Great location right in the CBD of Sydney. Excellent location for public transportation, food and restaurant options, shopping and entertainment. We loved it. Lovely clean room, serviced daily. Friendly staff. Nice pool and pool area for those hot days. We will be back again one day!!

I stayed in Room 1111 and there is ZERO internet wifi signal in the room. If you need wifi access you need to sit outside the room...next to the occupants of the room next door 1110 who also have zero Internet access. Don't bother telling the staff, they are completely disinterested in the issue. I asked for compensation as I paid for Internet access and was advised that Reception would speak to the manager and that's the last I heard of it. Reception exists to check in and check out which is a seamless process and anything beyond that......???

A/C was broken and the heat was unbearable. Wifi only worked outside of our room in common area. Hotel didnt offer anything in exchange we eventually convinced them to offer us breakfast. Location is cool but would not recommend otherwise.

Internet wifi is almost non existent. It is difficult to connect due to limited bandwith, 200 users for 30 avail connects. So after 1 minute of connection, internet disconnects and you have to sign in again. Even a two star hotel in third world nation like Vietnam has better internet service than Metro hotel in Sydney.

The location is great, close to tram stops to Darling Harbour and Circular Quay, buses, and the train to the airport. Staff were welcoming and helpful and it was a lovely treat to receive a bottle of wine and chocolates for NYE. The room was okay but the aircon was pathetic so it was very hot in the room. The hotel is overpriced given than the room and bathroom were dated with a mouldy shower curtain and stains on the bedding. However, it was NYE and a very great location for public transport.

It would have been a great stayover and convenient to everything but its lack of sound proofing made it an almost sleepless night ! Also the door is not sound proofed so drunks coming past your door waking you was not on.

Booked a room with 3 single beds - the room was the size of a normal room with 3 beds squashed in, so not much room. Hotel was good besides size of room. Very convenient to Central Station and Light Rail.

The room and bathroom was outdated and 2 big single beds on a small surface made difficult to move. The beds were not done properly despite having the room cleaned everyday. The breakfast buffet was ok-ish. I would not recommend it if you expect a 4 stars hotel, as it was advertised at the time we booked the hotel.

I stayed at the Metro Marlow 3 different times over the past month, in a different room each time. I like the convenience of this hotel — easy, quick walk to the train station and trams (making it super easy to get to the airport, harbours, etc.), and walking distance to some very good restaurants in Surry Hills (I recommend Pellegrino 2000, Gilda’s, and Les Copains). And I found the rooms large, clean, and fairly comfortable. And I like it that there’s a small, rooftop pool. But, the WiFi was a problem: the first time I stayed, no problem at all; the second time, the WiFi was slow and a bit glitchy (trying to stream a show, it kept stopping to load); and the third time, the WiFi didn’t work in the room at all. I had to go out into the hallway to get a signal. I complained to the staff, but they said if I got a signal in the hallway, it normally “holds” when you go back in the room. This wasn’t true, at least not in my room. Their own TV system kept changing servers to Dye and Durham, a business nearby, and asking me to login. I had to turn the TV off and back on to get it to reconnect with the hotel’s own server. Anyway, if you need good, reliable WiFi this may not be the place for you, or insist on a room change if the WiFi in your room doesn’t work. Other than that, this is a reasonably priced, friendly, and very convenient hotel.
