Get back to nature! Unique cabin in the mountains 15 minutes from Asheville N.C.

HURRICANE HELENE UPDATE: AFTER 2 months of being closed due to neighboring property landslides, our cabin is finally back open, and the Asheville area is welcoming visitors!! Small businesses in and around the Asheville area need your support!! Please visit the area with patience and a kind heart!

Just so there are no surprises... on your way up to the cabin you will see missing asphalt in an area (you will have to go slow over the bumpy rough area) you will also see some mud piled up on the sides of the road in areas from where we had some gracious volunteers clear a way up to the cabin! Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we navigate through these difficult times.
Wild Ridge Trail is a unique cabin perfectly tucked away in the woods just outside of Asheville N.C. and is also only a short distance to the charming town of Black Mountain! One of our guests described our place as "soul-soothing" and "undefinable" and we couldn't agree more! The cabin is simple yet modern with a touch of elegance. Please take note that our cabin is off grid and designed for the adventurous at heart! (off grid meaning there is no power or running water) yet, you won't even miss it with our set up of an off grid rain encatchment to collect water for the heated outdoor shower (seasonal) and a pretty awesome flashlight to help keep the space lit up at night! So, if you're looking to disconnect and just take it easy, then come stay for awhile!

Wild Ridge Trail is a newly constructed cabin and was designed for the adventurous at heart! You can drive on up if you have 4WD or AWD, and if you don't, no worries! Just park in the designated space, grab your gear, and hike on up! (The hike in is steep.. about 300 ft but takes less than 5 minutes) We have a cooler up there for any perishables you may have, just bring ice!
If you are bringing a pet, please add on the pet in the drop-down menu when booking. We do charge a $25 pet clean-up fee at the time of booking.

NOTE: DUE TO THE STEEP DRIVE, ONLY 4×4 OR AWD NO EXCEPTIONS
All others will have to park at the bottom of the gravel drive and hike up.

Please note:
Our heated outdoor shower is closed in the cold winter months. Usually that is from late November- late March. We provide a solar camping shower bag to use for those months. There is also a Ymca 15 minutes from the cabin that offers a daypass for $15 a person and that includes their shower facilities. (We keep our winter prices lower to help cover these costs)

There is a Jackary solar power bank to help charge your phones etc..

To heat the space in the colder months, there is a unvented wall mounted propane heater that works great to heat the space BUT you MUST crack a window when running the heater or the carbon monoxide alarm will sound.

There is no AC in the summer but there is a battery powered fan and lots of windows for breeze.

Great mountain getaway
This was a great property! You really don't realize you don't have power. They do a great job with providing everything you need. The driveway to get to the property is intense but a lot of fun. Very dog friendly which is always a plus. Hope to visit again.

Off-grid adventure
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the off grid cabin in the woods. It got pretty hot with just the one fan to cool us off, but otherwise a pleasant experience. The drive up the mountain was INTENSE but loved the privacy once up there. Thanks again for letting us enjoy your slice of paradise in the blue ridge mountains!

This place is pure magic!
This little cabin was PERFECT for our second wedding anniversary! The swing was my favorite part and my husband loved the outdoor shower. We grilled out almost every night and enjoyed some quiet reading time around the camp fire. Also… THE TOILET! How cool! We highly recommend this spot and we will be back again! Next time with our pups. We didn’t realize how dog friendly it was going to be :)

40th Anniversary
This was our first trip to this part of western North Carolina and we had a wonderful time! The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. The roll up garage door was a real treat as we could open up the cabin to the beautiful woods right outside and bring in the cool fresh air. We really enjoyed the outdoor shower and the location is a short drive to either Ashville or Black Mountain. We would also highly recommend the Trailhead Restaurant in Black Mountain. Looking forward to coming back next spring!

Weekend Getaway
We took our dog on a weekend trip to Asheville and our stay was amazing! Very pet friendly and user friendly. The gas, electric and bathroom were all easy to figure out. The place was secluded and relaxing, but still close to downtown Asheville. The cabin had everything we needed and the host was easy to get in contact with. The drive up is a little steep, but we didn’t have any issues. All around we had a great stay!

Beautiful Mountain Cabin!
This cabin is absolutely stunning - it is modern and has gorgeous mountain-top views! Everything was cleaned to perfection and the cabin is fully stocked with everything needed for a great weekend away. We loved being close to Asheville (about 10 minutes by car) and still able to enjoy some solitude.

Perfect Mountain Escape
We spent LDW here, escaping up to the mountains from Charleston. It was so close to everything we wanted to do while exploring Asheville for our first time! The cabin itself was so clean, so CUTE, and had everything you needed. The road to get up the cabin is (very) steep but it’s totally worth it. My fiancé loved the views, I loved the outdoor shower (was not expecting that to be my favorite part but WOW), and our dog loved the gated deck. I would recommend this spot to any of our friends and family! We will be back 😊

Perfect Spot for our 10th Anniversary
We wanted something remote, private, and quiet. Ambiance is everything. And this was IT. We loved falling asleep to the sounds of the crickets at night (with the glass garage door open) and enjoying our coffee on the porch in the mornings. It's only about 15 minutes from downtown Asheville, where we spent our evenings. And 15 to 30 minutes from prime kayak launches, where we spent our days. We will definitely be back sooner than later.

They have thought of everything!
I didn't need to pack most of what I packed. These guys have stocked this place with everything you need. The views are incredible, just walking around the property was enough space for me to take my dog for short walks without seeing anyone and feeling completely immersed in the mountain experience. Solar lights at night! My favorite was the large garage door and little kitchen corner. Great space for some alone time or time with a friend or lover. It was early spring so I could see the owners home and closest neighbors roof but I can tell that when the leaves grown in the place is probably not visible. I actually liked knowing someone was right there since I traveled solo. I highly recommend this place to anyone that wants to camp but doesn't like camping haha. It was perfection!!
