Modern Fresh bathroom.
Good value for an overnight stay in a convenient location.
Not much space, they would benefit installing a lift and dressing rooms.

Wouldn’t recommend for a weekend night as it gets way too noisy. The bathroom was clean but it was dusty in the room. Had good room
Mates that made the stay better or else would not recommend unless that’s the only option available
I liked the convenience. I didn't like the noise from the band/equipment which played so loudly until at least 4am that my locked window rattled continually & I had to turn off the air-con because it was also rattling from the noise waves. There was no powerpoint for the kettle provided - I had to move a bedside table to the opposite wall to boil the jug. A teaspoon would have also helped when making tea/coffee with the sachets provided. The wooden 'bath mat' at the shower door was dangerous - easily tripped over coming into the small but adequate bathroom. The bar staff who directed me to the correct entry on my arrival was very pleasant & the reception guy on departure was also pleasant but the member of staff who received me was much less so - very curt & unwelcoming.

Nice and simple but a bit damp
By the time we got to the hostel there was no reception so we had to make some phone calls to get into our room. Once we got inside it was fairly nice but it smelt a bit funny and damp, we got the private room we had requested! Only small but plenty of room just to watch tv and sleep. But again it smelt stuffy and damp.
When we left in the morning reception wasn’t in so we just handed back our card and left.

There is a club downstairs so it’s very noisy at night. The common space is on the rooftop with limited seating space indoor. The staff hours are very limited just from 10:00-14:00 if you miss them, you have to wait another day.
I arrived at the hostel around 02:35pm and there was just a woman saying the reception was close
She pointed out a sign saying their reception is open from 10:30am till 02:30pm which is totally ridiculous
On the site it exactly says check-in time from 2pm till 4pm
I could actually go there earlier around 11am
I didn’t even sleep last night before the stay
I stayed at the Village Broadway only because I needed to use the free 1 night award
The woman called a manager and handed over her phone to me
They said my key card was in the mail box and I didn’t need to be checked ID and pay deposit for the card
Their service is completely a mess
They didn’t send any email and inform me the checkin process
However, for the facilities, they were pretty fine
No free continental breakfast though
I stayed at The Village Kingsbury Cross, they did provide basic bread, jam, peanut butter, milk, coffee and tea
I dunno how come they don’t have them at Broadway
The worst hostel experience ever. I would not stay here again & do not recommend. The basement bar has live bands that play till 3am and then the hostel hallways fill with people from that bar. The staff is hardly there and the place was dirty everywhere. Not to mention the entrance is hidden in a sketchy alley way.
The staff were amazing, facilities are decent for a hostel, location is amazing. Other people in my dorm were super inconsiderate and the girl on the bunk below me had loud drunk sex at 2am while I was trying to sleep. My bottom sheet had someone else’s hair all over it and an old blood stain when I arrived.
pro:
- location: Very close to Central station, China town, Glebe; small park just across the street.
- furniture: Everything appeared quite new, nice and clean atmosphere; kitchen and lounges on the roof top.
- Wi-Fi was alright (not enough for streaming but reliable for emails etc)
- price: I found it pretty cheap for what you get
con:
- noise: The bar downstairs is really noisy, with a heavy bass that makes it hard to sleep. Not only on the weekend; I had this problem on Wednesday night.
- I was a bit unlucky with one of my roommates (drunk and noisy), but I guess that can happen in any hostel.
Overall a good stay. The kitchen appliances need updating as most the pans don’t have handles and can be very dangerous. The rooms are fairly clean, comfy bed. Nice people in the hostel but could do with some social activity
