediately informed the agency and requested repair or alternatively additional towels since we no longer had any dry towels in. It took several phone calls and reminders until towels were finally delivered. In summary, we liked the house but were disappointed by the accuracy of its description, the issues we encountered and the response by the leasing agency.

Easter in the mountains
Home away from home! This house was beyond perfect for a spring break escape with cousins. Plenty of room for 4 adults and 5 teens. The house is close enough to trails and waterfalls for daily adventures but remote enough that we were not surrounded by tourists. The drive up the side of the mountain was a little intense, but the view made it totally worth it!! The days we stayed home, there was plenty of space and activities with the pool table and PlayStation as well as room for board games and crafts. The swings on the deck were perfect for a cup of coffee and a book in the mornings and the fire pit was a great way to spend the evenings giggling with smores. The hot tub was a great way to relax our old muscles after a good hike too. Can't wait to book another trip here!!

Hose was great, but the roaches weren't...
I loved most everything about the property and the ease of the process to stay there. The house was newer, had a great layout and well appointed. We did have a few complaints though. My number one complaint was the fact that there were roaches in the kitchen. Luckily we 9nly saw them in the kitchen and nowhere else, but it made it harder to cook and be comfortable. I made sure I didn't do any cooking in the home for the most part( I cooked one meal with stuff my husband went and got and then I cooked immediately since I didn't want to cook anything that had been sitting in the home, and washed all the dishes we used right before cooking). My only other complaint is that the hottub was just barely lukewarm and would not heat up no matter what. It was like being in a small swimming pool. Needless to say we couldn't spend much time in the hottub since the temperatures were in the 40s and 50s the whole weekend. Other than those things it was alright.
